FOUR

Sometime's the worst of the worst,

simply happens. 

He is staring down at her

sharp ice blue fragments in his eyes

cutting into her own.

Silver tufts of hair falls between his eyes

just between the bridge of his button nose

Up close,

she can see that Ash has freckles.

He always had them, like her.

barely-visible little silvery dots 

sprinkled over the bridge of his nose,

gently dashed onto his cheeks. 

"Your godly and much loved chin 

... almost demolished my head," 

her lips move on their on accord.

Something inside of her twists 

snapping like fire over crackling wood

and embarrassment floods her cheeks

in the color of rose petals

cherry tomatoes

and baboon ass.

He blinks, clearly taken aback.

Maddie wonders if he is still having trouble 

comprehending the terribly awkward situation.

"Well, i don't believe it is my fault 

that you're just a hard-headed girl

who head-butts people when they offer help."

"I didn't need assistance!"

"You looked like you needed life alert back there."

Maddie's patience wears thin.

what an absolute ass  he is.

"If you keep talking, 

I promise you 

that you'll be the one who'll be calling life alert."

Ding-ding.

Click-Click-Click. 

A bright white flash engulfs the two 

just as an ear piercing squeal of excitement 

startles the living shit out of Maddie. 

Ash come to his senses

and shoves himself off of Maddie

Before turning his attention to the tween at the door

with a phone in hand

and a fucking big ass smile on her face.

"Ashton parker has a girlfriend

and now i'm the first to post about this!"

the girl squeals once more,

before making her way outside,

in attempt to spread the new gossip.

"O-M-G , I can't believe-"

Utter silence.

She had walked 

right into the glass door.
