Alright, everyone. It's time for Modern Warfare 2!

Lungmen

After several days of travel, Rhodes Island finally reached the nomadic city of Lungmen. The landship was docked near the outskirts, connected to the city by a bridge.

Once docking was complete, the logistics operators got to work, transferring supplies for delivery or trade with Lungmen and the LGD. Some of the operators took the chance to visit the city, whether to go shopping, sightsee the sprawling metropolis, or visit relatives living there.

Meanwhile, Hoshiguma and Swire were exiting the landship, with Ch'en following behind. Now that they had arrived in Lungmen, the two LGD officers needed to return to their posts and check on any LGD activities from the past few weeks.

Swire turned to the former LGD officer. "Well, this is where we part ways again."

"Are you sure you don't want to come with us into Lungmen?" Hoshiguma asked.

Ch'en shook her head. "Sorry, I don't feel like stepping foot in the city. After all, I'm still an infected."

"I did cover your tracks with the LGD, you know," Swire reminded her.

"I appreciate it, but I still need time before I can properly visit again," Ch'en replied.

"Your choice." Swire shrugged before heading off the landship.

"Take care, Ch'en," Hoshiguma waved as she followed Swire, the two heading back to the city. Ch'en sighed softly as she watched her friends and former colleagues leave once again.

Bagpipe, who had been watching from nearby, came over and stood beside her. "Partin' ways again, aye?" she asked.

"Yep. They've got their duties in the LGD," Ch'en said.

"Well, why didn't ye go with 'em?" Bagpipe asked.

"Like I said, I've got too many bad memories in that city, especially after what happened during Reunion's attack. Plus, the truth about me being infected..." Ch'en explained.

"That was over a year ago, lass," Bagpipe pointed out. "Surely, the LGD's moved on from that. Ye're still the tough, no-nonsense Chenchen I knew back in school."

Ch'en gave a small smile. "You're probably right, but I'm just not ready to step foot in the city yet."

"Fair enough." Bagpipe shrugged before adding, "Fancy grabbin' a bite at the café?" Ch'en nodded in agreement, and the two began walking back toward the landship.

As they walked, Bagpipe brought up another subject. "By the way... when are ye gonna talk to her?" she asked, gesturing with her head toward a certain part of the landship.

Ch'en's expression shifted as she glanced down. "When I have the time." Although she was herself again, it would take time before she could speak to her like old times.

As the two walked off, a group of operators made their way toward the landship. It was the three members of Lee's Detective Agency (LDA) - Hung, Waai Fu, and Aak.

"Remind me why we're here again?" Aak asked, clearly bored.

"Lee said something about a job cooperation with Rhodes Island," Hung replied.

"After all, we are part-time operators here," Waai Fu added.

"This place is massive, but sometimes I struggle to find anything fun to do—unless it involves Warfarin and the medbay," Aak muttered, grumbling under his breath.

"You need to find better hobbies than just your weird science experiments," Hung said.

"It's what I do, alright?" Aak shot back. "And what's this cooperation about?"

Waai Fu shrugged. "No idea. Lee didn't give us any details."

"Well, it must be important," Hung remarked. "Besides, I enjoy visiting the landship, even if it's just for a short stay."

"You only say that because you want your cooking served in the cafeteria," Aak teased, rolling his eyes.

"Hey, these Rhodes Islanders deserve quality Yanese food. Probably better than what they usually get," Hung said proudly.

Gummy, who was passing by and overheard their conversation, let out a scoff. "Speak for yourself," before walking away.

Waai Fu spoke up. "Well, if we want to find out, we should go inform the Doctor and that Amiya girl so we can..." She trailed off as her eyes caught sight of someone. "Oh, hey, Jaye!"

Hung and Aak turned toward the entrance as they spotted Jaye carrying a plastic bag. Jaye gave Waai Fu a quick wave before making his way toward the group.

Hung and Aak greeted him too with a wave with the former saying, "Hey, Jaye. What are you doing here?"

"Someone ordered a delivery of two packs of sushi here." Jaye responded, holding the said bag with the food he mentioned.

"Huh, who ordered it?" Aak asked.

"I did!" a voice called out. The LDA trio and Jaye turned to see Blaze approaching, with Greythroat by her side.

"Miss Blaze, right?" Jaye asked, glancing at the note he'd made for the order.

"The one and only," Blaze replied proudly. "Got my food?"

Jaye nodded, handing her the bag. "Here. Two deluxe packs, as ordered."

Blaze's eyes lit up as she took the bag, already eyeing the sushi hungrily. "By the way, how'd you get my number?" Jaye asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You can thank Inspector Hoshiguma for that." Greythroat said with a small smile.

"Figures." Jaye muttered.

Blaze, meanwhile, turned to Hung, Waai Fu, and Aak. "So, what brings you three here?"

"Our boss mentioned some sort of cooperation with Rhodes Island," Aak said, sounding unimpressed.

"Yeah, but he didn't give us any real details," Hung added.

Blaze smirked in amusement. "Well, sounds to me like he invited you guys to watch the Modern Warfare trilogy with us."

The LDA trio and even Jaye blinked, all looking confused. Waai Fu raised an eyebrow. "A what now?"

"Blaze, I'm pretty sure that's not what this is about," Greythroat said, shaking her head.

Blaze crossed her arms confidently. "Hey, I'm tight with Amiya and the Doctor. If there was a 'job cooperation' between us and the LDA, trust me, I'd know about it."

"As Waai Fu was asking, what's this Modern Warfare trilogy you were talking about?" Hung asked, still puzzled.

Blaze jumped in with enthusiasm. "Long story short, a few weeks ago, Nian got this tape from a friend of hers. It's got the Modern Warfare trilogy on it—an alternate universe of Terra where Originium and Oripathy don't exist. That means no catastrophes, no nomadic cities, none of it."

Greythroat added, "Another big difference is how everyone in that universe uses firearms. Since there's no Originium, they don't need Arts or crossbows. Guns work just like regular weapons, so no need to use melee weapons or crossbows anymore."

"And the best part?" Blaze grinned, clearly excited. "The trilogy is gonna have us in it! Amiya and a few others showed up in the first movie, and there's a good chance that me, you, and the rest of us will appear too."

