Chapter 11: He Was Supposed To Be There For Me
The next morning, Becky woke up in Seth's pool house. She looked over and saw Seth was still asleep next to her. Becky gently got out of bed and grabbed her clothes off the ground. She grabbed her shoes and ran out of the the pool house.
"I want him out of this town!" Seth's father, William could be heard yelling inside the house.
"He's just a boy, Will. You can't just banish him away." Olivia reminded him.
Becky crouched down outside the kitchen window and listened to the conversation.
"We made an agreement-." William began to say.
"He's your son, you can't just get rid of him like he's a stray dog." Olivia told him.
"That boy is not my son." William said before storming off.
Becky thought to herself for a moment, not believing what she was hearing.
In the pool house, Seth woke up with a smile on his face. That smile quickly faded when he realized Becky wasn't by his side.
At the cafe, Dean was sitting at the counter, waiting for Becky when Alexa and Sasha walked in together. He turned around and waited for Sasha to give him some kind of acknowledgement but she didn't. Alexa flashed him a polite smile as she sat down with Sasha. Dean took a big sip of his coffee, not sure what happening right now.
At Renee's house, she and Paige woke up in bed together.
"Good morning." Renee said as she smiled over at Paige.
"Um.. Good morning." Paige said awkwardly.
Renee watched her with confusion as she sat up and put her pants on.
"Where are you going?" Renee asked as Paige put on her shoes.
"I'm going home. Don't you have cheer practice?" Paige asked her.
"I do but aren't we going to talk about last night?" Renee asked her.
"What about it?" Paige asked.
Renee stared at Paige in disbelief as she climbed out the window.
"See you later." Paige told her.
Renee's eyes filled with tears as she watched Paige sneak off her front lawn.
After Renee got ready for practice, Dolph pulled up outside.
"Morning." Renee said as she got in the car.
"Good morning, cheerleader." Dolph laughed.
Renee rolled her eyes as she drove away.
"This is kind of cool that we have practice together. Now we can carpool every morning." Dolph said excitedly.
"You're a real dork, man." Renee laughed.
"So how was last night with Paige?" Dolph asked her.
"What?" Renee asked in shock.
"Your little sleepover, how was it?" Dolph asked.
"It was fine." Renee said awkwardly.
Dolph looked over at Renee, unsure why she was so uncomfortable.
Back at the cafe, Becky rushed in from the back. Dean watched her skeptically as she poured herself a cup of coffee.
"Morning, Becks." Dean said.
"Oh, Dean. I didn't know you were here." She said in surprise.
"I came back by last night and you weren't home." Dean told her.
Becky looked at him uncomfortably as she tried to think o a lie.
"My mom wanted me to come down and make sure the cafe was closed up." Becky told him."
"Oh." Dean said.
"She thought she forgot to lock the door." Becky added.
"Right." Dean said, knowing perfectly well that Becky was lying to him.
Becky took a deep breath and tried to get her head straight. She looked over and saw Sasha and Alexa sitting at a table together. Dean saw the look of concern on Becky's face.
"What wrong?" Dean asked her.
"It's nothing. I just didn't realize they were friends again." Becky said uncomfortably.
"Yeah.. Me either." Dean added.
Becky took another deep breath as she made her way over to their table.
"Good morning. What can I get you girls this morning?" Becky asked politely.
Sasha looked up at Becky uncomfortably.
"Um.. I think we are both just going to have coffee, like old times." Alexa told her.
Becky walked away in a hurry and went to the back to get their coffee.
"Are you okay, Becks? You look a little stressed out." Dean asked her.
"I'm fine." Becky said in frustration as tears filled her eyes.
Dean rushed to the back as Becky leaned against the wall.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Dean asked as tears began rushing down her face.
"I just need a minute." Becky assured him.
Dean stood in front of her as she took a deep breath.
"Sit down. I'll get the orders." Dean told her.
Becky let out a sigh of relief and sat down at the counter while Dean got Sasha and Alexa's coffees. He walked over to their table and gave them their orders.
