{Part Two}
The rain was still coming down hard. The wind picked up, blowing her hair into her face.
Texas huffed and pulled her jacket tighter around herself. Rain itself didn't bother her, it was just the wind. On occasion, it helped hide her from her enemies. But away from those occasions, it messed her up and wrecked her train of thought. When you were a trained fighter, you had to learn to cope in any situation, good or bad. While she did learn how to do that, she never quite got to the part where you learned to ignore them.
Her feet made little sound as she made her way to the Logistics. A conversation was in dire need of having between her and Logistics management. The pharmaceutical company they exploded, while that was an accident in itself, was undergoing major cleanup after one of their drugs killed several people. The Logistics was only trying to do the right thing. It's not like they held the company at gunpoint and demanded them be exposed for there fraudulent behavior.
She brushed her thoughts aside and jogged the rest of the way.

Stepping inside the Penguin Logistics headquarters, Texas became surrounded by her fellow Vanguards.
A few were scattered throughout the reception office, some lounging in the waiting room chairs while others were playing cards. Texas never payed much thought to them. They didn't bother her, so she didn't care much about what they did. She peeled her hood off her head, her ears springing up and catching every snippet of every conversation.
"Dude, did you hear the news? We might get shut down." One girl said.
"I'm so tired. This rain ruined my nap." Another girl whined.
"Eh, I like the rain. It's refreshing." A boy replied."
"As I was saying, I....Texas!" A shrill voice echoed throughout the room. Several people perked up at the name, others completely freezing in their jobs to turn and stare. Texas grimaced. She knew that voice.
Exusiai hurried over, waving her phone wildly. Her dark hot pink hair was flying everything, her holographic halo and angel wings struggling to keep up with her pace. Texas sighed. There was no use in trying to ignore Exusiai. Her voice was known to wake a bear during hibernation.
"Texas, Texas, Texas! Look! Did you read the news article? It's about the Logistics being shut down after that bomb went off!" Exusiai exclaimed in one breath, sliding to a halt in front of her.
"Yes, I-" Texas began, but Exusiai just kept talking, her eyes glued to her phone.
"I mean, can you believe it? After all we've done for Rhode Island, this is what we get! I mean, I'm not saying it's anyone's fault, but Aak should have thrown the grenade into the boiler like we all said, but when has he ever listened to us? You should have seen Lappland getting all aggressive with the press, her teeth bared and claws ready to maul. It was pretty scary."
Texas perked up at that name. "Exusiai, did you say Lappland?"
Exusiai nodded. "Yep. She told the press to either back off or pick a weapon and meet her in the training room. You should have seen the terrified looks of the press. The way they ran was hilarious. Here, I have it on video if you...hey, where are you going?"
Texas broke into a jog, heading down the corridor to the training barracks. Lappland. I should have figured she would be the one on that mission. She's the most impulsive and jerkish member of the Logistics. While annoying and impeccably intolerable, she does hone a strong willed spirit and impressive attack power. But her aggressive and hostile nature always put her off track. Causing her to collide into Texas like always.