The LDA trio and Jaye paused to process all of this. Aak looked amazed. "Wow... that's an interesting universe."

"Wait a minute, how do you know Lee sent us here to watch it?" Hung asked.

Blaze shrugged. "Nian said she wasn't the only one delivering these tapes. Apparently, her friend and others are spreading them in secluded locations all over Terra. Maybe one of them sent a copy to Lee."

"And he didn't tell us?" Waai Fu asked, frowning.

Blaze and Greythroat exchanged a look, then both shrugged.

"Damn, old fool could've saved us from being bored," Aak muttered.

"Hey, cut him some slack," Hung defended. "He's probably busy and just forgot."

"Even if he did, why didn't he tell us before we got here?" Waai Fu asked.

"You probably wouldn't have believed him," Blaze said, and Greythroat nodded in agreement.

"Well, if that's the case, then I want to join in on watching this universe," Aak said, an excited grin spreading across his face.

"Yeah, me too." Waai Fu agreed.

"Don't forget me." Hung chimed in.

Jaye, however, remained indifferent. "Whatever. I'm heading out." he said, turning away as the group watched him leave.

"Jaye, come on! It'll be fun!" Blaze called after him.

"No thanks," was his curt reply as he continued walking toward the bridge.

Aak scoffed, "Mood pooper."

Hung turned back to Blaze and asked, "So, when do we start watching this MW universe?"

"Usually, Amiya or the Doctor announces it to everyone interested," Blaze replied.

Right on cue, the Rhodes Island PA system crackled to life, and Amiya's voice came through. "Good afternoon, operators of Rhodes Island. While we're in the middle of a busy task with Lungmen, we've made time to begin another session for the Modern Warfare trilogy. As usual, please head to the hangout area where we'll set up the screens—hopefully enough for everyone to see. The session begins at 3 PM, an hour from now. Anyone interested is welcome to join. See you there."

As the announcement ended, Blaze turned to the three with a smirk. "Looks like the timing's perfect."

"Oh hell yeah, sign me the fuck up!" Aak exclaimed, taking off in a sprint—only to head in the wrong direction. Blaze, Greythroat, Waai Fu, and Hung exchanged confused glances as they watched him run off before Greythroat spoke up.

"That's not the right way, Aak."

Realizing his mistake, the feline quickly returned, rubbing his arm sheepishly. "R-Right... lead the way, Blaze."

Blaze chuckled, clearly amused. "Don't worry, Aak. I know how you're feeling. Alright, let's head out."

"I'll catch up later," Waai Fu said as she began heading in the opposite direction. "I'm going to find Jaye and convince him to join us."

"Alright, we'll see you there," Hung replied, giving her a wave as she ran toward the bridge leading to Lungmen, hoping Jaye hadn't gotten too far.

The remaining four then continued their way to the hangout area.

After informing the operators about their next viewing session of the Modern Warfare universe, the Doctor and Amiya took their break and headed to the hangout room at 3 PM as told.

Eagerness lit up their faces as they finally got to watch the sequel of the Modern Warfare universe. Sure, they could've watched it by themselves, but that wouldn't have been fair since other operators were involved in the universe too.

"I can't wait to see what happens in this sequel," Amiya said, excitement written all over her face.

"Let's not get too hasty, Amiya. We haven't even started it yet," the Doctor replied.

"I know, I know..." Amiya rubbed the back of her neck, blushing slightly. "I'm just really getting hooked on my character, especially since she's the only survivor right now."

"I see your point."

"And I'm still curious about your role in this universe. I hope you'll show up in this sequel," she added.

"Well, let's hope so." Amiya and the Doctor continued their walk to the hangout room.

When they reached the area, it is crowded with dozens of operators as expected, all are eager to see the universe.

It composes of the familiar faces that watched the first movie, those being: Ch'en, Bagpipe, Folinic, Hellagur, Blaze, Greythroat, Yato, Noir Corne, Rangers, Dylan, Dobermann, Dur-Nar, the reserve team operators of A1, A4, and A6, Vulcan, and Ethan

There were also new faces that decide to join, those being: Hung, Waai Fu, Aak, Jaye, Scavenger, Red, and Provence.

The Doctor and Amiya went to the center spot where Folinic, Ch'en, Bagpipe, Dobermann, Dur-Nar and Hellagur were. Bagpipe and Blaze change their spots to make room for the two leaders as they sat down.

"Kal'tsit isn't joining?" Folinic asked.

"No. As usual she wants to keep eye on work stuff, especially logistics to the city of Lungmen." Amiya explained.

"Closure is busy with it too." Doctor added.

"Shame, the two should experience this first time." Dur-Nar said,.

"Yeah, but work comes first for them." Bagpipe replied.

"So, how long should we wait before starting this session?" Ch'en asked.

"Seven minutes is enough." Amiya said as they all sat back and wait.

Meanwhile, the other operators were having their usual conversations as they waited for the session to start. The room buzzed with speculation about the sequel, with everyone wondering if they'd play a role in it.

"Why did you drag me into this?" Jaye asked Waai Fu, his usual blunt, tired expression in place. She had convinced him to stay in the landship for the session. "You know I still have work to do."

"Don't worry, Jaye. I already talked to Uncle Tung about it," Waai Fu reassured him. "Even though he wasn't thrilled, he agreed that you deserve a two-hour break."

"Yeah, my dude. You've been workin' your whole life, look at those bags under your eyes," Aak chimed in, pointing at his tired eyes. "It's like Lungmen's entire economy depends on you or somethin'."

"I'm just a little overworked," Jaye said flatly.

"Doesn't look like 'a little' to me, buddy." Hung remarked. "Even the hardest worker in Terra needs a good break—an hour or two to recharge so they can get back to it stronger."

Jaye sighed, crossing his arms. "Fine, fine. Hope watching this whole MW universe thing is worth it..."

Blaze, feeling her usual excitement, turned to Greythroat and the A4 reserve team sitting nearby. "I am so pumped to see this sequel!" she exclaimed.

"You already said that before we got here." Greythroat replied, rolling her eyes.

