Ryuku's pov:

{Nothing better than a flashback amirite?}

"Ryuku! Come here sonny." Finn called to me. I sheathed my sword and walked in to his office, bowing before a 18 year old me looked up and smiled.

"I need you to keep an eye on Bella please. I trust you more than anyone else, she needs to be safe." Finn ordered.

"You have my word. May I get some men to retrieve my family?" I asked.

"I think that's fine. We are bringing everyone here for safety." Finn nodded.

"Thank you! I will go to her now." I ran out and headed to find Bella, Arlo excitedly talking in my head the whole time. I sent some men for my family whilst I listened to him.

"Can you believe this? A whole lot of time with the most perfect girl ever!" Arlo cheered.

I rolled my eyes but smiled too, ever so slightly happy I would see her. I walked upstairs to her bedroom where Bella was standing there, putting on her fighting clothes. I quickly hid so she couldn't see me. I thought she wasn't allowed to fight? No matter, she's very good and her powers are amazing.

Bella grabbed her bow and sword, then teleported down to the outer perimeter of the castle. I jumped though before she closed it and followed her, ready to kill anyone who might attempt to hurt her. King's orders and all that.

A group of guards true coming through, and I could see my family in the group with them. I was eager to help them inside, but before I could, Aquarian soldiers, evidently believing these were our backup elite men immediately attacked them. 4 other families who were being brought to the castle all screamed and tried to run, even my sister and 3 other little girls.

I made a run to protect them, but was stopped by some other Lemurian guards who were my group of soldiers. They didn't recognise my family.

"Sir Ryuku, you must wait. If Princess Bella unleashes her powers she might kill you." Seb warned.

"No! I need to help them!" I yelled struggling to free myself. I watched in horror as an Aquarian soldier stabbed my mother and she screamed loudly.

I looked over to Bella, who wasn't doing anything. Can she not see my family right there? They just killed my mother!

I pulled on my face mask and broke out of my men's grip, making a dive to stop the men, but by that point it was too late.

Bella looked behind her, but it didn't seem like she recognised my family. She whispered a few words, that I couldn't hear because of my anger and then looked up at me.

"Soldier, help these families inside. I will deal with the rest." She ordered.

How dare she? She just watched my family get killed. She didn't even try to help. Apparently she didn't even recognise the little girl who loved her so much Arlo got jealous.

I hate her. This is all her fault. My family is dead because of her. I am never going to forgive her for this.

Evie's pov:

As Bella ran out of the ball room, my parents walked up to me and Eldoris, confused and wanting to know what happened.

"Why'd she run out?" Dad asked. "Ryuku do something again?"

"He better not have." Mom growled.

"Ah your majesties, we really must bring them back and continue the lesson." Miss white urged.

My mother went to speak but I interrupted. "No! Bella needs her space. And to answer your question, during the war some stuff happened and Ryuku blamed Bella for his parents and sister dying. He only told her just then which made her run out to find him."

Dad hummed softly in understanding. "I assigned him to protect her. But she was supposed to be in the castle. He let her out? How on earth does he believe she's responsible?!"

I huffed. "Eldoris babe please can you at least try to explain? I need to go check on her." I asked giving him a quick kiss.

He smiled an nodded. "Of course! I'd be happy to though I doubt it will help. Even I do not blame her."

"Thank you. Miss White we can continue this later." I smiled.

I ran out of the room and tried to figure out where Bella might have gone. I found Ryuku, shooting arrows at targets and grabbed his ear so he'd listen to me.

"Where'd she go and how badly did you be a jerk to her?" I asked annoyed.

"I wasn't a jerk and I don't know." Ryuku replied.

"I was there when she killed all those guards you know. It wasn't your family. The one that died I mean." I explained.

"Of course it was. If it wasn't they'd have come home. And what do you mean you were there?" He asked.

"Let's see. I could sense Bella's powers and she was distressed. I teleported to her, spotted you by the way, and then watched. That was not your family. It may have looked like it but it wasn't. Come. Let me show you something." I ordered.

Ryuku sighed and followed me into my father's office. I pulled out the letter he'd received from our spy.

"See? They took many people hostage. If you'd like I'll get names. We can see if they're alive. But I promise you Ryuku. Bella saved lives that day. She would never have punished your family because of your stupid mistakes." I said firmly.

Ryuku gave a half nod. "Fine. Get the names."

"And go say sorry for being a jerk." I told him.

"Wha- no! I wasn't a jerk." Ryuku pouted.

"Get moving mister. I want to ask her and know you listened to me by sundown." I replied.

Ryuku huffed and stomped out. I set about writing the letter to our spy.

Bella's pov:

I had gone up to my favourite spot on the roof and planted myself there to clear my head. Bubbles formed in the water around me as I waved my hand and then snuggled back up.

I didn't want to believe any of this. I couldn't bear the thought that I'd let his family die. No wonder he hated me. He has every right to! I'm a horrible person.

Someone moved the roof tile and I jumped as I saw Ryuku pop his head out and pull himself up to sit beside me.

"Knew I'd fine you here." Ryuku drawled.

