Bella's pov, Saturday morning:
~~~~~~
It is engagement party day!!!!!! I am so excited for Evie! I literally have been up since 4am and helping my Mom get everything perfect whilst Dad helps everyone prepare the security for the ball.
I am kind of tired, but the ball starts at 6pm and we have so much to do. Right now it's 10:30 and so we have eaten breakfast and are working on the ballroom for Evie.
It's kinda awkward working with Mom though. She obviously doesn't care, but to me the atmosphere for me is really uncomfortable. Grandad is helping us today, and Nan Kaiko is helping Mom with the decoration. I'm doing more sewing then I've done in my entire life.
"Bel? Oh god I really need you. I am freaking out, I-I mean there is so much to do and Eldoris I mean I haven't seen him all morning and this whole thing is ridiculous!" Evie ranted running in and collapsing on me.
I giggled and gave her a big hug. "Eve we've been planning this for years. Everything is fine, and I'm sure Eldoris really wants to see you but you know Dad won't let him. We've got everything under control! Look, the decorations are up, food is almost all done, all we really need to do is get you ready, and that will be easy. Just breathe."
Evie took a deep breathe in and smiled at me. "You're right. I'm so glad I have you. Thanks Bel."
"Hey what else am I here for? We're twins. I always got your back." I grinned.
"True words. Now I need to go find my necklace so I'll see you after." Evie smile running off.
"Bella? We need more of the gold hanging decorations go get them please?" Nan Kaiko asked.
I nodded and took off to grab them, crashing into someone and spilling whatever they were holding all over myself. The little girl looked scared and her mother who was obviously a maid dropped to her knees and apologized.
"Please forgive us your highness, I assure you it will not happen again." The wzman said.
"It's alright." I began glancing at the plum wine covering my white and blue dress. "Be more careful next time ok?" I smiled to the little girl.
Then I ran off to get changed, on the way crashing into another person. "For Lemuria's sake if one more person runs into me today." I swore, looking up at the perpetrator.
Ryuku. Of everyone in the castle it had to be Ryuku?
"Well I'd apologize your majesty, but we both know I have no interest in you or your wellbeing. What's on your dress?" Ryuku sneered.
Geez. He's cranky. "Uh, a servant girl spilt wine on me." I stammered.
"You just love getting into trouble don't you?" Ryuku asked. I rolled my eyes, slightly embarrassed, when all of a sudden he pulled off his long coat, black on the outside with red lining, the symbol of his respected position. Without giving me a chance to demand what the hell he was doing, Ryuku suddenly put the coat on me, and looked up again.
"Why did you do that?" I asked, shocked.
"As much as I dislike you sweetheart, no Princess I protect should go around with wine all over herself. It's shameful." Ryuku replied.
Before I could reply, a servant ran up to us an bowed. "Your majesty, Sir Ryuku, I apologize for interrupting. The Queen wishes to speak with you Princess."
"I'll be right there." I nod, putting the coat on properly. Ryuku was standing there with a scowl, dressed only in navy blue suit pants and a white collared shirt, and sporting a gold medal which showed that he was infact a commander.
I smiled to him straightened my shoulders. "Thank you Ryu. Now if you'll excuse me."
I took off down to the ball room with Mom and grandma waiting for me.
"Yeah, what's up? I'm here." I called, puffing from running.
"Oh, good. I need those gold hangy things. Hold on, why are you wearing Ryuku's jacket?" Mom asked, a small smirk sitting on her face.
I hate it when she does this.
"One of the maids spilt wine on me. Ryuku in not so many words said I shouldn't walk around like that and gave me his coat." I replied, attempting to seem nonchalant.
"Hmm. Okay then. I would have thought you'd be annoyed with him saying anything of the sort to you." Mom prodded.
"Wait what? I'm not annoyed, why would you think that? I have no reason to be angry. In fact I should be greatful, he helped make sure I didn't look like an idiot." I frowned.
"Right. Okay then. Go get changed, give him back his coat and then bring down those decorations please." Mom said, shooing me off.
I nodded an walked off, heading to my room and putting on a new dress. I looked down at the coat sitting on my bed. "That smells good." I thought silently, hugging it to my chest.
"Maybe he won't miss it for a little bit longer." I told myself.
So I put the coat on my bed, realising I had a major problem and walked back to the store room, once again seeing Ryuku as I walked past. He was ordering guards around, and I avoided eye contact with him and carried the supplies down to my mother.
"Ah, finally you're back. Thanks sweetie." Mom smiled, grabbing the decorations from me.
"No worries Mom. I'm just gonna fix that one over there, it's falling." I smiled, and used my powers to fly up beside it.
"Did you give him back his coat?" Mom asked.
"Uh, yep." I replied.
"Oh good. Wouldn't want him not to have it at the party." Mom grinned.