"That's exactly why!" Blaze shot back, grinning. She then turned to the reserve A4 members. "What about you guys?"

"While we're not as pumped as you are, I'm definitely excited." Ansel said.

"Same here. I really hope I make an appearance." Steward added. "Doesn't matter if it's a major or minor role."

"Don't forget me!" Cardigan interjected with a bright smile. "I cannot wait to see what my alternate self does in this universe. Oh, I so hope it's me driving some super-fast vehicle—maneuver warfare style!"

"If we get to appear at all." Adnachiel said, a bit more cautiously.

"I'm sure we will," Melantha replied. "This universe has plenty of characters who are our comrades, so there's a good chance."

"I'd say a 75% chance," Ansel chimed in.

"Hey, where are Barty and Chard?" Rangers asked Dylan.

"They went out on a field mission two days ago, heading toward Victoria, I think." Dylan replied.

"That's a shame. They picked the worst time for that mission. Would've been great if we were all here to watch the sequel together," Noir commented.

"I gotta admit, the hangout area is always jam-packed during these watch sessions," Yato said.

"Yeah, you're right," Dylan agreed with a nod, muttering, "At least they won't feel clogged up on thinking and writing of each and everyone's thoughts."

Meanwhile, with the A6 crew, Orchid noticed that Popukar was there again with the rest of her team. She turned to her teammates and asked, "Why is she here again?"

"Hey, she's been watching this universe for a while now," Midnight defended.

"Yeah, she deserves some entertainment," Catapult agreed.

"But she can still have fun hanging out with Ceobe and Bubble," Orchid argued.

"Don't blame us," Spot said, gesturing toward Popukar. "She wants to see more of the MW universe."

"I-I know hanging out with my friends is fun, but I'm just curious about this... altinative universe. I want to learn more about it," Popukar said.

"Alternative, dear Popukar," Midnight corrected gently. He turned to Orchid. "Come on, let the kid choose what she wants. Let her have her own fun."

Orchid sighed. "If you say so." She then turned to Popukar. "Just remember to cover your eyes and ears if you find some of the scenes a little... disturbing."

"Way ahead of that." Spot remarked.

In another spot, Provence, Scavenger, and Red sat together—three of the newcomers, aside from the LDA. Provence turned to the Zalak and said, "You know, Skyfire told me about this Modern Warfare universe when it was introduced. I wasn't really interested at first, but eventually, I got curious enough to check it out."

"Good for you," Scavenger replied. "I've only watched a few scenes myself, with Vulcan and Closure's permission since we were busy. It's a pretty decent world." She added, though it had cut into her work time a little.

Provence then briefly glanced at Red, who was somehow sitting sideways on the wall. "Why... did you bring her along?" she asked in a slightly nervous tone.

"She's my SWEEP partner," Scavenger explained. "And she's curious about the alternate MW world too."

"I-I see," Provence muttered, still a bit uneasy. Then, tilting her head, she asked, "But why are you here? I thought you weren't that curious about this alternate universe."

Scavenger paused for a moment, her face flushing with a hint of embarrassment. Provence had hit the nail on the head—she wasn't particularly interested in the MW world. But since she'd heard Provence was attending the session, she felt compelled to follow her crush.

"I... I just got curious today," Scavenger smiled nervously, hoping that excuse would suffice.

When the seven minutes are up, Amiya does what she always does, getting infront of the whole crowd and began her usual brief speech. Of course, she wouldn't ignore the newcomers, telling them how glad she is of them to decide to join them.

After the one-minute speech, Amiya went back to her spot as Vulcan, who was nearby the light switch, turned them off. Doctor then grabbed the remote and turned the screen on.

The screen brought them to the grey foggy lobby as the Doctor move to the MW2 section that has the two shadowed figures and one of them bearing a skull marking bandana.

With that, the Doctor pressed the button, beginning the sequel of the MW universe.

___________________________

The screen was black for a moment until the audience sees the following words materializing in green.

Modern Warfare 2

"For the Record"

The screen then changes to a dark map of the terran world. The audience couldn't seen anything other than green dots.

Moments later, the MW2 theme began to play, getting some interested reactions.

"He-hey, we're about to get something good." Blaze remarked with a smile.

"Up to a good start with the music." Folinic commented.

"I'm now intrigued." Hung said.

"Me too." Vulcan replied.

The next scene shows a pole with both the Victorian flag and a Rhodes Island flag below it. Bagpipe's voice spoke up, "It's the FNG, sir."

It is followed by an image of Ch'en with her gas mask on top of her head, "What the hell kind of name is Amiya?" She said.

"Is this gonna recall the events from the previous movie?" Rangers asked.

Noir answered with a nod. "Looks like it."

"Why though? We've already seen it." Catapult said.

"Ahem." Spot motioned the kuranta to the new faces, who all turn to her.

"Oh, right. Sorry!"

"No worries. It's nothing." Waai fu replied.

The scene moves around the globe filled with green dots and moving lines until it shows the next scene in the Coup mission where Drudge Tulla stops infront of Patriot as the latter gives him the desert eagle.

The next scene shows Drudge taking the desert eagle, then the scene shows the execution of his sister - Picale, in her perspective.

"This is how it begins." Drudge said before firing the desert eagle.

"I can still feel that shot going through me." Dur-Nar said with Dobermann nodding in agreement.

The scene changes after the gunshot as the audience then hears Ch'en's voice. "Folinic's in hell right now. We're gonna walk her out..." The scene then changes to the Blackout mission where the squad manages to find Folinic. "We take care of our friends."

"You know, I'm still wondering when will I appear again in this MW series." Folinic said, after recalling the last time she appeared which was at the Leithanien safehouse.

"Perhaps in this sequel." Amiya replied.

Right after that, the screen changes to the mission - Shock and Awe, where the nuclear explosion happened and how FEater, Lin, and Swire perished from it. It then brings up to Lin's perspective as she sees the destruction up-close before collapsing.

Most of the operators frowned, recalling of what happened in that moment. Ch'en shaking her head of what Lin and the others had to suffer.

"Buldrokkas'tee. The Patriot." Ch'en said as a scenario appeared of him during the deal with the Luscinian mercenaries in One Shot, One Kill.