"Why are you here? I thought you didn't want to be near me." I asked quietly.

Instead of barking back a reply, Ryuku put his arm around me and cuddled me into him. I shivered and looked up at his face, but he continued to look out over the city.

"We're pretty messed up Bella. We're supposed to get married and I can't even be nice to you. I'm sorry." Ryuku said.

Come again?

"We're? There isn't a we're Ryuku. We're not dating. We're not even friends and this time I can't even blame you for it because it's not your fault it's mine." I replied.

"Bella, there is an us. I just told the entire school we're dating. We have to be married. And I know I really don't like you all that much. Scratch that, I absolutely hate you. You make me feel disgusted and annoyed, no matter what." Ryuku began.

"Yeah this is helping you out a whole heap." I replied rolling my eyes.

"But maybe if you're willing we can try to act like we really are dating. And learn to love each other because if we don't, it's going to be a endless and very painful cycle." Ryuku finished, his tone cold.

"Ryuku. I..... God. Fine. We can try. Please believe me when I say I didn't know that was your family." I begged.

He didn't reply but he nodded and I knew that was probably all I'd get from him.

Ryuku looked back down at me and grabbed my hand. Then he turned my head to look at him.

"I really want to kiss you right now." He stated.

"Wait what!? K-kiss me? No way! I've never been kissed before. Being your girlfriend doesn't mean you just get to kiss me." I protested blushing furiously.

"Actually it kinda does." The annoying voice in my head told me.

Ryuku's throat rumbled and he shook his head. "Never been kissed before hey? I'll have to change that."

I thought he was going to ignore me. To my surprise, he kisser my cheek and just below it, then sat up and smirked.

"Didn't think I'd steal you first kiss with permission did you? I'm an ass but I'd never do that." Ryuku chuckled.

"You douche! I thought you were going to kiss me." I whined.

"Ha. Kiss you of all people? Well I didn't. Anyway. Should we go back down to the ball room? Bella?" Ryuku asked.

"No. Let's stay here." I yawned curling into a ball on him.

He laughed and put the blanket I'd brought up over both of us. "Ok. I hate you by the way. You drive me crazy."

"Yes yes I hate you too. Now sleep." I replied.

He cuddled me and before I knew it I was asleep.

Evie's pov:

After me and Eldoris spent the afternoon together, I went back to our room only to find Bella was nowhere to be seen.

That's odd. Where'd she go?

"Eldoris come here!" I called.

He ran in looking concerned. "What's wrong my love?"

"I can't find Bel." I replied.

He frowned an we both took off trying to find her. Ryuku was nowhere to be seen either which really concerned me. Who knows what he could have done.

Eventually Eldoris told me it was almost time for dinner. I looked at the large clock and told him to go, while I kept looking for Bella. She really needs to stop disappearing.

About ten minutes later I walked into the library an noticed that a roof tile was completely gone, and a ladder had been moved beside it.

I levitated myself and flew up through the whole in the roof, only to find (much to my amusement) my twin and Ryuku cuddling up on each other asleep.

I took a quick photo spell an then bent down to wake Ryuku. Bella looked to peaceful to disturb.

"Huh wha- oh Evie. It's you. This is awkward." Ryuku mumbled as he stirred.

"Yes it is. Mind explaining?" I smirked.

"I went to say sorry and she fell asleep on me." Ryuku answered simply.

I giggled as Bella woke up on hearing our voices. She looked at Ryuku and smiled and then noticed me and jumped.

"Oh Evie. It's you. What are you uh, doing here?" Bella fumbled.

"Someone left the roof tile out and I've been looking for you for the last hour." I replied.

Bella glared at Ryuku who was slowly backing away and then back at me.

"So. What happened here?" I asked sitting down.

"He came up here, mocked me a bit and then said I should be his girlfriend. I fell asleep after that."

"You fell asleep? Bel you won't even let me sleep with you. You randomly started hating sleeping with anyone at all. Even me. But you let him sleep with you?" I asked.

"I didn't let him. I fell asleep." Bella protested.

"And like I said, you won't sleep if I'm on your bed. We're twins! He's a guy you hate." I replied.

"Geez Evie you don't need to interrogate me." Bella frowned.

"I'm not. I'm sorry. I'm just curious." I smiled.

"It's ok. Hey could you please not come up here or tell Mom? I only come up here when I need to clear my head or relax. It's kind of private." Bella requested.

"No problem sis." I smiled. "It's supper time anyways so let's go."

Bella nodded eagerly and flew off, while I waited for her to leave. If she wouldn't tell me if just figure out myself.

"Magico praecinuisset tempos novis." I said, casting a time reversal spell. It allows its user to see a certain period of time.

"Knew I'd fine you here." Ryuku drawled.

"Why are you here? I thought you didn't want to be near me." Bella asked quietly.

Oi jackass! She said no!

Ryuku lease in and he kissed her cheek and just below it, then sat up and smirked.

Say what???? She curled into him????? But she said.........

He laughed and put a blanket up over both of them. "Ok. I hate you by the way. You drive me crazy."