"I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe you." My thoughts went nuts as I realised what her tone said.
Not game enough to speak, I just nodded and kept helping out.
Ryuku's pov: 3 hours later.
~~~~~~
"Sir? Uh, Sir, you've been spaced out. Are you ok? Should we get the physician?" One of my men asked.
"What? Oh, I'm sorry. Just worried about everything that could go wrong." I lied, shaking the image of Bella covered in wine from my head.
She still hadn't given me back my coat or talked to me since then. I son know whether to be pissed or amused that she liked my coat.
The strange thing was, over the last few days, my tolerance threshold for stupid things Bella does has gotten a little better. I can't figure out why buy I'm hoping it's good news, not bad news.
"Sir the reason why we wanted to talk with you was because we have discovered a group of Aquarian soldiers in the city. We are concerned for the princesses safety as well as that of the royal family." Lawrence said.
"Why are you concerned? It's obvious they can use their powers to protect them." I frowned.
"We are of the belief that these men know the Princess' strengths are also their weakness. They need their powers to protect them, and without them they are vulnerable."
"If that is your worry, double the soldiers. I want some men tracking down the enemy. Eliminate them at any cost." I ordered emphasizing the any.
"Yes sir."
There is no way after 3 years of being the top commander that I will just let these incompetent idiots steal Bella from right under my nose.

Bella's pov: 5:45
~~~~~~
It is currently quarter to six. Evie is pacing nervously out the back, people are starting to arrive an I have the overwhelming feeling that someone is watching us.
"Bella. Why was Ryuku's coat sitting on your bed?" Evie asked walking up to me and holding it in my face.
"Oh, uh. I meant to have it cleaned, I probably got wine on it." I lied.
"Sure. You know he needs this for the ball right?" Evie asked waving it at me.
I snatched it from her and breathed in the calming scent. "I'll go give it to him now. Focus! We need to be out there right now."
"I'm scared." Evie admitted.
"Don't be. You love him and you know he loves you. You're just telling the kingdom the same thing." I smiled.
Evie smiled back and took a deep breath in, straightening her crown and royal crest. We walked out into the ballroom together, with people applauding and then bowing as we did.
We then bowed before my parents, uncle and aunt, other siblings and grandparents.
"Thank you to everyone for coming!" Dad called out.
"Please enjoy this party." Mom added. The people applauded again and I walked out to mingle slash find Ryuku and give him back his jacket.
"Ryu! I mean, ahem, uh, Sir Ryuku, I have your uh, your coat." I carefully interrupted.
Ryuku jumped at my voice and then smiled softly. I apologize, Princess. You startled me. I hope you found good use for my jacket."
"I most certainly did. I also arrange for it to be cleaned, since I had likely dirtied it. I appreciate your kindness. Might I ask what is going on here?" I gestured to the half a dozen guards standing beside him with their heads bowed.
"You may ask, Kitten, but I won't answer." Ryuku teased. He nodded to his men who walked away and lead me to the dance floor as all the couple's began dancing.
"Man I hate this song." I grumbled. "And I thought I told you to stop calling me kitten?"
"Did you? Well I have a bad memory kitten but even if I did remember I would ignore you." Ryuku smirked. I glanced over to my sister who was dancing with Eldoris. It was almost time to propose. Fingers crossed!
I spotted our friend's all watching from the other side of the room, so I went off to stand inbetween Merlea, Pearl and Lana. Then Ryuku joined us and we all watched my sister.
As the song ended, Eldoris squated down on his knee, and everyone made room for him as he smiled up at Evie.
"Princess, I have loved you ever since we were little, and I still love you so much now. You, as the heir to the throne, gave a poor boy like me from a common family a chance, and I love you so much. I admire your kind and generous attitude, your love for everyone, and you as a person. So would you please become my wife?" Eldoris asked.
Evie's eyes filled with tears as she said yes, and the entire room erupted into cheers. "Hooray for Princess Evie! Congratulations!"
Even though it was rehearsed I knew that Eldoris proposing still meant a lot to her. He'd privately proposed so that it would be less formal and so now this whole thing was really just a formality. Me and our friends squealed and jumped for joy as Eldoris kissed Evie.
"A toast to my daughter!" Dad called, holding up his glass.
"Long live the royal family!" The people yelled in reply.
I giggled and spotted a familiar face in the crowd, Jamie. With a decisive smile, I walked over and tickled him from behind.
"Huh? Princess Bella! I am so excited for your sister!" Jamie squeaked hugging me.
Ryuku walked over and Jamie got nervous and bowed. "Greetings my lord."
"Oh don't worry about calling him that Jamie, he's just a weirdo. Shhh, don't tell anyone though." I giggled.
"Okay." Jamie grinned. At that point my parents walked over and smiled at me.
"Hello Bella. Who's this lovely little boy?" Mom asked.
