Chapter Ten (Part Two)
I take off running with Austin in my arms and Felix pulling me as footsteps pound on the ground behind us.
We keep running as they yell protests behind us.
I feel my legs moving but no longer going anywhere as I'm lifted up into Felix's arms.
I feel my face blush as I hold onto Austin as Felix runs with both of us in his arms.
We hid behind a wall as the people run past us and I sigh in relief.
"We have to get out of here." Felix says as I nod then look at the child in my arms.
"What do we do with him?"
"We'll deal with it later!" Felix takes off running again.
We run for a while until we eventually reach Felix's place.
Felix was panting and Austin was whimpering and shaking in my arms.
Felix puts me down, with his face redder than a thousand suns as he drags me up to the camera.
"Natalie, it's me. Let us in, it's an emergency!" Felix says as I look back to see if I see them coming up or running anywhere.
The gates split open as he grabs my hand and drags me.
But it didn't feel harsh and rough, it felt warm and safe. His palms were surprisingly soft and he smelled like peppermint...
God, that sounded creepy...
Like with my ex's in the past it felt so much different. Ex/N for example, he was very rough and harsh. Well after a while, he was very sweet at first and made me feel amazing and loved but it changed distractically over time.
He always made me feel trapped and scared and anxious to be with him.
Adrien, B/F/N, F/N named me to cope with that a lot. I don't think I would have made it this far without them.
I'm incredibly grateful for them more than I can express.
And with Felix it actually felt genuine. Like I actually felt safe and loved and heard.
I give him a hard time and we've always teased each other.
But that's the amazing thing, it's only ever been teasing.
Felix drags me inside and we walk up to his room.
I've only been in here a few times but it's incredible. It doesn't have the same amount of "flair" as Adrien's but it's still super cool.
It was a tiny bit bigger and had more books then games.
It was darker and felt more like a library then a bedroom.
It was very quiet with a window that was usually covered by a curtain and lights from lamps everywhere instead of light from the window.
Adrien and Felix really were total opposites.
Adrien loved open spaces because tiny spaces scared him and made him feel like a prisoner.
On the other hand, Felix preferred smaller spaces then bigger ones because they calmed him more.
I sat on the bed and tried to calm Austin while Felix digs through his closet.
"Shhh, it's okay..." I hum softly and he calms down a little bit.
'I"m going to look in Adrien's closet." Felix says as I nod.
He leaves the room and I look down to Austin. "You okay?"
"I w-want my mommy!" Tears stream down his cheeks and I internally panic.
"Shhh, it'll be okay, little guy." I start to hum softly and gently rock him back and forth.
It doesn't work much and before I can even blink, Felix is back in the room and taking Austin from my arms. "You're doing it wrong."
Felix takes him and sings while rocking back and forth better than I was.
Austin calmed down fairly quickly and the soft glance Felix sent down to him melted my heart.
He sets Austin down on the bed then looks at me. "I'll go finish the food, I just had to make that child stop crying first. It was very distracting."
I chuckle softly, "Alright, softie."
He sends me a slight glare, then relaxes his face to turn on his heel and walk back downstairs.
I've never seen Felix pass up the opportunity at an insult before. He must be more serious about this being a nice thing than i thought....
While Felix cooked and Austin slept, I called around too everyone I knew if they knew about a mother missing her child but nothing came up.
Felix walks back in with a pair of clothes, setting them on the chair.
"Nope, I called pretty much everyone we know and no mother is looking for her kid." I say while putting my phone back in my pocket.
Felix sighs. "We can look more tomorrow, for now let's just wake him up so can eat, bathe and get into more comfortable clothes. You wake him up and I'll go finish dinner."
I nod and shake Austin awake as Felix walks back downstairs.
"Austin, wake up." I say softly as his small eyes flutter open.
"Did you find my mommy?" He says as he yawns and sits up.
"No, sorry, Buddy. I'm still looking, but Felix is making dinner. And I thought you might want a bath and some clean clothes"
He nods softly and walks with me to the bathroom.
I helped Austin wash his hair then help him dry off and change into Adrien's clothes that were a little big on him but still looked adorable.
By the time I finished brushing out Austin's hair, Felix called us downstairs.
I pick up Austin and walk down to Felix standing in the kitchen.
I make a bowl and get him set up at the table.
I start to make a bowl myself as I hear a small whisper behind me.
"You're so beautiful, Y/N/N (Your nickname)..."
My eyes widened as I see Felix staring with his eyes softened, a look that I loved but didn't get to see very often.
"W-what did you say....?" I stutter in disbelief.
"I-I mean..." He hesitates while figeting with his hands.
I walk over, softly taking his hands away from digging his nails into his skin.
"I-I meant y-you look stupid, Y/N..." He tries to hide his blush as I laugh softly.
"That's definitely not what you said." I chuckle softly as Felix tries to hide the fact that his face is redder than the surface of Mars.
"S-shut up..."
"You're kinda cute when you wanna be" I flick his nose as I walk back to the food.
I pile it into two bowls as I hear Felix's breath hitch behind me.
I turn around and hand him a bowl, dragging him over to the table and sitting down.
We ate while Austin chatted about him and his family and it was incredibly sweet.
And the food made it that much better.
I feel a warm presence on my hand and look down to see Felix playing with my fingers.
I blush softly and just let him because it seemed to visibly calm him down by a lot.
It grew later and Felix told me to put Austin to bed as he did the dishes.
"Alright, thanks, Fe" I side hug him and decide to tease him by placing a small kiss on his cheek.
His face heats up more as I chuckle softly and walk upstairs.
It doesn't take long for Austin to fall asleep and I feel my eyes getting heavy too.
I soon fall asleep as my heart races in my chest from the earlier events.
Felix POV:
What is this girl trying to do to me...?
I've never felt this way about anyone before. And I'll admit, it scares me a lot.
I shake it off to try to focus on the dishes as I hear my father's voice in the other room.
I abandon the dishes and sneak to stand by the doorway and eavesdrop.
"Natalie, disable the security around the perimeter."
What in the world...?
"Certainly, right on it, sir." Natalie presses a button on her tablet as an electronic voice chimes in.
"Security disabled"
Why would he disable security...? It doesn't make any sense
I hear a scream and bolt upstairs.
I see the kid bleeding while surrounded by broken glass.
"Hey! What happened?" I take the glass off him and pick him up, ignoring the blood and wiping his tears.
"I-it's Y/N! She's g-gone!"