"Yes yes I hate you too. Now sleep." She replied.

He cuddled her and Bella fell asleep.

Ok. I think I'm going to die. See was I right people? I said this would happen!

I wasn't kidding when I said if anyone sleeps with Bella she freaks out. A few days after Papa and Mama let her go see the little boy named Arlo she changed, a lot.

Me and Bella used to sleep together all the time. And we used to sleep with our siblings sometimes too. On the odd occasion she will still sleep with Azure but since then she refuses to sleep with anyone else.

I always tried to cast a spell to find out exactly what happened, but every time I tried her magic, the only one I couldn't override, stopped me from doing so.

But if Bella had let Ryuku sleep with her, she was far more comfortable with him then I realised. And that was a good thing. Them finally getting along was better news then I'd had all year.

And plus. Did you see that adorable kiss?

Bella's pov:

After the incredibly embarrassing moment where Evie had found me and Ryuku together, my mind was in overdrive trying to figure out exactly why my sleepy self had allowed him to sleep near me.

After what happened when I saw Arlo those couple years ago, something snapped in my brain. I'd blocked Evie from casting any spells to figure out what had happened, but I'd also developed a sort of PTSD.

Any time I sleep with anyone, I have nightmares of that night. And when I'm near most men who I don't know I panic.

So me falling asleep with Ryuku? Very uncharacteristic.

"Bella you've hardly touched you food. Are you ok?" Nan called out to me.

I jumped and looked up at her, and she looked concerned.

"Oh, sorry. I'm a little tired." I blushed.

Ryuku looked at me from across the table and frowned, and Azure and Zale who were sitting either side of me squeezed my hands.

"Did Ryuku do something again?" Azure asked quietly.

I looked down, feeling guilty. "No. He didn't."

"So. You both ran out of the ballroom earlier. Care to explain your side of the story?" Mom asked us.

Suddenly feeling very hungry, I shoved a spoonful of potato in my mouth and shook my head.

Mom sighed. "Okay then."

"Well then! Desert anyone?" Kai asked excitedly.

Ant nodded eagerly and Jordan dove for the chocolate pudding as it came out.

"Boys behave." Dad chuckled.

"Oh and Bella, if you don't feel like explaining, Ryuku go sit beside her." Mom smirked.

Her and Dad high fived and my grandparents groaned before Nan Kaiko passed Pop Will a gold coin.

"Are you kidding me." Mom scoffed.

I frowned and sunk back into my chair as Azure waved goodbye and sat in Ryuku's spot.

I sunk into my seat and glared at my evil mother, earning an accomplished smirk.

Eventually our very awkward meal was over. I ran off to my room and heaved a massive sigh of relief.

"Your majesty? Your parents wish to see all of your siblings, including you." Shamu called to me.

I threw my glass at the wall and adjusted my dress, then walked out of my room and into my parents room.

Evie, Kai, Jordan, Azure and Zale were all there waiting an I looked a my very amused mother and glared at her.

"Wonderful, you're all here. We wanted to talk with you about my father. Grandpa James?" Dad started.

Oh, cool. Safe topic.

"Yeah we remember." Jordan replied. Zale and Azure nodded, but Kai looked angry which surprised me.

"Well as King it's my duty to be fair and reasonable with everyone. We have interrogated grandpa an he hasn't given us any reason to believe he's here for a bad reason. So he's going to live with us like any other member of our family." Dad stated.

"But that doesn't mean you should trust him yet. For as long as I've known him he been a liar and very greedy. We treat him like family but we keep our distance. If you think he's doing anything wrong come to Mommy and Daddy right away ok?" Mom smiled at us.

"So he's good for now?" Azure asked with wide eyes.

"Yes baby." Mom smiled.

"Sounds ok to me." Me and Evie replied.

Jordan and Zale asked loads of questions, but then Dad turned to Kai who had been quiet the entire time.

"Kai you alright? You've been pretty quiet."

"Are you all crazy?!" Kai yelled.

"Excuse me young man, be polite." Mom frowned.

"Bella might have Ryuku to keep her safe." Kai began.

"Hey leave me out of this!" I protested blushing.

Kai gave me the "don't even bother" look and nodded to Evie. "Evie has Eldoris, the twins have you, but are you forgetting what he did to aunty Maddy? He doesn't deserve a chance. And if I see him I'll I've him a piece of my mind!"

"Kai it's understandable you feel that way. But he needs a chance to redeem himself." Mom said gently.

"Fine." Kai huffed.

"Okay, you can all go to your rooms." Mom smiled. "We love you."

"We love you too." We all replied.

Me and Evie tool the younger kids to their rooms, an then walked to ours.

I flipped right into my bed and curled into a ball, whilst Evie looked at me expectantly.

"So can I sleep with you?" Evie asked.

"Why?" I asked, avoiding the inevitable no.

"You let Ryuku! I'm your twin. You should let me." Evie huffed.

I sighed. It was going to look weird if I didn't. "Fine."

Evie jumped up and layed beside me happily, and I brace myself for a fitful night's sleep as she fell asleep beside me.
