Heat
The screen starts off with the Rhodes Island emblem. It then shows the old map of Chernobog for a moment until Bagpipe spoke up.
"E.T.A. on the chopper's at least half an hour, Captain Hui-Chieh."
"No good. We'll be corpses for ten minutes by then." Ch'en replied.
Suddenly, the screen changes from the old map of Chernobog to the modern satellite image as it shifts to the Dewville village in Northern Kazimierz, where the Rhodes Islanders were from the first mission of Act 2.
"It's back to us." Amiya said.
"And they're still in Kazimierz it seems." Doctor followed.
The satellite starts scanning the village, locating Amiya's current position.
Located...
Amiya
22nd Rhodes Island
It was followed by a group of enemy helis coming towards the village, presumably from Reunion, in which Ch'en states. "Every Reunion psycho in Patriot's pocket is about to show up on our doorstep, coming to claim Drudge Tulla."
"Or what's left of him." Bagpipe quipped.
"Yeah, he totally deserved it." Blaze smiled
"So Drudge did die in this mission, huh?" Dylan asked, earning a nod from Noir corne. "How did he die?"
"Just a simple shot to the head. Nothing to special. But the important thing is that he's dead." Noir responded.
"You should've seen the look on his face when he was met with Ch'en's gun." Franka snickered.
The satellite zooms in closer to the village as an object popped up to the screen, which is an 'Anti-personnel mine'. "Right. We'll set charges along phase line Alpha on the southern hill and more along phase line Bravo." Ch'en continued as the anti personnel mine was duplicated and placed to the respective spots that Ch'en mentioned.
"We'll delay them all the way back to the top, and hold our ground at the extraction point in the fields around the farm." As she said that, the simulated mines exploded - covering the area in black smoke. Then a friendly chopper shows up, landing into the farm field that acts as their LZ.
"Any questions?" Ch'en asked.
"Let's do this." Bagpipe declared as the screen fades to black.
"I wonder how many Reunion forces they're gonna fight?" Swire asked.
"Ch'en did say that every Reunion psycho on Patriot's pocket is about to show up on their doorstep. There might be about a hundred." Hoshiguma claimed.
"Or even more than that." Bagpipe remarked.
"So they're gonna face off against a whole company of enemy soldiers while they have like eight guys?" Catapult said. "That means they would be outnumbered and outgunned!"
"But knowing that they're special forces while the rest of Reunion are just your average grunt with almost no experience, I assume it would be no problem to them." Spot replied.
"And I think the mines would kill a good chunk of them." Sesa pointed out.
The audience could see an inscription appearing that says.
'Present Day - Eight hours after Drudge Tulla's death'
It was followed by a Reunion soldier - presumably the commander speaking in a loudspeaker with an Ursine accent.
"Surrender at once and your lives will be spared! I am sure you will make right choice given the circumstances!" He paused for a moment. "Drop your weapons and surrender at once! You will not be harmed if you surrender!"
"Yeah tell that to the villagers that your buddies mercilessly killed." Blaze grumbled in anger, still thinking of those dead villagers - which included the children.
"And they're not just gonna surrender like that easily." Greythroat spoke up.
"By the way, why were they still in the village for eight hours?" Meteorite asked. "Don't they have enough time to evacuate?"
"Maybe there wasn't any nearby reinforcements." Dobermann thoughted.
"Or...they used that spare time to bury the villagers that were killed." Meteor said in a saddened tone. Those villagers did not deserve to die.
"Yeah you might be right, or it could be both too." Dur-Nar agreed.
The screen then changes to Amiya's point of view. She was seen walking down on the road with Ch'en, Bagpipe, and Sesa that were ahead of her. Amiya was holding a weapon that got the audience's attention due to how large it looks from her perspective.
It was an M249 SAW, a light machine gun with about 200 rounds in capacity. Heavy, but very reliable on suppressing your enemies.
"Woah, that's a pretty big weapon." Amiya commented. "I don't think i could hold something like that."
"Oh don't think like that, Amiya." Closure said. "I'm sure you can have the strength for it."
"Even if i do, it doesn't seem like a suitable weapon for me."
"Ignore that load of bollocks. Their counterattack is imminent. Spread out and cover the southern approach." Ch'en said as the group make it down the road, passing by the destroyed helicopter.
"Sir, they're slowly coming up the hill. Just say when." Noir Corne informed from his position. The group then head over to the church near to the entrance where they came that night before, which is now covered in barbed wire.
The Reunion Commander with the loudspeaker then continued. "We know you are hiding in the village! You are surrounded! There is nowhere to run! Surrender and make it easy on yourselves!"
Amiya glanced at the church tower and saw Yato and Noir Corne by the spot.
"Hey look, there's us." Noir pointed out.
"Yeah I can see that." Yato responded.
"Kinda wish we were here too." Barty said.
"We might so in the future missions." Chard replied.
"I haven't even seen myself in the missions other than the ship one." Dylan joined in, wondering if he would make another appearance that he would see for himself.
She and the group made it to the white fences by the cliff as Amiya sees another figure already there. It was the Ursine loyalist - Kevin. He was proning on the ground, overlooking the hill below with his weapon ready.