"Hey, guys." Dean greeted them.
"Morning." Alexa said as she smiled up at him.
Dean smiled back at her but he really wanted Sasha to look at him.
"We really don't need you to watch us drink our coffee." Sasha said in annoyance.
Dean looked down at her in confusion before walking away.
"Sasha.." Alexa said.
"I'm sorry, I just can't stand that guy." Sasha told her.
"You can't?" Alexa asked in confusion.
"Look if you like him then that's on you but he's just not my cup of tea." Sasha said as she took a sip of her coffee.
"Oh.. I thought the two of you actually hit it off?" Alexa asked.
"Nope. I mean maybe he thought I was hot but no.. I wouldn't give him the time of day." Sasha assured her.
"And you have a boyfriend." Alexa added.
"Right." Sasha said awkwardly.
Dean returned to the counter and tried to figure out what the hell sasha was trying to do. He took a sip of his coffee as a man delivered a bouquet of white Lillie's. Becky looked up and felt a sharp pain in her chest.
"Rebecca Lynch?" The delivery man asked.
Becky looked up at him but didn't say anything.
"Here." Dean told him.
The man gave Dean the flowers as Becky sat there frozen.
"Becks?" Dean asked in confusion.
"Throw them away." Becky told him.
"What?" Dean asked her.
"Throw them away!" Becky yelled, getting everyone's attention.
Dean did what she said and threw the flowers away. Sasha looked back at Becky with concern.
Suddenly, Seth walked into the cafe with Roman and Miz. Becky looked up at Seth and remembered what happened last night. She tried to look away from him but when she saw Roman walk in behind him she lost it.
"Get out." Becky said as she stood up.
Dean watched as Becky approached Seth and his friends.
"I just want coffee." Roman told her.
"I don't care. You can't be here.. Not today." Becky told him with tears in her eyes.
Seth felt a sharp pain in his chest as he saw the pain in Becky's eyes.
"Becks, whats going on?" Dean asked her.
"I want him out." Becky said as she stared a hole through Roman.
Dean got in Romans face.
"You heard her. Get out." Dean warned him.
Roman looked down at Becky apologetically before leaving peacefully.
Sasha stood up and approached Becky.
"You can't refuse him service." Sasha told her.
Becky looked back at Sasha with frustration.
"You too. Get out." Becky told her.
Sasha's eyes filled with tears as Becky got in her face.
"She was my friend too, you know." Sasha told her.
Everyone looked at Sasha with confusion.
"You heard her, Sasha. Get out." Dean said.
She looked up at him angrily as she stormed out of the cafe.
Miz, Seth, Dean and Alexa all stood there in confusion at what had just happened. Dean looked down at Becky, not sure what was going on with her today.
Seth wanted to talk to Becky but he knew now wasn't the time.
"Let's go." Seth told Miz and Alexa.
Becky watched as they followed Seth out of the cafe. He looked back at her as he got into his car.
"I assume you don't want to tell me what that was about?" Dean asked Becky.
"No." Becky said as she walked away.
Later that morning at practice, Seth approached Roman.
"What was that back at the cafe?" He asked casually.
"Nothing." Roman assured him.
"It didn't look like nothing." Seth said.
"It's nothing, man. Just forget about it." Roman told him before walking away.
Sasha was talking to Alexa when Dean pulled into the parking lot.
"I think I forgot something in your car. I'll be right back." Sasha said before walking away.
She rushed to Dean's car and got in the passenger side.
"I got your text. You've got five minutes." Sasha told him.
"What the hell is going on? Why won't you talk to me? I tried calling you last night." Dean asked her.
Sasha looked up and him and let out a sigh.
"We can't be friend's anymore, Dean." Sasha told him.
"What are you talking about?" Dean asked her.
"Alexa and I are trying to work things out. That can't happen if you and me are doing this.." Sasha tried to tell him.
"And what is this exactly?" Dean asked her.
"You know what I mean." Sasha said.
"No, I really don't." Dean said in frustration.
"She cares about you, Dean. I don't want history to repeat itself." Sasha said.
