✔Chapter Four : The Walking Talking Machine
Dedicated to my dear friend sidshra_valia_lover
Aisha's POV:-
I didn't get what this person actually meant by that. Walking out with those diaries. Any ways whose diaries were those? Can't be his they looked like some kid's.
I decided to unpack my stuff and I was all done within an hour. I went to the bathroom and got ready for bed but yet I didn't spot Guru anywhere. I checked the clock and it was near about three thirty at night. I walked downstairs to the living room and guess what? It was empty. I walked passed it and checked each and every corner of the house and all was desrted. I walked up to the bedroom tensed and walked out to the swimming pool verandah area and almost immediately the chilly breeze of the winter hit me. It was January and the nights were pretty cold in Mumbai at this time of the year. I looked across the pool to find Guru fast asleep with one of those diaries opened on his chest.
He was only in his shirt that he wore to office and his pants. The cool breeze of the water was hitting him.
Is this man not made up of flesh and blood?
I went to him and shook him a bit by calling by his name but there was no answer. I took a blanket from the wardrobe and placed it over him. But he didn't make a single hair of his move.
Is he dead?
I took his hand to check his pulse but it was normal. So I left him there and walked inside. That night I couldn't sleep properly as my thoughts were there outside where Guru was fast asleep in the chilly weather of early January.
I woke up early that morning and went to the spot where Guru was sleeping at night only to find it empty.
I walked up to the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee. I then started walking to the swimming pool are to sit in the open area and rejoicemy hot drink. I sat at a beech chair there and started to sip my coffee when I noticed Guru through the glass wall of the office space. He was there with his laptop and was lost in it. I decided to go and have a talk with him.
I knocked at the door which was open and he looked back at me and said, "Come in."
"I thought of making some coffee. So would you like it?" I asked a bit hesitantly.
He gestured me by moving his brows to keep the cup at the desk.
"So I was thinking if we would find out about ourselves? Would it be a nice idea?" I asked.
"Say." Was the only word he said and gestured me to sit on the chair opposite to his.
It was all me who was blabbering and at times he looked up from his laptop to look at me and then he would take a sip from his coffee and again look back at his laptop's screen. He remained pin drop silenced.
After a while, he was probably done with his laptop and so he said, "I'll prefer the living room." And he walked out without even bothering me.
Cool!
I followed him slow strolling as he walked away fast before me. And then he took a turn to go to the lobby area. I walked up to the kitchen to keep my coffee mug and then walked out and was walking across the dining room to the living room when I saw Guru barging into the kitchen.
"Umm. What happened?" I asked.
"I need a tweezer and maybe ice." Said he in his that typical arrogant voice.
"Well! I'll get them." I said.
"No it's okay. You go." Said he as he avoided me and walked in.
Okay!
It was then that something on the floor caught my notice.
Bloody footprints?
"Guru! What happened?" I almost screamed and ran inside the kichen to find Guru searching for tweezers.
"Where are the tweezer?" He asked plainly as if nothing happened.
"Guru you are bleeding and how the hell did this happen?" I asked panicked.
"Well this." He said plainly as he showed me a broken iron nail which had blood and fleash on it.
"You just wait." I said as I took out the tweezers. "Are you freeking insane?" I uttered.
"What?" He asked. "What is there to be insane?"
"Isn't it hurting?" I asked as I extended my hand to him to support him to the sofas.
"No." He said bluntly. And walked upto the sofas all alone giving full pressure on his injured feet splashing more blood on the floor.
He sat on the sofa and said to me by extending his hand to me, " Give the tweezers."
"Let me do it." I snapped and took his feet on my hand and saw the broken piece of the rusted nail deep inside the foot's flesh and it was even painful to look at.
Don't you have feelings? I shot a look at him. His face was blunt as usual. As if it was just a mosquito bite.
I tried hard to pull the nail out but it had dug too deep in.
"May I?" He asked.
I handed him the tweezer. He took out a multipurpose knife from his pocket and pulled it open and dug it inside the wound, deeper than the wound itself was. Then he took the tweezer and pulled the broken nail out easily along with a fresh set of newly cut flesh.
Ewww! It's awful!
Tears were rolling down my eyes only at the thought of the pain the injury can cause and Guru was going through all of it without any slight expression of pain.
As he took out the knife, more blood started to fall on the wood floor making the brown floor go red with it.
"Guru! Just wait there. I'm coming in a minute." I said as I ran to the wardrobe and brought a first aid box.
"No. Need." He said as he pressed the ice-pack tightly on the wound.
I stood there frozen.
After sometime, he got up and walked away to the kitchen and brought some sugar and massaged it on the wounded spot and magically the bleeding stopped.
"Now give it." He said as he placed his hand forward to take the first aid box.
"Can I atleast do this?" I asked in defeat.
He shrugged his shoulders and threw himself to the backrest of the sofa and leaned on it.
Yes? I thought.
I then took out the antiseptic lotion and rubbed it on the wound and then wrapped it with the bandage.
"I think I should call the doctor. It was a rusted one and can cause infections." I suggested.
"Don't worry about that. Mind your own business." He said swiftly.
Now this was too much. Here I was trying to help him and he said me this in return? I am definitely going to be the shameless if I'm gonna stand here for another second.
I banged the first aid box on the centre table and said in disgust, "As you wish!"
I stomped up to my room.