"And there's Kevin." Ethan said with a smile.
"Looks like the team is all here." Closure commented.
"Wait, where's Dobermann, though?" Dur-Nar asked, not seeing the Perro instructor anywhere.
"Maybe she is elsewhere." Amiya guessed.
"Well the important thing is that we're all doing our part. Hopefully this will go smoothly." Dobermann said.
The team went to a prone position by the edge of the fenced cliff with Kevin. Amiya prone down beside Sesa as she got a good look at the amount of Reunion soldiers that are coming up to the hill.
There were about a platoon strong. All carrying various types of weapons and gears. They were determined to deal with their enemies by the village. Unknown to them, they are walking into a trap.
"Wow, those are a lot of soldiers." Kroos observed.
"Yeah, but it's probably a fraction of what they're gonna send to them." Vulcan said.
Amiya crawled to the edge of the cliff as she set the bipod of her M249 SAW, aiming it on the Reunion forces. Once they were closer to the hill, Ch'en spoke up. "Do it."
"Ka-boom..." Sesa replied.
Amiya glanced at Sesa and sees him taking out a detonator. When he activated it, the hill was erupted by explosions coming from the anti-personnel mines. It killed almost all of the Reunion soldiers that was unfortunate enough to be standing near the mines.
Even the Commander with the megaphone fell victim to the explosions.
"Haha, that was awesome!" Sesa shouted in ecstasy, given the fact that he was the one who detonated the explosives, killing all of those soldiers.
"Well that's one way to greet a warm welcome." Greythroat said.
"Yeah, it shows that we won't give up that easily!" Blaze smirked.
After the series of explosions, Ch'en shouted. "OPEN FIRE!!"
On cue, Amiya open fired at the surviving Reunion soldiers and gunned them down. The rest did the same as more Reunion forces arrived to attack. Amiya kept firing her M249, but she wasn't sure if she killed any. What matters is that she is keeping them suppressed.
The audience could hear shots coming from the church tower by Yato and Noir Corne, assisting their comrades on the ground.
Throughout the constant firefight and shouting coming from the Reunion soldiers, the audience could hear one of them shouting.
"There are probably two platoons of them over there!"
Ch'en noted the message and called out to her comrades. "Squad, hold your ground. They think we're a larger force than we really are."
"Copy." Bagpipe replied.
"Two platoons? That's about 20-50 soldiers. Yet there's only 8 they have to worry about." Hellagur remarked.
"Imagine how embarrassing it feels to them when they realize that they're facing a smaller force that wiped out a lot of their own soldiers." Swire snickered.
The firefight kept going on as the Rhodes Islanders tried their best to repell the Reunion forces from going up the hill. Amiya saw a few of them wielding RPGs and fired. Thankfully, the rockets did not hit any of their position.
Amiya could then see a stray rocket heading downwards to the Reunion forces. The rocket had come from the church tower where Yato and Noir resided. They must've found some RPGs on it.
"Wonder who fired that rocket?" Franka asked.
"I believe that it was me." Noir corne said with such confidence.
"And what makes you think of that?" Yato turned to him.
"I just know it. And I'm more capable of carrying those rockets than you are. No offense." Noir remarked, rubbing the back of his neck nervously while Yato stared at him with a deadpanned expression, even if her eyes was covered with her mask.
The Reunion forces went wave after wave trying to go up the hill, but the Rhodes Islanders and the Ursine Loyalist kept repelling them back, killing more of their men. Amiya kept firing her M249 until she was out of ammo.
When Amiya was reloading, a shout came out from the Reunion's side, "Arrange a smoke screen! Throw your smoke grenades!"
After Amiya was done reloading, she could see white gust of smoke forming from the grenades. She tried to kill a few more enemies before the smoke fully forms. Firing about 50 rounds, she stopped when the smoke became larger and thicker, blocking her view.
"They're putting up smokescreens." Sesa said. "Dobermann - you see anything?"
"Not much movement on the road. They might be moving to our west." Dobermann replied from the radio.
"Looks like they've gotten smart." Ch'en remarked.
"Considered the amount of men they just lost from the first assault, I'm surprised they haven't thought of that sooner." Hoshiguma said
"I'm still wondering where Dobermann is?" Fang asked.
"By the looks of it, she might be acting as a sniper support. Since she informed to them of Reunion's position." Dur-Nar guessed.
The team waited for a few moments until mortars starts to rain down from their position. "They're targeting our position with mortars. It's time to fall back." Bagpipe pointed out.
"Right. Amiya, get to the minigun and cover our western flank. Go." Ch'en ordered to the cautus girl.
"Wait a minute, minigun?" Bagpipe asked. "Where did they get a minigun?"
"It's possibly from that downed chopper we saw." Beagle said.
"Judging by the state of that chopper, it must've crashed in the village like days ago. But how can there possibly be a working minigun inside?" Kal'tsit questioned.
"Probably best you don't question these logics..." Doctor said.
Obliging what her captain said, Amiya retracts the bipod of her M249 and stood back up. More mortars begin to rain down close to their position. Amiya turned tail and ran to the downed chopper, but her heavy weapon she is carrying is slowing her down.
