Epilogue (Bonus Scene) - An NHL-Superhero Alternate Universe
Meanwhile, (A little bit earlier)
Rinaldo blinked awake. He was in so much pain right now, but he was able to push through it and slowly the pain ceased as he healed himself. Though the regeneration process was long, he eventually pushed himself up. He got to his feet and cracked his neck. He transformed back into a human.
"Those heroes will pay for this! Especially that blue furry mutant!"
He was about to walk toward the United Center, when he was joined by Dion Phaneuf and David Clarkson and soon the rest of the villains.
"Can we kill those no good brats now?" Phil Kessel whined.
"No!" Avery snapped. "But...it seems they have a healer...or two...I'd like to thank our spy, for the knowledge..." He looked to the side, to Steve Ott, who smiled, flashing his canines. The Sabretooth-like supervillain raised his hand up and brought his sharp claw-nails across the concrete of the monorail tracks.
"I wouldn't mind sinking my nails into John Tavares' Islander flesh!" Ott sneered. "After all, I wanted to so badly after he shot a puck grenade at me!"
Avery patted him. "In time, my feline friend. In time. The Hockey Heroes may have won this time, but we'll get them next time...sooner or later those precious healers will belong to us and then when they are...we'll take it to them all!"
"Yeah! Puny heroes!" Tyler Myers boomed, stomping his foot hard on Madison Street and denting it.
Avery snickered, looking back at the UC and then he turned back to Ott. "One thing, who are the healers?"
Ott faced him, scowling wickedly. "You're gonna love this, Avery."
"Who are they Ott?" Avery demanded.
"Patrick Kane and Tyler Seguin."
Zenon Konopka stomped forward, the fire chain draped around his neck. "That Chromokinetic failure of a spy is a healer?"
"Yup." And with that, all of the villain vaporized into thin air.

Back in the real world,
In Boston, Massachusetts,
Valeri Nichushkin, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, Vladislav Namestnikov, Nikita Zadorov, Nikita Nesterov, John Tavares, Ben Smith, Gabriel Landeskog, and Nathan Mackinnon all reappear in the middle of the Hockey Avengers headquarters.
Nathan looks around him. "Where am I? What is this place? Gabriel!"
"Welcome to the Hockey Avengers Headquarters, Nathan Mackinnon," Gabriel states.
"Wha--the Hockey Avengers?" Nathan questions. "What the hell's that?"
Before a reply comes to him, Evelyn, Kelly, Brooke, Sidney and Evgeni Malkin appears, along with Brad Hawkley.
"They're back!" Evelyn cries, racing forward to Val. They share a hug with one another. "What happened? You were here one moment and then vanished. Gone. Hawkley checked the supercomputer, trying to locate you but you were gone. Only we remained."
"For the record, Geno didn't think you'd make it!" Sidney teases.
"You lucky you no animal, Sid. Russia no like." Evgeni crosses his arms in front of him.
Before anyone else can speak a loud bark echoes toward them.
"NIKITA!!" Tyler screams as a flash of golden brown flies between the Penguins and launches at Tyler, knocking him backward to the floor. "Missed you too buddy!"
Nikita barks again and licks Tyler's face nonstop, happy to see him.
"So what happened?" Evelyn asks, looping an arm around Val's waist.
"Well, we're not sure...one moment we were sitting in the Hockey Avengers headquarters here...in the penthouse..." Jonathan begins to retell.
"...then the lights went out," Vlad adds on.
"And then we all vanished," Patrick finishes. "We're not sure where to, only that we weren't alone and that Avery led a band of villains against us."
Tyler and Jamie nods. Tyler pushes Nikita to the side and sits up, petting the dog, who looks overjoyed. Jamie speaks, "And there were a whole lot more heroes! A whole hockey team's worth."
"Heroes?" Nathan and Ben Smith echo.
"And Nesty!" Nikita Nesterov tacks on. He wears a goofy grin.
"Wait, why is Nikita Nesterov here? And Nathan Mackinnon? And Ben Smith?! This is a nightmare...Hawkley's gonna have to do the thing again...isn't he?" Evelyn questions, shaking her head.
Hawkley steps forward. "Actually, I'm not. Evelyn, may I see you for a second."
"Sure," Evelyn replies, looking at Val, who shrugs.
She follows her boss over to the side. He faces her, looking her dead in the eyes. "Evelyn, when I was at the computer, I saw something. It's no accident that Nikita, Ben and Nathan are here. While Nathan doesn't yet know it, he will soon become a Hockey Avenger. I figure it is only good for him to know a limited amount of knowledge. I fear when he gains powers, it will be better for him to know about the Hockey Avengers."
"How do you know?"
Hawkley taps his head. "Instinct. It's...a spidey-sense in a way. Also, Sidney kinda sorta helped to confirm it. As for the other two, they have powers. I can feel it. Don't have them share it now, for fear of frightening the young Mackinnon, but I'm curious to know what."
Evelyn nods. "So, the Hockey Avengers are adding two more members?"
"I'd like to think so, welcome them aboard. I'll get Nathan back to Colorado safely. But I need to know one thing." Hawkley walks back over and faces Jonathan. "When you all were in the penthouse, before the lights went out, was Nathan here with you?"
Jonathan shakes his head and grabs Patrick, pulling him close. The blond looks at him and smiles.
Gabriel answers, "I was on the phone with him. Why?"
Hawkley nods. "Thank you. It's just I'm trying to figure out what happened. That's all."
"We're fine Hawkley, it was nothing. Just some weird alternate universe thing. It's over now, can we get back to work?" Vlad asks, putting his hands on his hips.
"Still as arrogant as ever, I see," Gabriel snorts.
Vlad shoots him a look. "At least I don't cheat with my ice powers!" He sticks his tongue out, childishly.
"Please don't get into anymore arguments...you two just made up before all of this," John Tavares sighs, pinching his nose with his index finger and thumb.
Tyler is busy giving kisses to Nikita, who licks his lips. Jamie is watching with an eyebrow raised up. Ben Smith shares a look with his fellow newcomer. Evelyn pads back over to her two archers. Hawkley guides Nathan away from the group, after he kindly bids them, and his captain, all farewell and follows the "coach" figure out of the penthouse. Nathan is still utterly flummoxed and isn't sure what is going on, but he follows the man without question.
"What that all about?" Val asks her.
"I'll tell you later...but it's quite intriguing and things are definitely taking a huge turn." She nods and watches Hawkley and Nathan vanish from sight.
In another part of Boston, near Lowell, Massachusetts,
People scatter about in fright as a man suddenly flickers into existence as though he is some kind of alien creature. Lightning flashes overhead at his arrival. His dark brown hair is wavy and it buffets in the breeze. He has on lavish green robes and holds a signature scepter in his hand. He bangs it on the ground a few times before snapping his head up. A wicked smirk crosses his face, followed by devilish laughing.
"I am the chosen one, sent to destroy those heroes once and for all. And I shall not fail." He shoots orange energy from the staff at the scared humans and snickers before walking off down the street. "That's right, bow down before your new master!"