Another scene showed up with Ch'en aiming at the Reunion leader as the audience hears her breathing along with her loading up the sniper before taking the shot, although it was cut off to the next scene right after.

"Didn't expect it to be censored." Spot chuckled.

"You have to admit, that scene was pretty graphic." Vulcan said as she glanced at her prosthetic leg.

"Wouldn't let the young ones see it." Orchid muttered, glancing at Popukar that was fixated on the intro and the song.

After a few moments later, the screen then shows Frostnova falling to the ground after shooting herself, "My blood...on their hands." Patriot said.

Doctor and Amiya glance at eachother, the latter having a sad frown on her face. While hidden behind the mask, the Doctor was giving the same look as her.

The audience continued to watch the intro, seeing the screen passing the world of Terra filled with green dots and moving lines. It then shows the missiles from Ultimatum launching to the skies.

"Delta one X-Ray, we have a missile launch! I repeat, we have a missile..." Ch'en called out before the scene changes to the final mission

It shows the moment where Patriot walks up to Bagpipe before putting a bullet to the head, and then it follows with Hoshiguma getting shot to the chest.

Bagpipe exhaled deeply, recalling how her character met its end in the first movie. "They really are showing everything from the first one."

"It's giving us newcomers a solid recap of what went down," Jaye commented.

After the deaths of the two main characters, the scene then showed Ch'en using all of her strength to push the pistol towards Amiya's position.

Then the scene changes to the said character aiming the pistol to Patriot, the latter turning back in shock. Like in the first modern warfare, he tried to fire his deagle, but Amiya was quicker as she shot first, ending the scene right after.

"That's one way to wrap up the intro," Scavenger remarked.

"He was the bad guy, after all." Red added.

"Gotta admit, I really like the music for this intro." Dobermann commented.

"Same here. It gives off those action-packed vibes," Dur-Nar agreed.

"I can already tell the soundtrack's gonna be incredible." Ethan chimed in.

The screen then fades to black, with the audience thinking it was already over, until another green inscription appeared.

5 Years Later

"Oh, 5 years later?" Amiya said.

"Seems a reasonable timeskip." Doctor replied before theorizing of what has happened the past 5 years.

"5 years later means our bunny girl would become a team leader." Blaze remarked, glancing at Amiya.

"After all, she was the only survivor." Ch'en said, making her to frown a bit thinking how her character might've died aswell.

"Ah don't say that, chenchen." Bagpipe assured. "I'm sure you made it aswell."

After a few moments, the scene then changes to a satellite view of the world of Terra in the MW universe. Immediately, the camera zoomed in to Ursus and to their capital city - Deity Grypherburg.

The audience were curious why the satellite focuses on Ursus again, that is until a familiar voice spoke up. "The more things change, the more they stay the same. Boundaries shift, new players step in, but power always finds a place to rest its head."

Some of the operators, mostly those from Lungmen, immediately recognized the voice. "Was that... Wei Yenwu?" Amiya asked, her tone uncertain.

"It was," Ch'en confirmed, instantly recognizing it. "I didn't expect him to show up."

"To be fair, he is an important figure in Lungmen, being the leader and all," the Doctor pointed out.

"Makes sense for the lore of this universe." Hellagur added.

"We fought and bled alongside the Ursines. We shoulda known they'd hate us for it." Wei said as the satellite stops into a location. It then zooms in to the red square where the audience could see a crowd of Ursine people, some waving the national flag of Ursus.

Wei continued, "History is written by the victor, and here I am thinking we'd won. But you bring down one enemy and they find someone even worse to replace him."

Most of the operators were growing uneasy about Wei's choice of words.

"What's he talking about?" Dur-Nar wondered aloud.

"I'm not sure, but I've got a bad feeling, especially with the map pointing to Ursus of all places," Dobermann said, her voice laced with concern.

"Well, the sequel is set five years after the first game," Yato reminded them. "A lot can happen in that time."

The camera then pans to the covered statue that the crowd was gathering before zooming in to the guards around the statue.

There was also a wording in Ursine carved to the statue, but the ones that know the language didn't get the time to read it as the scene changes to the statue getting uncovered while the Ursine people seems to already be celebrating.

"Locations change, the rationale, the objective. Yesterday's enemies are today's recruits." The camera slowly pans upwards to the statue, slowly revealing who the person is. "Train them to fight alongside you, and pray they don't eventually decide to hate you for it too."

The statue reveals of a familiar man holding a halberd while riding on a horse. It was then followed by the Ursine inscription carved out to the statue as the satellite cam translates it.

"Buldrokkas'tee - Hero of the New Ursus"

Needless to say, all the operators (except the new ones) were visibly stunned.

"Wait, what?? Reunion won?!" Blaze shouted in disbelief.

"How is that even possible? Didn't Amiya kill their leader and leave the organization leaderless?" Folinic asked, baffled.

"And why is Buldrokkas'tee labeled as a hero in this universe?" Bagpipe questioned, recalling how his alternate self had tried to kill millions over the loss of his daughter.

"There's a saying about war: 'History is written by the victors,'" Hellagur said calmly. "Since Reunion and the Ultranationalists won, they get to twist the truth, portraying Patriot as a noble warrior in this universe—even though that's far from the reality."

"If Reunion won here, it means Dobermann's death and the others' sacrifices were for nothing," Rangers said, stirring anger in several operators.

"This is absolute bullcrap." Noir Corne growled.

"I hear you," Dylan agreed, shaking his head. "Lucky for us, Chard and Barty aren't here to witness this."

"We'll have to break it to them, though."

The scene then changes into a new emblem for this sequel. It is a star that has gold outlines accompanied with two crossed T91 assault rifles and an inscription in the middle that says "Ranger".

It was followed with two inscriptions. One being the military branch of the emblem, and the other is a name that some of the lungmenites are familiar of.

YANESE ARMY RANGERS

"PFC. Jaye"

"Wait, seriously?" Jaye asked, surprised to find out he was one of the characters.

"Well, would you look at that, Jaye," Aak said with a smirk. "You're gonna be one of the main characters."

Waai Fu giggled. "I knew there was a good reason to bring you along."

