Third person P.O.V
The soft breeze of the morning made his hair dance as he walked through the opened corridors with a beautiful smile. Students waved their hands to greet him, and he happily returned. A social butterfly... that is what he was called throughout the campus because of his bubbly and extremely friendly personality. Every student was well aware of his likes and dislikes because he was like an open book.
Well, he opened the door of his classroom for the 2nd lecture of the day, and his eyes quickly scanned the spacious room to locate his close friend.
"Hey! Ali!" The boy named Ali turned back to smile and greet back the raven-haired who was wearing a beautiful boxy smile.
"Tae! Come come, I was waiting for you," Ali said, and Taehyung quickly walked to his seat that was next to his friend, of course.
Once Taehyung was comfortable in his seat, he waved back to his classmates who were smiling at him, and then he turned to Ali's side while wiggling his brows.
"What? Don't give me that look." Ali frowned at his expression.
"Ah.. come on, I know, you've my favourite dumpling in your bag that you're hiding from me," Taehyung whined while trying to get the bag of his friend.
Ali scrunched his nose as he smiled and shook his head, he love to tease his childish friend.
"Aaaaallll-"
"Ok, ok... oh my lord, you're such a big trouble." Ali stopped him, taking out the bag of dumplings from his front pocket and shoving that on Taehyung's hand, who chuckled in victory.
"This always works," Taehyung mumbled as he took out a dumpling and started munching on that happily.
Ali rolled his eyes but couldn't feel angry as Taehyung was his only friend for years. He was a Muslim boy that Taehyung found in a park years ago, and to his luck, they joined the same campus and same department, leading them to be close automatically.
Ali snorted and huffed when he saw Taehyung eating like there wasn't any tomorrow.
"Eat slowly, dude." Taehyung just shrugged in response but abruptly stopped eating when their teacher entered the room with his stuff.
"Put it back, put it back!" Taehyung whispered yelled, shoving the bag into Ali's hands, who gaped at the action, but hid the bag quickly to look at Taehyung, who had a pursed smile while cheeks stuffed cutely and sitting so stiffly. Ali narrowed his eyes to why his friend was acting like that, but when he followed his gaze, he saw the reason.
Their teacher was sending death glares towards the topper of the class, yeah, a cherry on the top that Taehyung was a topper of the badge.
"Serves you right," Ali muttered, biting his lips to control his laughter.
"How many times have I had to repeat that DON'T EAT IN MY CLASS!" All the students flinched at the loud voice of their teacher while Taehyung choked while trying to gulp the food.
Ali patted his back, and when he felt his friend in difficulty, he handed him his own water bottle after opening the lid, and he got up from his chair.
"I'm sorry sir, you know him.. he skipped his breakfast again, and he can't just continue with an empty stomach. I forced him to eat before the lecture. I'm sorry, that's my fault." Ali hung his head low while apologizing instead of his friend, taking the blame over himself.
Their teacher frowned but let it pass. When Ali sat back, he noticed a stare, and that was none other than Taehyung, who was giving him puppy eyes while pouting. "Argh.. don't you dare."
Taehyung grabbed his pen and a piece of paper to scribble something and then passed it to Ali.
"You're the best friend I've ever found.. well after Jimine."
Ali scowled but smiled again. Well, it's common for him that every day, Taehyung confesses about his soulmate and his bond. It wasn't like Ali was jealous, but he felt envious as he wasn't the one having many friends.
The rest of the day, both were extremely busy with their lectures. Until he got the message from his parents, and he huffed in sadness because the time had come for him.
"Taehyung," the said male nodded, busy stuffing his mouth with the delicious meatballs in the cafeteria after a hectic day.
"Um, my parents called yesterday and left a message a few minutes ago." Taehyung's hands halted on the chopsticks. His mouth went slow in chewing because he also knew what does it meant.
"So," Ali sighed and slumped back on the chair, eyes never leaving the raven-haired male who looked visibly disturbed by the topic.
"I need to go now," Taehyung's grip tightened on the chopsticks before he let them fall on the polythene box and took hold of the water bottle to gulp down a huge amount.
"I'll stay in touch -"
"No, you just want to stay away from me. You love your our country way too much." Taehyung rolled his eyes, playfully hitting the other's arm before he pretended to be chill and went back to his meatballs.
Ali watched with dull eyes. The way Taehyung was reacting, it was crystal clear that he was going to be sad over this for a long time.
"Call Jimin, he can come here for you." He tried to change the topic, but Taehyung scowled, almost throwing his poor chopsticks on the table.
"You are not Jimin! None of you can replace the other!" Ali smiled, getting up from his chair and going to the frowning raven-haired and softly patting his head. He truly find the other like his own brother, he loved him a lot since the first time they came across in the same building years ago, his love was platonic, though.
Taehyung swatted his hand away, now pouting fully with cross arms over his chest. "Go ahead, leave just like Jimin did. I love~ to stay connected on sns with my two best friends, yeah, I totally love it."
"I'll make sure to visit you after some month, Taehyungie. My parents need me to take over their business, and I can't ditch them when I'm their only child. They let me come here and do my dream work and study just the way I desired. Now, it's time to repay them, isn't it?"
The pout grew more, but the frown melted away in an instant. A small huff, and Ali was now sure that he won. "Fine," Taehyung pointed his finger in the next second and jabbed it over his chest.
"Miss a call, and we are done!"