Dean looked at her in confusion.
"I promise you that there is nothing going on between me and Alexa. I mean we've slept together a few times but that's it. There are absolutely no feelings involved." Dean assured her.
"Maybe not for you." Sasha said as she began to get out of the car.
"Wait. What was that back at the cafe? You told Becky that she was your friend too. Who were you talking about?" Dean asked her.
Sasha looked over at him and let out a sigh.
"Her name was Charlotte. Today would have been her eighteenth birthday." Sasha said.
"Would have been?" Dean asked her.
"She died in a car accident a few months ago." Sasha told him.
Dean's face turned pale as he thought of Becky.
"They were friends?" He asked her.
"Yeah." Sasha told him.
"And you-." Dean began to ask.
"We're not here to talk about me. In fact we are done doing that. I don't need this anymore, okay?" Sasha said as she opened the car door.
"Then who are you going to talk to?" Dean asked her.
"I have Lexi now. I'll be fine." Sasha said as she shut the door and made her way back out to the field.
On the field the guys were about to begin practice when Miz saw the cheerleaders passing around snacks. He saw Alexa reject her snack and got an unsettling feeling in his stomach.
At the cafe, Becky was still having a bad morning when Paige walked into the cafe.
"Is your mother here?" Paige asked her.
"Not right now. Did you need something?" Becky asked as her phone buzzed.
"Feel like taking the day off? I'm outside."
-Dean
"I wanted to talk to her about a job." Paige said.
"You're hired." Becky said as she handed Paige her apron.
Dean was waiting on the sidewalk when Becky walked four of the cafe.
"Sasha told me about your friend." Dean said.
"Of course she did." Becky said in annoyance.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Dean asked her.
"I don't know. I guess I didn't want you to feel bad for me." Becky told him.
"Well I don't." Dean tried to lie.
Becky furrowed her eyes at him for a moment.
"Okay.. maybe I do but I can't help it. You've just been through so much shit and you don't deserve any of it." Dean said.
"Let's walk." Becky told him.
"So you and Charlotte were close?" Dean asked her.
"She was the only friend I had. We spent nearly every summer together at camp." Becky began as they sat down on a bench in the middle of the square.
That day after practice, everyone was ready to head to the diner. Everyone stuffed into their cars, leaving Miz in an awkward situation.
"Um.. hey babe." Miz said as he approached Sasha and Alexa.
"I thought you were riding with Roman?" Sasha asked as she saw Roman pulling out of the driveway.
"I was but Seth beat me to the passenger seat and after that a group of cheerleaders piled in the back." Miz told them.
"So you need a ride?" Sasha asked him.
Miz looked over at Alexa awkwardly.
"It's fine you guys. If things are going to get back to normal between us then that should mean between all of us. You know there was a time when the three of us were all best friends." Sasha said.
"Let's go then." Alexa said with an uncomfortable smile on her face as she got into the drivers seat.
Miz got in the back while Sasha sat up front with Alexa.
As everyone pulled into the diner, Dean and Becky could be seen talking in the park.
"So that's why he no showed today." Seth said in annoyance.
Roman looked over at Dean and Becky uncomfortably for a moment.
"Whatever, let's just go inside." Roman said.
In the square, Becky was telling Dean all about her friendship with Charlotte.
"Before I tell you the next part I think I need to tell you something else." Becky said.
"Okay?" Dean asked curiously.
"The guy I was telling you about.. my ex.." Becky began to say.
"Yeah?" Dean asked.
"It's Roman." She said quickly.
Dean laughed, not believing what she was telling him.
"Okay, funny. Now who is it really?" Dean asked.
Becky looked into his eyes seriously.
"You're serious? Roman as in Roman Reigns?" Dean asked in surprise.
"Yes." Becky said.
"But you wouldn't. I mean he's not you're type, Becks." Dean tried to tell her.
"I have a type?" Becky asked him.
"Yes and it's definitely not Roman Reigns." Dean told her.
"Our grandparents bought a lake house together and we spent all of last summer together." Becky began to tell him.
Dean shook his head in disapproval, still not believing what he was hearing.
"Being away from Arlington Heights allowed us to just be ourselves with each other. Things happened so fast and by the end of the summer we were practically inseparable." Becky told him.
"What happened when you guys came back to town?" Dean asked with concern.
"Things were good for a while. But it got complicated." Becky said.
"You said you guys were sneaking around?" Dean asked her.
"You've met his friends, Dean. You know how they can be." Becky said.
"So he was embarrassed to be seen with you?" Dean asked in annoyance.
"He didn't want me to get hurt." BEcky said.
"So it was Seth that he was worried about? He didn't want Seth to know because he knew Seth wouldn't approve." Dean realized.
"Like I said.. things got complicated." Becky said.
"Becks you didn't deserve that." Dean told her.
"Anyway.. things were good between us until a few months ago. It was a few days after thanksgiving and we had a huge fight.." Becky began to tell him.
Four months ago
After the big basketball game, Becky and Roman had her house to them self's for the night.
"Are you embarrassed to be seen with me? Is that was this is?" Becky asked as they made their way into her bedroom.
"What? No. You know that's not true." Roman told her.
"I'm your girlfriend Roman and we couldn't even go out for dinner on Valentine's Day." Becky said.
"We had dinner." Roman reminded her.
"You mean at your parents guest house? Roman I can't keep hiding like this. I love you and I don't want us to be a secret anymore." Becky told him.
"We've talked about this." Roman said.
"What is Seth going to do to me anyway? Are you really that worried about what he'll do?" Becky asked.
"I don't know what he'll do but I don't want to risk it." Roman said.
"Then why are you friends with him? If he is as bad as you say then why continue being his friend?" Becky asked him.
"Because he's like a brother to me. He's family." Roman told her.
"And what am I? How do you see this working out, Roman? Are we just going to sneak around for the next two years until we go to college?" Becky asked her.
"I don't know." Roman said.
"Is Seth Rollins really worth losing this?" Becky asked him.
"What are you talking about?" Roman asked her with concern.
"It's either me or him, Roman. I'm done hiding." Becky told him.
"No. I'm not choosing. And we're not telling anyone." Roman said.
"Oh, so now you're telling me what to do? Maybe you're more like Seth than I thought." Becky snapped back at him.
"Don't fucking say that." Roman said.
"Why? Do you find it insulting to be compared to him? I mean if he's worth sacrificing everything we have then surly you have some kind of respect for the guy." Becky argued with him.
"I'm not fighting with you about this." Roman told her.
"He and your friends pick on me everyday and you just stand there, Roman." Becky said.
"You don't understand. He's my best friend." Roman told her again.
"It's him or me." Becky said.
"You giving me an ultimatum?" Roman asked her.
"I'm in this one hundred percent, Roman. What about you?" BEcky asked him.
"I'm not choosing." Roman said before walking out the door.
Becky stood there with tears in her eyes as she fell to the floor.
Later that night, Mandy let herself into Roman's house.
"Roman?" Mandy asked in concern as she saw him sitting on the couch with an empty bottle of vodka.
"I guess you're the one that's been calling my phone all night?" Roman asked her.
"Well yeah.. You usually answer, Roman. I was worried about you." Mandy said as she approached him.
"I'm fine." Roman told her.
"You don't look fine. I take it your parents are still out of town?" Mandy asked him.
Roman nodded slowly.
"Are you going to tell me why you're getting wasted by yourself?" Mandy asked him.
"I can't." Roman said as he looked into her eyes.
"Why not?" Mandy asked.
"Because I don't want to hurt you." Roman told her.
"How would you hurt me?" Mandy asked him curiously.
"Because you're in love with me." Roman said.
Mandy looked down at Roman uncomfortably for a moment before sitting down and pouring herself a drink.
"How long have you known?" Mandy asked him.
"A couple years." Roman said.
"What!" Mandy asked in embarrassment.
Roman let out a small chuckle and looked over at her.