"Good for you, man," Hung chimed in, smiling.

"I mean, I'm interested now, but I still have some work to—" Jaye was cut off as Waai Fu playfully covered his mouth.

"Jaye, just be quiet and enjoy your break."

"Rangers, huh?" Ch'en noted of the new military branch. "Pretty interesting."

"Must be another branch in the Yanese military." Bagpipe suggested.

"Hey, wait a second, this military branch has the same name as your codename, Rangers." Noir said to the old savra with a chuckle.

"Oh yeah, I just realized that," Dylan replied, laughing.

"Well, I'll be damned." Rangers commented, a bit surprised to see his codename featured in the Yanese military. Some of the operators chuckled at the realization.

"Looks like the Yanese military really honored you in this universe," Yato joked.

The satellite shifted away from Deity Grypherburg all the way to the west of Sargon, zooming in to a Yanese base in that region. The audience notice that it is going to a country called 'Ibut'.

The following inscriptions then appeared,

Located...
PFC. Jaye
1st BN., 75th Ranger Regiment
Fire Base Phoenix

"Same shit, different day." Wei stated, "You know what I'm looking for Sergeant Hung. Keep your eyes open."

"Got a new batch hittin' the pit today, Sir. I'll send you the best I find." The aforementioned person responded as the satellite then stops at Jaye's location at the base.

Hung's face lit up. "Oh, there's me. Awesome!"

"Alright, LDA's showing up one by one. I know I'm next!" Waai Fu grinned.

"But I'm not part of your little organization." Jaye pointed out, only for Aak to cut him off.

"You're an honorary member, my dude. Just roll with it." Aak said, secretly hoping he'd make an appearance too.

"The Yanese built a base on this Ibut country? Why?" Orchid asked.

"Based on the almanac Spot and I read last week, Ibut is one of the countries where the OpFors escaped to." Catapult explained.

"Which means the Yanese spotted their activity there and got permission from the Ibutan government to send in the Yanese Rangers to help." Ch'en assumed.

"These guys are always causing trouble." Blaze muttered, shaking her head.

The screen was black for a few moments until it fades in to Jaye's first person perspective. Jaye was currently standing behind a table that has a T91 along with a small crate.

Beside his left was Hung wearing the standard Yanese Rangers uniform while holding another T91 rifle in hand.

And to his right was an Ibutan vouivre wearing a desert military gear, but has some Yanese elements. He acts as a translator for the group of six Ibutans of various races that were infront of the three.

"Woah, Hung. You look awesome." Aak commented of his attire.

"Uh, thanks?" was his reply, even if it just another version of himself.

"Welcome to 'Pull the Trigger 101'." Hung proclaimed to the Ibutan recruits as the translator repeated what he said.

"Private Jaye here is gonna do a quick weapons demonstration to show you locals how its done," he explained. "No offense, but I see a lot of you guys firing from the hip and spraying bullets all over the range. You don't end up hitting a damn thing and it makes you look like an ass."

"Is this going to be another training tutorial mission thing?" Catapult asked, her expression showing clear displeasure.

"Looks like it." Dobermann confirmed.

"But why? This already happened at the start of the first one," Noir pointed out.

"It's from a new perspective." Amiya explained. "Besides, Mr. Jaye isn't the recruit this time—he's training the Ibutans."

"Just like an instructor, eh, Dobey?" Dur-Nar nudge a shoulder to her.

Meanwhile, Dobermann gave her a disapproving look from that nickname. "Can you not call me that?"

"You know, maybe Jaye should apply as a teacher." Aak joked, as Jaye rolled his eyes.

Hung then turns around to Jaye, "Private Jaye, show 'em what I'm talking about. Grab the weapon off the table and fire at the targets behind you."

Jaye obliges as he went to the table and picked up the T91 rifle with an iron sight and a grip.

"Turn around and fire at the targets." Hung ordered. As Jaye turned around, a target popped up from the firing range behind him. Jaye aimed his gun and was about to shoot the target, but Hung quickly interjects, "Don't aim down the sight yet. I'm trying to make a point here. Just fire from the hip."

Obliging, Jaye retracted from the sights as he aimed at the target by the hip. As expected to Hung, Jaye fired at the target with a few bullets, and then a few more to another target that popped up.

"This is boring..." Blaze groaned.

"At least show a little respect." Greythroat said, rolling her eyes.

"How can I when I've already seen this in the first one?" Blaze shot back.

"Well, the newcomers need to experience it too." the Doctor replied.

"They've got a point." Waai Fu chimed in, feeling a bit excited about seeing this alternate world where everyone fights with guns. It wasn't quite as great as martial arts, but still interesting.

"See what I mean? He sprayed bullets all over the damn place." Hung pointed out, turning to the Ibutans. "You've got to pick your targets by aiming deliberately down your sights from a stable stance."

Hung turns back to the Ursi ranger. "Private Jaye, show our friends here how the Rangers take down a target. Crouch first, then aim down your sight at the targets."

Jaye did just that and crouched down while steadying his aim with the sandbags. A target popped up as Jaye fired only two bullets at the target. Two more popped up and he did the same action by only firing two bullets at one target, wasting only six bullets.

"That's all there is to it." Hung said as Jaye stood back up and reload a mag while turning back to the Ibutans.

"You want your targets to go down? You gotta aim down your sights. Aiming down your sights also works for switching quickly between targets. Aim down your sights, then pop in and out to acquire new targets. " Hung turned back to Jaye again, "Show 'em Private. If your target is close to where you are aiming, you can snap to it quickly by aiming down your sights."

"Someone should take a shot every time he says that," Aak giggled.

"Why not do it yourself, then?" Jaye suggested bluntly, a hint of a smirk on his face. Aak quickly retracted his comment, while Waai Fu and Hung chuckled.

Jaye turned back to the firing range as he prepared himself by crouching down first and then aiming down his T91. Soon after, a target popped up which he shift his aim and fired. Another target popped up, prompting him to do the same and fired two bullets.

Just like the first mission in the first Modern Warfare, Jaye had to shoot multiple targets that were popping up one at a time in a fast pace as he wasted less bullets by firing once or twice at the targets.