"This is, Jake. An adorable little boy I just met whom is looking for his mother, I'm just helping him find her." I replied, gripping Arlo's shoulder and letting him know that he needed to play along.
He didn't exactly get it. "Wait but I'm not....."
"Your mother is probably worried sick! Let's go find her." I laughed awkwardly, trying to guide him away.
"Bella? What exactly is going on here?" Mom asked in a low growl.
Before I could answer, Ryuku showed up behind me and placed his hand over my shoulders. "Hey sweetheart, did we find Jake's mother?" He asked. I looked up, suddenly feeling very small and smiled thankfully at him.
"We were just going to." I replied.
Finally, Jamie cottoned on nodded happily. "Well can we go find her now?"
"Of course. Come on." I answered leading him away.
"Thanks for that Ryuku. I didn't know what to say to her." I frowned.
"It would make more sense to tell her the truth. Better remove that from little dude's memory." Ryuku nodded towards Jamie. I quickly cast a time spell and made him forget the last 10 minutes, after which we all went off to get some iced tea.
~~~~~~
2 hours later......
~~~~~~
People are finally starting to leave. No offence to anyone, I swear. It's just that I'm really tired, and honestly, this night was about Evie and Eldoris. If they're happy I'm happy.
I did my royal duty and waved people out as they left, giving Jamie an extra squeeze. Then I trudged my way back inside and sat beside my family.
"That was a very beautiful party, and congratulations both of you, even though I know this is just a formality." Dad smiled at everyone.
"Now I know you're probably all very tired, so if you want to, feel free to head off to bed." Mom added, winking at me.
I giggled and looked down at my triplet siblings who'd fallen asleep on Kai, and picked them up with my magic. Kai heaved a sigh of relief and thanked me, then kissed our parents good night an ran up to bed.
"Well I'll handle these three, uh, be right back. If I don't see you, Adrian, goodnight little cuz." I smiled.
"Night Bel!" Adrian beamed, tightly holding grandad's hand. Just to clarify, Will is Pop and James is grandad. I guess they get along.
I carried Zale, Azure and Jordan upstairs, snuggling them into bed and then slowly walked out so as to not wake them. When I walked into the hallway, I felt a presence behind me and I jumped to protect myself, but I was just grandad coming back from putting Adrian to bed.
"Oh, Bella! I could've sworn you were an enemy for a moment. May I come back with you?"
"Sure. Thank you grandad." I smiled. The old man grew on me.
We headed into the room again and Maddy was just standing up to say something. Is she finally telling everyone about the baby?
"So, family, me and Ant actually have an announcement to make, we're expecting a baby!" Maddy announced.
My parents looked shocked, as did basically everyone else. I had a smirk on my face, and I just sat there laughing whilst everyone asked loads of questions.
"Congratulations Maddy! I'm so happy for you." Mom squealed
"When are you due!" Dad asked.
"Is it a boy or girl?" Evie asked.
"Calm down guys! Thank you Fontaine, Finn, in about 6 months time, Evie, well, we don't know yet." Ant interrupted with a happy smile.
"Oh, bummer." Evie pouted.
I laughed and shook my head, but suddenly my powers started going haywire. I could feel Evie's doing the same, and her eyes glowed as Ryuku and Eldoris both tried to pull us out of our daze.
Eventually we did snap out of it. But that little tingle had me on edge. My powers were warning me about something, and I had no idea what that was.
"Evie did you feel?" I began, an she nodded wildly at me, before an ear splitting scream came from upstairs.
"The triplets!" Mom gasped. Me and Evie took off, and I activated a disabling spell to use on whatever made my little sister and brothers scream.
"What could be wrong?" I gasped.
"I don't know." Evie replied, shaking. When we got into their room, 3 of our guards were holding them tightly, with their hands around their throats and around 8 of our guards were watching them, Asif waiting for someone.
"What the hell are you doing? Let go of our siblings now." I spat, making a dive for one of the guards.
"Ah princess. We've been waiting for you. Here's the deal." The guard replied.
Without waiting for him to finish, I shot the spell at them and pulled Azure, Zale and Jordan out of their grips. "What part of I have magic and you are powerless against me are you not understanding?" I asked in a baby voice. Evie picked the guard up and threw them out of the room, then helped me carry the triplets out of the room. Lemurian guards swarmed them and took them away.
Ryuku ran up to us with Dad and Eldoris, and they helped us carry the triplets downstairs.
"What happened?" Ryuku asked, letting me lean my weight on his shoulder.
"Aquarian soldiers. Nothing I couldn't handle." I grinned cracking my knuckles.
"You're far to reckless with these things. They could have killed your little siblings Bella." Ryuku hissed.
"Back off, I didn't see you getting off your lazy ass to check on them." I half yelled.
We finally got back into the lounge room and my hugged Azure Zale and Jordan tightly. "We need to increase security." Dad stated, squeezing Evie.
