{Part 15}
"Did it get hotter?" Sora whined. She started dramatically fanning herself with her hand.
Texas, too, felt a new wave of heat. It was definitely a relief from the cold weather of Rhode Island. Several kids were running around with their parents hurrying to catch up. Birds were perched on telephone poles, staring at people, possibly planning on who's day to ruin.
Lappland trudged behind everyone else, a large duffle bag in her hand. Beagle had suggested that they hide their weapons, so as not to start a panic or scare anyone. While Texas didn't like parting with her swords, she knew Beagle had a point. So they stashed all their weapons and had Lappland carry it. They hoped the weight of it would take her mind off of bickering with Red, who she despised for some reason.
They followed Red's lead as they made their way along the sidewalk. With some time to think, Texas let her mind wander. So. We arrive in Boston and come across fellow Logistics staff members, albeit distant ones. I must say, I am surprised. While I knew we'd eventually find something worthwhile, I never expected to meet Beagle and her ragtag crew. Not that our team is much better. Especially with the little hunting experience Sora has. I know she only wanted to come because she's friendly that way, but I'm afraid her friendliness is going to get her hurt. Croissant is strong and skilled, so I don't have to worry about her. Exusiai is skilled as well, but easily distracted. She is good with guns, I must admit. But if she were to see a puppy in the middle of a gunfight, she would most definitely want to play with it.
Lappland is another story. She is strong, determined, sarcastic, skilled is melee combat and strategically accurate when it comes to a one-on-one fight. But her personality is going to annoy me to no end. I still can't deduce the fact of why she even wanted to come. She has demonstrated very impressive destructive prowess in tactical assaults, as well as search-and-destroy missions. But her impulsive personality and jerkish behaviors will get her into a heap of trouble.
"How much farther until the airport?" Croissant asked. She wasn't known patience. Texas was surprised she made it this far without much complaints.
"You see that building up ahead? The one with a glass roof?" Red pointed ahead of them to a large building just barely peeking over the tops of other buildings. It was clear and dome shaped, the sunlight perfectly reflecting off of the pristine glass roof. It was almost blinding.
"That's so far!" Sora whined and rugged at Texas's sleeve. "Hey, can we stop somewhere? I'm tired and hungry."
"Same," Lappland grumbled from the back. Soon, everyone was arguing about what fast food place to stop at. Texas sighed heavily. The perils of being a leader involved feeding your team. She reached into her bag and began counting her money while her team argued. Might as well plan ahead. She, too, was feeling hungry. Maybe just a quick stop will help calm everyone down.
Sooo sorry, I know this chapter was short. I'm working on my first Sonadow story, so updates for this story may be affected. I'll try to make it funnier and more action packed. I'll also introduce more of the iconic Arknights characters, so stick around. Don't forget to vote, please!