"I'm really that fast." Jaye remarked.

"Aren't you always? Especially during work." Waai Fu said with a little grin.

"Well I did made over 60 takoyakis in an hour." The operators that heard what he said glanced over to him in amazement.

A few moments later, he shoot down the last target. "Now that's how you do it." Hung said, turning back to the Ibutans again, but Jaye stayed in position eyeing the firing range.

"You want to take down your targets quickly and with control. Now if your target is behind light cover, remember that certain weapons can penetrate and hit your target. The Private here will demonstrate."

Jaye then sees the target popping up that was behind a wood panel that acts as its cover. He took aim and fired three bullets which penetrated the wood and hit the target.

"This is like Deja Vu, like we've been in this place before." Dylan remarked.

"I know, but It's kind of unecessary to us." Yato said.

"Someone finally speaks our mind." Noir replied. "Hopefully this won't happen again in the third movie."

Jaye turns back around as he sees Hung opening the small green box that was by the table, revealing to be a box of grenades. He took one out and showed it to the Ibutans.

"Last but not least, you need to know how to toss a frag grenade." Hung then turns his head to Jaye, "Private Jaye, pick up some frag grenades from the table." he said, before putting the grenade back in the box and pushes it closer to him.

Jaye went on ahead and picked up atleast three of them. "Toss the grenade down range and take out several targets at once." Hung said.

Jaye turned around to the firing range one last time as he sees a dozen targets popping up at once. Jaye then takes out a grenade and immediately throws it to the center. He waited for a few seconds before the grenade exploded, bringing most of the targets with it.

"Good." Hung said as Jaye turns back around seeing him lecturing the Ibutans again, "Note that frags tend to roll on sloped surfaces. So think twice before throwing one up hill."

With the Ibutan recruits all nodded in understanding, Hung turned to Jaye with an appreciated smile. "All right, thanks for the help, Private Jaye. Now get over to The Pit... General Wei wants to see you run the course."

"So Wei Yenwu is a general in this?" Ch'en asked, a bit surprised.

"From the way he spoke at the start, I figured he'd be in a role like that," Bagpipe replied with a knowing grin. "Seems right up his alley."

"It does make sense, given his actual position in Lungmen." Amiya agreed.

"I wonder what his wife's role would be, though." Doctor thoughted of Fumizuki.

With the training done, Jaye walks out from the firing range while Hung and the translator head over to the recruits. "All right, who wants to go first? Show me what you've learned so far." Hung said.

Jaye ignored the whole thing and went his way to the pit. While doing so, he took the time to look around the phoenix base. He look to his left and saw two Yanese rangers out of uniform while playing some basketball along with a few more sitting down on crates or chairs.

He look upfront, seeing the flag pole with the Yanese flag waving around. He also saw a helicopter flying by in patrol. There are also a few vehicles that were being repaired.

Looking to his right, the audience saw a good amount of parked military vehicles in an open field. The military vehicles were Infantry Fighting Vehicles that being the ZBD-04 and WZ-551, and by the middle was a lone Harbin Z-8 helicopter that hadn't took off.

Midnight whistled. "That's a lot of vehicles."

"It's expected from the most powerful military in the world." Orchid replied.

"I like the big helicopter." Popukar said, pointing at the Harbin Z-8.

"I can fly that thing too." Dylan added with a grin.

"This base is pretty well-organized." Cardigan remarked, eyeing one of the vehicles, curious about how fast it could go.

"Surprisingly, I don't see any tanks." Kroos observed.

"They probably have them stashed somewhere." Beagle guessed.

After spending too much time looking around, Jaye quickly make his way to the pit. He walked down a set of stairs that leads directly to the pit. Reaching the area, the audience sees another figure sitting by a weapon crate playing with their handgun.

When Jaye stepped forward, the soldier turned to him as the audience sees that the soldier appears to be a feline girl, but the lungmenites and the LDA members already know who it is. It was Waai Fu.

"It's me! I knew it!" Waai Fu bounced in place, her excitement bubbling over.

"Calm down, Waai." Hung said, gently stopping her with his hands on her shoulders.

"Yeah, and your character didn't even say a word." Aak teased, glancing back at the screen with a curious expression. "Now I'm wondering when I'll show up."

"You do look cool in that gear." Jaye remarked, admiring Waai Fu in full combat gear, complete with the helmet.

"Not a fan of the helmet, though." Waai Fu admitted with a shrug. "But I can live with it."

"Hey, Private. Welcome back to the pit." Waai Fu greeted with a smile. "Heard General Wei wants to pull a shooter from our unit for some special op. Anyway he's up there in observation."

Jaye look to his left and sees Wei Yenwu with two other rangers, looking at the two below with his arms crossed. The audience observed his appearance as he is wearing a simple uniform of a general while wearing a beret between his horns

Ch'en observed Wei's gear more closely, noticing he was only wearing a pine green suit with a red beret on his head. "His uniform looks... simpler than I imagined."

"You're right," the Doctor agreed, noting how the plain uniform contrasted with Wei's typically more colorful attire. "But since he's a general, it suits the environment."

"It might offer some camouflage—though not much use in a desert." Bagpipe remarked.

"Not like he'd be on the frontlines anyway." Dobermann added.

"I gotta admit, his posture looks a bit intimidating." Hung commented.

"I'd hate to serve under him." Aak said.

Ch'en, despite being displeased by the comments, silently agreed with the others. Wei Yenwu's presence as a general in the Yanese military was undeniably imposing, leaving the impression he couldn't fully be trusted.

"Go ahead and grab a pistol." Waai fu said. Jaye turned away from the general as he walk up to the pistol near the table where Waai fu was.

The audience observed that the pistol was a Desert Eagle, just like what Drudge and Patriot used from the previous movie.

After picking it up, he turned to the feline girl. "Alright, try switching to your rifle." She ordered. Jaye did what she said and switched to his T91 rifle.

"Good, now switch to your sidearm again."

Jaye switched back to his Desert Eagle, the audience acknowledging how fast it was.

"See how fast that was? Remember... switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading." Waai fu said.

"We already know this from the first movie..." Kroos said.

"Well, it's a first for me." Provence called out to her.