"Ok, ok, I got it. You are too scary sometimes, Tae." The raven-haired just stuck his tongue out but cocked his one brow when Ali placed a small pendant in his palm.
"Just wear it till I come back to see you, ok?"
"Now, what is this?"
"Just wear it already," Taehyung gave a judging look but ended up wearing the azure pendant.
"If it is related to your previous theories, then I'm telling you in advance, things like genie, ghosts, and spirits don't exist." Ali just nodded his head lightly, knowing well that the debate would end up in a wrong way as ever.
"You promised it, Tae, you are not going to remove it ever."
"Fine, drama king."
The rest of the time, they talked about the business Ali was going to take over after shifting back to his country and what resolutions he had to follow to increase it more. The time passed quickly and they had to part their ways, but both weren't ready because the next day, Ali was departing in the noon, already done with the requirements in the university and the dorm a few days ago, just needed to come out to his only best friend in South Korea.
Taehyung hugged the male tightly, who was about to leave for his dorm to do his packing. "I'm telling you for the last time, if you ever missed my calls, you are divorced."
Ali let out a soft laughter at that. He loves this side of Taehyung, all time bubbly and cheerful.
"Sure, and I won't be getting married again then." A smack landed on his shoulder.
"You could've joined me for dinner, Ali. I don't know when will we meet again."
Ali gave it a thought, and in the end, they agreed to have a last hangout in the busy sity of Seoul. Taehyung helped the other in packing, and they both left to the famous Halal Street in Seoul to get their tummies filled with the delicious meal.
After enjoying the night together, they once again made their way to the dorms, and Ali bid his goodbye. Taehyung was sad but he masked it well, shaking his head he started walking away from the dorms to get his car only to find a man standing near the parking lot with a glass plate filled with a lot of rings.
The raven-haired was always a goner for accessories, especially rings. So, without any thought, he made his way to find some for himself.
Most of them were simply silver rings while others were having stones of amazing colors, too delightful for his sight. While raking his eyes all over the plate, his eyes got stuck to one of the rings. The deep red, somehow maroon shade of the stone was too alluring to his senses that he found his hands already reaching the ring in a daze.
"Do you want to try this one, young man?" The older man, probably in his mid-50s, spoke with a glint in his eyes that Taehyung couldn't name at the moment.
"Yeah," Before he knew, the word was out of his mouth, and in the next moment, he had the ring on his palm when the seller put it there.
The stone shone brightly under the street light, mesmerizing the raven-haired to the extent he never knew he would be over a small ring. It feels like he was in the same daze when he slipped the ring in his ring finger of the left hand, maybe he was hallucinating when the ring looked a bit loose but still it fitted perfectly on his slim finger.
"It's just 1000 won, young man." the seller said, bringing Taehyung out of his trance.
"Oh, yeah, um- sure." Shaking his head, he took his wallet from his pocket and paid for the ring. The seller looked way more than just happy and quickly turned to leave, like he was just waiting for it to sell.
Shrugging it off, Taehyung drove to his house, which was locked. Of course, his brother wasn't there yet as he usually came back around 9 pm.
Unlocking the house after parking his car, he entered the dark house and switched on the lights to illuminate the living room. Throwing his shoes down and wearing the cute, fluffy bunny slippers, he entered his room to freshen up.
He showered quickly and changed into his pyjamas before taking hold of his books to go through today's lectures at least once, his tactic to ace in every exam. Whenever his mind went to the thought that he won't be fighting over food with Ali from tomorrow, he slumped down on the table with a huge pout.
"First Jimine, and now you too, meanie." He was in his own mourning when he heard a knock at the main door, causing him to frown because Namjoon, his older brother has his keys and who knocks when a very much functional door bell was there?
Grumbling under his breath, he dragged his feet to the door, and from the peephole, he saw his brother standing there with his head hanging low.
"Seriously, this man is really a destruction machine! Must have lost his keys now." Looking disappointed, he opened the door and saw his brother still standing there.
"What? Are you not coming inside?" With a cocked brow, he asked the older who looked up briefly.
"Can I come inside?" Taehyung gave him a look of disbelief.
"No, stay outside." He expected a smack, but nothing came, and he thought that his brother must be tired or in a bad mood, so a no no to jokes.
"Fine, come inside." Hearing that, his brother nodded with a small smile and entered with his left foot first when Taehyung walked back to the living room.
"Are you alright, hyung?" Namjoon just nodded his head and walked forth to Taehyung's room, and that's when the younger yelped.
"Hey! That's my room, Hyung. Wait, are you drunk? Are you wasted?! I'm reporting it to dad if you really did -"
"Taehyung? Why are you shouting and at whom?" The said male frowned at the voice from behind, but wait - the voice belonged to his brother who was standing in front of him, not behind him then?
With a deep frown, Taehyung turned his head back, ready to scold whoever was trying to prank him, but his steps halted with wide eyes. Because there stand his brother, removing his shoes and his house key dangling in his fingers as ever.
If his brother was there, then who was the first person?
Whipping his head back to see the doppelganger so that he can report the unknown, he was bewildered because there was no one. Rushing inside his room, he looked everywhere and even in Namjoon's room, too, but found no one.
"Tae? What's wrong? Are you alright?" His brother lost it in the end and took hold of his shoulders.
Maybe I was hallucinating...
"Ah, nothing - I'm just tired, I guess." Dismissing the question, he turned back to his room with a frown, oblivious to one thing that
His new ring was glowing lightly.