"Right. Don't answer that." Mandy said as she realized why he hadn't said anything.
"You're my best friend, Mandy." Roman told her.
"You don't have to do the whole speech. You don't feel the same.. I get it." Mandy said as she took a shot.
"Can I ask you something?" Roman asked.
"Sure." Mandy said.
"Do you think I'm anything like Seth?" Roman asked her.
"Yeah, I think so. I mean you're both great guys." Mandy told him.
"But Seth.. do you think he can be a little cruel sometimes?" Roman asked.
"I think you and I both know Seth has his problems. But everything he does.. it comes from his own insecurities. I don't think he's perfect but no one is when you really think about it." Mandy told him.
"Someone told me that I have more in common with him than I think and now all I can do is think about what he would do in certain situations." Roman said.
"What do you mean?" Mandy asked him.
"Like right now.. I know what he would do in my situation." Roman said as he examined her lips.
"And what's that?" Mandy asked as she looked into his eyes.
Roman leaned in and pressed his lips against Mandy's. Butterflies filled her stomach as Roman took off her top.
"You know this is a really bad idea, right?" Mandy asked him.
"I know." Roman said as they continued making out.
The next morning, Becky walked out of her room with puffy eyes from crying herself to sleep.
"Rebecca." Anna said with reluctance as Becky approached the kitchen.
"What's wrong, mom?" Becky asked with concern.
"There was an accident." Anna told her.
"Roman?" Becky asked.
"It was Charlotte, sweetheart. She's gone." Anna told her.
Becky's eyes filed with tears as her mother comforted her with a hug.
"I have to get out of here." Becky said as she threw on her shoes and a jacket.
"Rebecca." Anna tried to stoped her.
Becky grabbed her mother's car keys and ran outside. She got in the car and sped off down the street with tears in her eyes. A few streets over she pulled up to Roman's house and parked the car. She ran up and knocked on the door.
"Roman! Please open the door!" Becky pleaded.
Inside, Roman was just opening his eyes when he realized what had happened last night.
"I need you." Becky could be heard saying through the door.
Without thinking, Roman rushed over and opened the door. Becky ran into his arms as tears continued rushing down her face.
"It's Charlotte, she-." Becky began to say as she looked over Roman's shoulder and saw Mandy walk out of the kitchen in nothing but his t-shirt.
Mandy froze at the sight of Becky Lynch standing in Roman's doorway.
"Roman?" Becky asked.
He looked back and saw a half naked Mandy standing behind him.
"What's going on?" Mandy asked him.
"That's what is like to know." Becky said as she felt her heart sink down into her chest.
Roman saw the disappointment in Becky's eyes and felt a sharp pain grow in his chest.
"Becks-." Roman began to say.
"No. This is not happening." Becky told herself as she began to walk away.
Roman followed her out onto the lawn helplessly.
"Please let me explain." Roman begged her.
"Did you sleep with her?" Becky asked him.
Roman looked down at Becky but couldn't bring himself to speak.
"Did you!" Becky asked him again.
"I didn't mean for it to happen. You and I had that fight and she was here and all I could was your voice in my head telling me how much I am like Seth and-." Roman tried to explain.
"And what?" Becky asked with tears in her eyes.
"I fucked up." Roman told her.
Becky stared into his eyes helplessly.
"We're done. Don't call me anymore, don't text me, don't show up at my house.. this is completely over." Becky told him.
"Becks, please-." Roman begged as she walked away.
Becky got in the car and drove down the street as tears began to blur her vision. She pulled over on the side of the road and got out of the car. Becky sat down on the road and Leander against the car. All she could think about was Roman with Mandy. Her mind began to race as it became harder to breathe. Tears continued streaming down her face as a car pulled up behind her. Becky looked over in surprise at who got out of the car.
Present day
Dean watched as tears fell down Becky's face.
"I'm so sorry, Becks." Dean said as he leaned in and gave her a hug.
"You're the only person I've told." Becky told him.
"Thank you.. for telling me. It means the world, Becks." Dean told her.
Becky wiped the tears from her eyes and laughed at herself.
"I still can't comprehend you and Roman together but hey, it's not like you were with Seth or anything. That would have really been bad." Dean told her.
Becky looked up at him and faked a laugh.
"Right." Becky said.
"Why don't you wait here and I'll go get us some milkshakes." Dean told her.
"Or we could just go together." Becky told him.
"The football team is in there." Dean said.
"Oh. Then yeah, I'll just wait outside." Becky told him.
They both got up and walked across the street to the diner.
Inside, Roman was sitting with Seth and Miz while Alexa and Sasha sat with Mandy, Nikki, and Renee.
"So Renee, who do you have your eyes on?" Mandy asked her.
"My eyes?" Renee asked her.
"She means boys. Who do you like?" Nikki added.
"Um.. I guess I'm kind of seeing someone but I'm not sure." Renee told her.
"Oh no, sounds like your in trouble." Mandy said.
"I am?" Renee asked in confusion.
"Oh yeah, we've all been there. He wants to hook up but never talk about his feelings?" Mandy asked.
"Well.." Renee tried to think.
"Oh, and does he only call you when he's wasted?" Nikki added.
"Something like that.. yeah." Renee said.
"Girl you've gotta let him no his place. If you think he's worth it then let him know where you stand. You can't let guys walk all over you like that." Mandy told her.
Suddenly, Dean walked into the diner and got in line. Seth and Roman both glanced out the window and saw Becky waiting in the parking lot.
"I'll have two chocolate shakes, please." Dean ordered.
Seth pulled out his phone under the table and text Becky.
"Is everything okay?"
-Seth
He looked out the window but she didn't even look at her phone.
Alexa got up and approached Dean.
"Hey, there." Alexa greeted him.
"Um.. hey." Dean said as he glanced over at Sasha.
Miz looked over at the interaction himself.
"Are you busy tonight?" Alexa asked him.
"Yeah, I was planning on spending the day with Becks." Dean told her.
"Oh, okay. Well if you change your mind.." Alexa began to say.
Sasha watched uncomfortably as Alexa whispered something in Dean's ear. He smiled to himself before Alexa returned to her table. Dean watched her for a second in amusement. His eyes gently wandered over to Mandy and all emotion left his face. All Dean could think about what what Roman did to Becky. He walked casually over to Roman's table.
"Get up." Dean told him.
"What?" Roman asked in confusion.
"Get the fuck up." Dean said again.
Mandy glanced over from her table as Seth and Miz watched Roman stand up and face Dean. Sasha, Alexa, and Nikki all turned their attention to them as well.
"What do you want, Ambrose?" Roman asked him.
Out of no where, Dean punched Roman across the face. Nikki and Mandy stood up with concern as blood covered Roman's teeth.
"I assume you know what that's for?" Dean asked.
Roman nodded his head slowly as tears filled his eyes. Seth looked up at Dean and quickly realized that this had something to do with Becky.
"Orders up!" A man at the counter yelled.
Dean checked his knuckles for blood and grabbed his milkshakes before walking out of the diner.
Everyone watched as Dean approached Becky.
"Here you go." Dean told her.
"Thanks." Becky said.
Dean put his arm around her as they walked away together.
"What the fuck was that?" Miz asked Roman.
"It's nothing." Roman told him.
"Why didn't you kick his ass?" Miz asked Seth.
Seth shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly, not completely upset about what just happened.
"He was too fast man." Seth said with a hint of satisfaction in his voice.
Later that evening, Paige was closing up at the cafe when Anna walked in.
"You're not my daughter." Anna realized.
"I'm sorry. I came in this morning to ask you for a job and Becky was here. She just gave me the job." Paige told her.
Anna looked Paige up and down and saw the hard work she was doing.
"We really aren't looking to hire anyone right now." Anna told her.
"Please, I really need this job." Paige begged her.
"Why do you need it?" Anna asked curiously.
"Things are just a little tight at my house right now. I could really use the extra cash." Paige told her.
Anna looked over and saw something in Paige's eyes that spoke to her.
"Fine. Be here tomorrow morning at six." Anna to her.
"Thank you." Paige said as Anna walked out of the cafe.
Alexa pulled up to Sasha's house to drop her off.
"My mom has cancer." Sasha blurted out.
"What?" Alexa asked in confusion.
"We found out a few weeks ago." Sasha told her.
"Oh my gosh, Sasha. I'm so sorry." Alexa said as she leaned over and comforted her with a hug.
Sasha closed her eyes gratefully as she enjoyed the comfort of her best friend.
In town, Becky and Dean were watching Netflix in her room. Dean's arm was around her as she laid across his chest.
"You know you don't have to babysit me, right?" Becky asked him.
"What are you talking about?" Dean asked as she looked up at him.
"You really don't have any other plans tonight? I mean you've been with me all day, Dean. You even missed practice." Becky said.
"Are you getting tired of me?" Dean joked.
"Not at all. But I know you have to have other plans." Becky said.
Dean looked down at her and thought of Alexa's offer earlier that day.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" Dean asked her.
"I'll be fine, Dean." Becky told him.
Dean got off the bed and smiled softly at her.
"Text me." Dean said.
"Hey.. thank you for being here for me." Becky said.
"Anytime, Becks." Dean told her.
Becky smiled as he walked out of her room. Once she heard his car pull out of the driveway, she got out her phone and text Seth.
"Pool house. Ten minutes."
-Becky
At Renee's house, she was watching Gossip Girl when Paige knocked on her window. Renee paused the tv and waited as Paige crawled into her room.
"What are you doing here?" Renee asked her.
Paige just looked at Renee helplessly.
"I could really use a friend right now." Paige told her.
Renee looked into Paige's eyes and knew she couldn't turn her down.
"I'm watching Gossip Girl." Renee said as she offered Paige a spot next to her on the bed.
Paige smiled politely and got comfortable next to Renee. A small smile came across Renee's face as Paige leaned her head on her shoulder. What Renee couldn't see was that Paige's eyes were filled with tears.
At Roman's house, he was shooting hoops when Mandy walked into the backyard.
"I don't want to talk to you, Mandy." Roman said.
Mandy stood there for a moment in disappointment.
"You're an idiot, you know that?" Mandy said.
Roman looked over at her in confusion.
"I heard what happened at the cafe this morning. Even I had enough common sense to stay away today." Mandy told him.
"I sent her sympathy flowers." Roman said.
"If you love her then don't give up. She's worth the chase." Mandy told him.
"She wants nothing to do with me." Roman said.
"If she doesn't see what a great guy you are then maybe she isn't as amazing as you say. Anyone would be lucky to be with you, Roman." Mandy said.
"Why's are you telling me this?" Roman asked her.
"Because believe it or not, I actually want you to be happy." Mandy said before walking away.
Roman stood there for a moment trying to comprehend what Mandy had just told him.
Dean pulled up to Alexa's house just as she was getting home.
"You changed your mind." Alexa said as she got out of her car.
Dean approached her with a smile on his face.
"I did." Dean said as he faced her.
Alexa leaned up and pressed her lips against his. Dean held her against the side of the car as they began to make out.
Around the corner, Miz parked his car. He didn't want to risk anyone to seeing his car at Alexa's house. He walked down the street, hoping to talk to Alexa. Miz stopped when he saw Alexa kissing Dean. A sharp pain grew in his chest as he watched as he girl he lived with someone else. Miz walked back to his car with tears in his eyes.
Becky let herself into Seth's pool house to find him in a pair of sweatpants without a shirt.
"Hi." Becky said as he got up from the couch.
"Hey." Seth said uncomfortably.
Becky stared at him for a moment with butterflies in her stomach.
"I don't know why I came here." Becky told him.
"I do." Seth said as he walked over to her.
He looked down at her and pressed his lips against hers. Becky's mind went blank as Seth pulled away from her. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"I ordered pizza." Seth told her as he opened the door.
"What? But I thought-." Becky began to say.