"And for us!" Aak added enthusiastically.

"Definitely feels like déjà vu," Dylan remarked.

Waai fu then puts her pistol on her holster before standing up. "Well, smile for the cameras and don't miss... Wei's gonna be watching. Best shooter gets to join the prima donna squad... if that's your thing." She starts opening up the two crates she was sitting at, revealing a variety of weapons.

In the first crate, there's an assault rifle - which is the QBZ-191, and a sub-machine gun - which is the MP5K. Both having holographic sights. And in the second crate, there's another assault rifle along with a smaller pistol than the Desert eagle. The rifle was an AUG bullpup rifle while the pistol was a T75K1.

"Nice-looking guns," Ethan remarked.

"I'm really digging the look of that pistol." Spot said, eyeing the T75K. "It looks like an upgraded version of the one Lin and the marines used."

"That one's pretty nice. Just my size." Amiya said, pointing at the MP5K.

The Doctor leaned in to examine it. "I think it's a smaller version of the MP5."

Amiya's interest piqued. "Then I want it someday."

"Maybe your character will, whenever she shows up." Folinic added.

"Ok, when you're ready, head on in. Timer starts as soon as the first target pops up." Waai fu said before opening the gate that leads to the course.

Jaye took the time to choose what weapon out of the four he would take for the course, and which he should switch with.

"I don't know why they don't put us in first, Jaye. Pretty much The Rangers can't do SF and Delta can, but whatever man... That's SOCOM brass for ya." Waai fu remarked while Jaye is in the middle of choosing his weapons. "And all these freaking blocking positions? When are we gonna see some real action instead of babysitting Sea Drags and D-Boys, hooah?"

"Delta? That's new," Greythroat remarked.

"I assume they're a special forces unit of the Yanese military, like the Sea Dragon Commandos," Hellagur said.

"I wonder what kind of special operations these Delta Force soldiers handle." Ch'en mused.

"On that note, how good are the Rangers, if she's comparin' their unit to these Delta lads?" Bagpipe added with a curious expression.

"Probably an elite force, like the marines." Spot suggested.

Eventually, Jaye had decided to pick the MP5K as his primary weapon while keeping his newly acquired desert eagle. Now ready, Jaye walk up to the gate to begin his course.

Before doing so, Jaye glanced at his left, noticing a scoreboard that kept track of the soldiers that ran the course. Just like in the first mission of MW1, it shows the name of the soldiers that participated along with the time score.

Hung - 35.6 seconds
Waai Fu - 44.5 seconds
Du Yayoe - 51.0 seconds
Snowsant - 78.4 seconds
Sandler - 39.1 seconds
Wade - 76.2 seconds
Aak - 23.7 seconds
Morgan - 59.7 seconds
Zuo Le - 19.9 seconds
Jaye

"Look, Aak! There's your name!" Hung pointed at the scoreboard.

Aak, however, looked disappointed. "It's just my name on a stupid scoreboard. I want to see my actual self in this alternate universe!"

"You might show up soon." Waai Fu said, trying to stay optimistic.

"If this part ever ends," Jaye muttered.

Knowing that he is next in line, Jaye enters the pit. As soon as he enters, the first set of targets of OpFor soldiers popped up.

"Clear the first area! Go! Go! Go!" Waai fu's voice blared from the speakers.

Jaye quickly aimed his MP5k and shoot down the three targets before pressing on. Three more targets popped up. Jaye was about to shoot the first one, but noticed it was a civilian. He quickly shifted to the two OpFor targets, although fired from the hip.

"Stop firing from the hip! Aim down your sights!" Waai fu demanded.

Waai Fu and the rest of the LDA were a bit taken aback by her sudden show of authority, especially Jaye, who was currently running the course.

"He's messing up." Ansel pointed out.

"Don't be rude, Ansel." Melantha scolded.

"I'm just stating the obvious!"

"He's probably just feeling the pressure," Dobermann said. "Trainees tend to struggle their first time."

"Yeah, though I have to admit, it's a bit entertaining to watch." Dur-Nar added with a smirk.

Meanwhile, the reserve teams all shuddered at the memory of their own mistakes during training—especially those who had to deal with Dur-Nar as their instructor. The A1 team, unfortunately, was one of them.

Jaye moved on to the building ahead as more targets popped up. Four of them were by the ground while two are at the second floor. Jaye glanced to the targets by the right, pinpointing them as civilians, leaving the rest as OpFors.

He aimed down his sights and fired at the four enemy targets with ease. "Area cleared! Move into the building!" Waai fu said.

Jaye moved into the building as more targets popped up. He tried his best to not hit any of the civilian targets.

Given they were in close quarters, Jaye had to waste a good amount of ammo. Nonetheless, he cleared the floor.

"Up the stairs!"

Jaye then went up the stairs before being met with a target that popped up infront of his face. He was about to shoot it before Waai fu spoke out.

"Melee with your knife!"

Jaye did just that by swinging his knife to the target, clearing the path and leading to the roof. Getting there, more targets popped up. He shoots another enemy target, but accidentally did it by the hip again.

"Aim down your sights, private!" Waai fu said in a slightly irritated tone.

The LDA and the other operators were surprised when she resorted to shouting. Waai Fu then turned to Jaye, who wore a distraught expression as he watched his alternate self struggle.

"Just so you know, I'd never shout at you like that," Waai Fu assured him.

"No, no, it's fine," Jaye replied, still bothered. "I'm just concerned about how much I keep messing up."

"Everyone makes mistakes, bud," Noir Corne said. "Just don't dwell on it too much."

"Maskie's right." Aak chimed in.

Jaye sighed. "I guess."

Fixing the mistake, the audience sees Jaye switching to his desert eagle before taking care of the other enemy targets with only firing three bullets in a faster rate.

"Area cleared! Jump down!"

Jaye quickly reloads his deagle and the MP5K before jumping down from the roof as more targets popped up.

"Last area! Move! Move!" Waai fu urged.

Hearing this, Jaye shoot his MP5K on the enemy targets as he quickly pressed on whilst avoiding the civilian targets. With three remaining targets left, Jaye switched to his desert eagle and shot them all.

"Sprint to the exit! Clock's ticking!"

Jaye went to a run towards the exit ahead of him while seeing the timer that was placed infront of it. When he finally reached the exit, the timer had stopped as the audience sees the result.

'0:38.6 seconds'

"Not bad," Blaze said. "He beat six of them on the course."

"He definitely did better than I did." Amiya added, recalling how her alternate self only beat three or four people on the scoreboard in the first film.

"See, Jaye? You still did well," Waai Fu encouraged.

"I probably would've been faster if I hadn't made those two mistakes." Jaye said, a bit self-critical.

"Yeah, and my character still beat yours~" Aak smirked, only to receive a playful punch to the shoulder from Hung.

"Don't worry," Hung reassured him. "I'm sure your character will improve later in the film of this sequel."

After completing the course, Jaye turned to his right and spotted Waai Fu leaning casually against a wall, a smirk on her face.

"Very impressive, my man. You made that course your bitch!" Waai Fu congratulated him on his performance. "Alright, head upstairs and regroup with your team, or you can go back and run the course again."

Like Amiya before him, Jaye decided not to run the course a second time. He headed toward the exit and began ascending the stairs.

Suddenly, an alarm blared throughout the base, breaking the calm. A familiar voice echoed over the loudspeakers, "All Hunter units, get to your vehicles. We're heading out."

"Hey, that's Lee!" Hung pointed out.

"Yep, he made a return from the first game." Catapult said.

"What the hell is going on?" Adnachiel asked, hearing the alarm blaring.

"Action." Cardigan smirked.

Hearing the alarm, Jaye sprinted up the stairs, with Waai Fu following close behind. When they reached the top, Jaye sees two damaged jeeps in smoke along with bullet holes scattered in windows and doors. The occupants of the vehicles got out of the car, albeit injured, as the medical team went there to help.

"BCT One is trapped across the river in the red zone! We've lost contact!" a ranger shouted as others scrambled around the base, grabbing weapons and preparing the vehicles. Overhead, two helicopters were taking off to the sky.

Hung entered the frame, approaching one of the frantic rangers, who urgently reported, "They blew the damn bridge! We gotta move!"

Hung nodded and turned to the others. "Everyone, get to your vehicles! We're moving out!" he ordered, before jumping into one of the jeeps.

The last thing the audience saw was Jaye dashing toward another vehicle before the screen cut to black, ending the mission.

"So, what do you all think?" Noir asked, turning to the LDA members.

"Amazing," Waai Fu replied with a joyful smile.

"Definitely interesting." Hung added.

"It was... pretty unique." Jaye said with a slight shrug.

"Really, my dude? That's all you've got?" Aak said in disbelief, to which Jaye simply nodded. "Alright, fair enough. While it's cool seeing you guys in this universe, I'm still a bit mad that all I got was my name on a stupid scoreboard."

"Take it easy, little man. You'll show up later." Dylan assured.

"Tch, I hope." Aak muttered, crossing his arms, still hoping it was true.

"Despite hearing about this universe from the others, I am already intrigued seeing it." Scavenger said, "Never seen so many guns in one place."

"Yeah, it's like they're all being like Laterano." Provence replied while Red stood silent, glancing at the purple-haired Lupo's moving big tail.

"It was a boring start for me," Blaze said, crossing her arms. "Why did it have to be another training scene?"

"While it was similar to the last one, it did show how the Yanese Rangers are helping the Ibutan locals with their military training," Dur-Nar pointed out.

"I assume it's because the Bayaliran OpFors pose a significant threat to the Ibutan government and its people," Greythroat added. "The OpFors must've gotten stronger."

"Well, that won't last long with the Yanese Rangers stepping in." Noir Corne said with a confident smirk under his mask.

"And with the locals helping, they won't stand a bloody chance," Bagpipe chimed in.

"Outnumbered and outgunned? The Bayaliran OpFors are out of their minds with ther suicide mission." Dobermann remarked.

"I still can't believe that after everything in the first movie, Reunion actually managed to win the civil war," Folinic said somberly.

"Yeah, how did they even win when most of their soldiers were wiped out?" Blaze asked, incredulous.

"Perhaps they didn't win militarily," Hellagur suggested. "Maybe they achieved their goals through political means. Another possibility is that they won the hearts and minds of the people, gaining support for their ideology."

The Doctor nodded thoughtfully. "If that's the case, then the loyalists might've lost because their own people turned against them, tired of the endless deaths."

"That's a pretty sad way to lose a war," Ch'en said quietly. "But it is what it is..."

"Well, let's move on to the next one," Amiya said, earning nods from the Doctor and the others. She picked up the remote and pressed the button, cueing the next scene of the sequel.

========================

Trivia time!

- In my first idea, Hung and Hoshiguma was supposed to switched places, which meant that Hung should've died in Game over. This goes the same with Waai fu and Swire.

- Jaye was not the first character i thought of to play as Allen. There was Shirayuki, since she was close to Wei, but mostly with Fumizuki given she is her bodyguard.

- Before Wei Yenwu, I jokingly thought of Aak being Shepherd because of how he is viewed in the community. But that didn't really make any sense, and he is like way younger than Shepherd (He's 18 in the LDA series).

- The Yanese military in MW2 and MW3 will now be getting both Taiwanese and Chinese weapons, just like with their equipment.

- Afghanistan was supposed to be in another random part of Sargon, but after learning of the regions like in the third interlude, I decide to make it Ibut.

__

After two years of writing this reaction book we've finally reached Modern Warfare 2. I am super excited to write all the missions since it is one of my favorite cod campaigns.

Unfortunately, it seems that almost all of you readers failed to predict whose gonna be General Shepherd and the Ranger characters. Ramirez's counterpart isn't shown yet, but you've already figured out who it's going to be.

And I want to have a little moment to those that pictured the Doctor being General Shepherd. The fuck were you even thinking? That prediction was already not on the list. The Doctor needs to have a name for this role. I can't just call them 'General Doctor'!

Anyways, that's all I can say for this chapter. And another note, almost all of the Rangers in the Ranger missions will be anthromorphic animal characters - like Hung and Waai Fu and Aak.

See you in "Team Player".