"That's true. Don't put Ryuku on it though, he'll just blame you for being reckless if something goes wrong." I glared at him.
"I said you were reckless because you constantly do stupid things that put you and other people you love in danger. Running up into that room you had no idea what was going to be waiting for you. One day they'll figure out how to stop your powers and you're going to be powerless to stop them." Ryuku yelled.
"I needed to protect my family you asshole! I know you think I hate everyone and only care about myself, and I know you don't know what protecting your family is like because they're all dead. But I couldn't just sit around and listen to my siblings scream and not do anything about it! So forgive me for being reckless. It's what any decent human being would have done." I spat out, furiously.
Ryuku's back went stiff, and his whole body rigid, and that's when I realised what I'd said.
"Your majesties, if I might be excused to my room please, I would be grateful." Ryuku smiled. "Fake."
My mind was screaming for me to apologize, to make right what I'd done. But no words left my mouth as my parents nodded and Ryuku walked off. Instead, I stood up straight, pretending to be unaffected by his feelings.
"Well, let's get you off to bed. But, perhaps you can sleep in our room tonight hey?" Evie offered.
Mom nodded and continue hugging Azure tightly.
"Goodnight daddy." I smiled, giving him a big hug. "Goodnight princess." Dad replied, kissing my forehead. I repeated the process with Mom and then picked Azure and Zale off her, carrying them upstairs whilst fighting my tears. God, I think I might actually be getting feelings for that idiot. If this had happened a few months ago, I'd be glad I shut him up.
"Bella? Can I pwease sweep with you?" Azure mumbled sleepily.
"Of course sweetie. Come on, snuggle in here with me. I'll just make Zale and Jordan a bed first." I replied, cuddling her.
I pulled out the ensemble under my bed and filled it with pillows and blankets for the boys. Then Evie helped me tuck them in and I blew out the candles in the room and they all fell asleep.
Evie then gestured for me to come with her onto our balcony. I frowned and followed her out, and watched as she made the little fireworks we used to do as kids.
"What's up?" I smiled.
"I'm just worried. They didn't hurt the triplets, but it was like they were waiting for something. Or someone. Bella I hate to say this but to an extent I think Ryuku might have been right. They were obviously waiting for someone, maybe even you. You've gotta be more careful." Evie whispered.
I hugged her to me and sighed. "I know he was right, now that I've cooled off. But I hate that he always thinks he knows everything. Anyway, I'm really happy for you and Eldoris. It's good that after all these years the planning went off without a hitch." I smiled, opting to change the subject.
"Thanks Bel. I'm really happy too. You gotta help with wedding planning soon! Only a few months away." Evie grinned.
"I know! Trust me I'll help you so much you'll get sick of me." I giggled.
"I hope so." Evie yawned. "Well I'm going to go to bed. By the way, you should say sorry to him." Evie winked, waking inside.
I almost did a double take. Did she just casually slip that in? Lord what have I created? That annoying voice in my head agreed with her, so after brushing my teeth and putting on my night clothes, I slipped on a cardigan and then walked quietly over to his room, but he wasn't in there. So I walked around the castle trying to find him. And eventually i did, he was on my hiding place on the roof.
"Hey Ryuku." I said, sitting beside him.
"Evening." He replied. He looked at me, but instead of being relieved by that, the pain in his eyes made me feel guilty and disgusted with myself for hurting him.
"I'm really sorry for being so horrible before. I spoke way out of line." I told him.
"I know you're sorry. I'm not mad at you by choice, I did kinda deserve it. This is just the spell working it's magic. No pun intended." Ryuku grinned.
"That's hilarious." I laughed. "But seriously, I'm sorry."
"It's fine really. I guess, ah geez we both know I'm not saying sorry for this. I don't like you enough yet. You should probably go to your room, it's pretty late."
Ryuku's words stabbed my heart in a way I didn't think was possible. With a faint smile I flew myself down to my room, then flopped into my bed beside Azure and sobbed myself to sleep.
Finn's pov:
~~~~~~
"This has gone too far this time. Declaring war, I was willing to wait and see what he did. Threatening my children? I want all available men on hand here now. We march for Aquaria tomorrow morning." I Ordered my men.
Calder, Nereus and Glokas bowed before departing to obey me. My beautiful wife looked scared, and I hugged her.
"Finn we can't loose you." Fontaine whimpered.
"I know Angel. And you won't. We have an army at least 4 times bigger than his. I don't appreciate him attacking my family. I promise I'll come back safe and sound but I must deal with this pest." I smiled gently.
Fontaine nodded ad I grabbed her hand, eager to distract her. But my words stood. I needed to teach him a lesson, because no one else would.
~~~~~~
Arr, we declare war we did. Lol, that was dumb. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, let me know If you did ad don't forget to:
