I had gotten my wounds healed by Asia and after a few words with Rias I took to go train. I had a pretty good amount of experience with sword fighting. I needed to bring my A game to the Rating Game. Wielding my sword, I felt pretty One dimensional.

"What could I use other than my sword?" I looked around in the park trying to find some inspiration.

"Bow and arrow? Nah, to big to carry around with a sword"

"A dagger? It could work but I'd be complete recked by long distance opponents"

"Come on, there has to be something-"

As I was about to finish my sentence I heard a sound behind me. It sounded like someone was throwing something. I peek behind the tree to find a kid, maybe 2-3 years younger than me throwing a pencil into some Styrofoam.

Where the hell did he get the styrofoam?!

"Hey, what you doing"

"Oh sorry, I was just practicing my ninja way" he said as he threw another pencil at the styrofoam.

"You pretending those are shurikens and kunais?"

"Yea, I wanted to be a ninja since birth" he said beaming with a smile. He handed me a pencil.

"You want to try it?"

"Uhh... Sure, why not. I need to relieve stress anyway" I took my stance before throwing the pencil into the styrofoam... I missed.

"Huh?"

"Don't worry you got it, try again"

"It's alright, that one was blunt. I got it this time" I threw another one. Missed again and the pencil fell.

"How the hell, why won't they stick?!"

"You aren't doing it right it's like this"

How the hell are you going to tell me in doing- oh, shit.

He nailed it.

"Ok that's some bullshit"

"It's pretty easy"

"Ok hotshot just you wait now, I'm nail this next one".

And so I spent the next few hours throwing pencils at styrofoam. Sad to say I never hit it once.

"Kid got lucky, that was some complete bullshit!!"

Although I was mad I couldn't help but think of an idea. Kunais. Thanks kid, you just helped me with my next weapon to use. As I was walking home, I noticed a little fox following me.

"Hi there" I turn to it before it gets startled and runs into a bush.

"Alright" I turn back around and start walking away.

"I got to talk to Rias about seeing if she can pull some moves and getting me some kunais"

I grab the little pendant on my necklace.

"I can't let her down"

~Earlier today~

"Hey Y/n I got something for you"
She hands me a necklace with a moon pendant.

"Thanks, what's this for"

"It will give a bit of a boost as well as give you protection from the sword's evil influence on you"

"Thanks" I put the necklace on and instantly feel a lot better.

"Remember to always have it on"

"Alright"

"I got to make sure I get better, Rias needs all of us to be able to beat Riser" as I was talking to myself, I heard a twig break behind me. I turn around and instinctively grab on to the hilt of my sword.

"What?" It's the little fox again. It walks up to me and just stares at me.

"You got a problem with me or something" I stare straight into its big eyes.

"Go away, go to your family" I turn back around and start going on my way when I notice it walking right by me.

"What the hell, look you need to go home" I start running back to the house but this little fox just keeps following me. Not to long I arrive home I open the door and immediately close it.

"Hehehe, I beat you home sucker" I smile proudly.

"Oh hi Y/n" I heard Asia behind me.

"Oh hey A-Aaah!!, what the hell are you-how did you-ah fuck it I give up" this little fox just somehow got in here.

"Oh my goodness he's so cute"

"You can have it"

"Come her little fox" as Asia got closer the fox just gets behind me.

"Ah hell nah, you go with her" as I say that, the fox looks up at me with puppy eyes.

"No, I am not falling for that"

I head to my room with the fox still staring at me. I sit on my bed trying to ignore it as best as I could.

"Alright you can stay, no doing your business on my bed or floor. Go outside or you're out of here, got it"

"Okay"

"Huh?" I was shocked. Did. Did it just talk.

"What's wrong master?" It looked at me tilting its head.

"You just talked, How" I was so confused.

"I don't know"

"I can transform too, want to see"

*poof*

*Cough*

"Why is there always smoke though"

"Are you okay master?"

"Whaa!?" next to me is a beautiful blonde girl with fox tail and ears.

"Why, why does-"

"Master Y/n, Mr Issei's here"

"Hey Y/n wha-WHAAA!!! What the fuck how do you have another one!!!"

"Master is everything okay?"

"Who are you calling Master? that's my master!!"

"Y/n what the hell, I thought we were buddies"

I face palm as I try to process what's occurring.

"So let me get this straight, a fox followed you home, you accepted it and you just found out she's actually a fox spirit"

As I explained everything to Rias, I felt a cold death stare behind me.

"Great. You got another one... Yay" Koneko said in a monotone voice.

"It wasn't my fault, you got to believe me Koneko"

"Well it really isn't your fault Y/n" Rias interrupts me.

"The moon pendant on your neckless does have some appeal on wolves and foxes from what I heard, but didn't believe it"

"Why!? Why wouldn't you believe it"

"Well now you got to take care of her"

"Yes ma'am, by the way Rias I found a new weapon I'd like to use"

"Go ahead"

"Kunais"

"Kunais?"

"Yea I can use them as a way to not be one dimensional"

"Not bad, I'll see if I could get you some"

"Thank you Rias"

"Did you train well?"

"I didn't really work on training. I was busy on thinking about what to use other than a sword"

"I see, but still, you can't just forget to train with your sword. You have to keep training to perfect your use with it"

"Yes Rias, I'll start training on it tomorrow"

"Thank you, was that everything"

"Yes, Im going to go take a shower now" I say heading back out the room before crashing into something.

"Oof"

"Hey watch where you're going"

"Oh, hey Koneko" she was standing in front of me.

"You got a minute?"

"Sure"

"Come with me"

I follow her out the front door. It's the middle of the night now and she leads me to the beach. The moon's at it's closes to earth and looked amazing near the ocean.

"Ok so why did you take me all the way out here for, we could of just talked outside the house"

She just looked at the moon. Honestly it took me a second but looking at her right now with the moon and the stars behind her, she's breath-taking. There is no place I'd rather be then here right now, it's like one of the 7 wonders was right in front of me. She was just so beautiful.

"What?"

"Huh?"

"You kept staring at me"

"Oh, sorry about that"

"Perv"

"Oh come on"

Koneko Pov

"Im sorry its just that, you looked really... Beautiful with the moon just shinning behind you"

I instantly turned around and started feeling my face really hot

"Why"

"Huh?"

"Why do you make me feel like this everytime"

"What do you mean?"

I said too much

"Nevermind let's just go"

"Wait you had something to say to me" be grabs a hold of my arm.

"Oh" I pull my arm away before pulling my thoughts together.

"Well... I.. Don't. I dont want to to soundlike I'm telling you, you can't have familiars but can you uh, not always get girls"

"What?"

"Well remember what you said, you'd always protect me. Ever since you got Nala you haven't been around me as much and I.."

Y/n Pov

I could see she couldn't really explain what she wanted to say. To be honest, my heart started racing as well. She was concerned about Nala and the fox but I couldn't understand why. I felt similarly about her with Issei too and I still don't know why. I want to be around her all the time but I was afraid of what could happen to her if ever open that sword again. What if next time she gets hurt because of it. Right now I didn't care, I felt like I needed to get something off my chest.

"Hey Koneko"

"Yea" she said still turned around. I went and grabbed her hand and turned her around.

"I... I don't really know why I'm going to say this but I feel like I have to say it"

"What is it?" she looked at me confused, hints of red still on her cheeks.

"When I first saw you, when I was being introduced to everyone, I couldn't stop taking my eyes off of you"

"I thought you said you were looking at the chocolate"

"I was nervous, I couldn't take my eyes off of you because there was something about you I couldn't shake off"

"When I was on my supposed death bed, when everyone thought I would be a goner, I heard your voice. Your voice guided me away from death"

She gazed down away from me.

"It wasn't me, Asia is just that great of a healer"

"I had talked with her about it, she told me she couldn't even save me no matter how much she tried"

I place my hand on her cheek and turn her face to me.

"I wouldn't be here if wasn't for you, when you brought me out here I lost my breath the moment I saw you again. I.. I'm terrible at explaining this but" as I take my hand of her cheek, I back look up at the moon.

"I think of you when I look at that"

She turns around to look at it before looking back at me.

"It's a sight to see, just a beauty of nature. Something no god could only dream of but couldn't think of creating"

I look back to meet her gaze.

"I may not be much of a poetic type of guy to really explain what im trying to say, but what I'm trying to say is, that I think you're beautiful" the moment I say that her cheeks getting even redder than before. Mine were too of course.

"How could you just say something like that" she said turning around and walking towards the water"

"I'm not good with words so I'll explain it like this" she turned around puzzled.

"I realized, I belong to you" her eyes got big as she heard what I said.

" I feel the darkness, when away from you"

"But ever since I met you, it's thanks to your smile that my life has sense, it's because of you that sadness left my life forever"

"Y/n I feel the same way" she looked at me and smiled before hugging me.

"I'd go through mountains and oceans, fight gods dragons and devils without exaggerating, all just to look at those beautiful golden eyes of yours, to walk side by side with you, I'd do that and more"

"Keep going" I smile as I can feel her cheeks warming up as I pull her away and look at her in the eyes.

"To make sure that smile stayed, I'd sell the most expensive thing that I have that's my freedom, and it be an honor for me to be your slave in love, all by my will. And if I ever end up in your arms, I'd be the happiest day in my life" as I finish my words the was a slight silence before we start leaning in closer and closer.

...

I kiss her.

After our lips separate, we turn bright red once again before just laughing a little.

"You know Issei may say some dumb things like boobs and all are what he finds beauty in but to me, to me beauty is when her smile is her best curve" I say bluntly before realizing what I said. I turn away before feeling a hug from behind.

"... Thank you"

"No problem. It's time to go home don't you think"

"Yea" we head back to the house holding hands as I pull her close to me. I finally found what I needed in my life. Love. Happiness.. Koneko.