She could then hear her comrades falling back aswell.
"One - withdrawing." Yato said.
"Two - falling back." Dobermann followed.
"Three - on the move." Bagpipe called out.
Amiya finally made it to the downed chopper as she crawled into the main body. There she could see a working minigun that was untouched.
She could see Ch'en, Bagpipe, Sesa, and Kevin falling back from the church. Then she sees the two Onis getting out of the tower.
"Three here. Two's in the far eastern building. We've got the eastern road locked down." Bagpipe said.
The audience continue to watch as the mortars rain hell on the church, eventually destroying the bell tower that the Onis resided in. Thankfully, they got out just in time.
"Whew, we could've been dead if we stayed there." Noir said in relief.
"Good thing we got out of there fast enough." Yato added.
"Well I hope none of you guys would die in this." Dylan said.
"Don't worry, man. They're gonna make it." Blaze assured.
"Yeah, and besides you got an explosives expert along with a military instructor on the defending team." Sesa remarked which earned a nod from Dobermann.
After a few short moments, the smoke from the mortar fire and the smoke grenades begin to evaporate. What followed were Reunion soldiers coming from the hillside in mass numbers.
Seeing this, Amiya rev up the minigun and fired at the incoming forces. The audience were in awe seeing the performance of the minigun as it fired 50 rounds per second onto the Reunion forces, tearing them all to shreds.
"Wow, what a strong gun." Jessica awed.
"And those guys from Laterano have these?!" Franka exclaimed, writing some notes of this.
"Man i hate to be one of those guys caught in the crossfire of that gun." Ethan remarked.
"So this is how it feels like firing one by yourselves?" Closure said. "Really makes you unstoppable."
"The gun really does pack a punch." Ch'en commented.
"I guess i was wrong of them being outgunned." Catapult said.
"Well, we don't know what the Reunion guys have in store for them." Spot replied.
"Atleast they seem to be kicking their asses." Blaze chimed in.
"Amiya, keep the minigun spooled up. Fire in bursts." Ch'en said. Amiya obliged and slowed down her shots so that the minigun won't overheat.
Amiya had decimated a good portion of the attackers, however she could not hold them back on their own as they came from various directions. She saw a few of them had made it to the church and fired at her from the windows.
She took a hit, but quickly shrug it off and unleashed the bullets at the church windows, killing the Reunion soldiers. Then a stray rocket had hit the chopper, but thankfully it didn't hit Amiya.
She followed the trail of the smoke as she noticed several Reunion forces are going around the church from the backside. She quickly took care of them before they got any further.
A problem had arise when Kevin shouted. "We've got a problem here, heads up!". Amiya glanced upwards and saw a squad of five enemy helicopters arriving to their position.
"Bloody hell, that's a lot of helis innit!?" Bagpipe exclaimed.
The Helis begin to drop off their soldiers. This prompted Amiya to focus her minigun on to the aircrafts.
The audience witnessed of how Amiya sprayed the minigun into the five aircrafts, taking them all one by one. They all bursts into flames while simultaneously killing the soldiers inside as the aircrafts crashed down to the ground.
"Damn, she destroyed them like they were paper!" Bagpipe exclaimed.
"The performance of this minigun truly is outstanding." Kal'tsit said.
"I take back what i said of one person not being able to destroy a group of helicopters." Doctor replied.
"And that was some disastrous level of casualties to the attackers." Hellagur noted, knowing that there must've been a dozen soldiers in each helicopter before they got destroyed, meaning that the Reunion forces had suffered 60 casualties in a matter of seconds.
"Serves them right for being dumb enough to send their helicopters in the middle of the battlefield." Swire said
"They probably didn't expect them to have a minigun." Yato argued.
"Still, it's probably best to send your helicopters not in the middle of a battlefield." Dylan chimed in.
"Amiya, fall back to the tavern and man the detonators." Ch'en ordered, knowing that they can't hold the position any longer due to the amount of enemies arriving. "The rest of us will keep them busy from the next defensive line. Everyone move!"
Amiya tried to get out, but she was under fire by a squad of Reunion soldiers, which forced her to keep manning the minigun and take them out. She noticed that more enemy soldiers begin to arrive in great numbers.
She took out a few before hearing Bagpipe calling her out. "Amiya! Get off the minigun! We're falling baack!"
Amiya soon dismounted the minigun and crawled out of the helicopter. Standing back up, she saw two Reunion soldier right infront of her, but they had their guns focused on her comrades.
She hipfired them both with her M249 as she head towards the tavern. She had to turn back around and fire 50 more rounds to the incoming enemy soldiers.
One of them was dangerously close to the cautus and was about to fire his gun at her. Luckily a sniper shot manage to get him first.
"That must've been Dobermann." Beagle said.
"It probably was." Dobermann replied.
"She was lucky she's here." Dur-Nar commented.
"Amiya! Use the detonators! There's four of them in the tavern, move!" Bagpipe ordered.
Amiya went up the concrete stairs before going inside the tavern from the second floor. She went to the windows and picked up a detonator.
She observed the field and noticed a few Reunion soldiers standing on the first set of mines. vShe detonated it as it exploded, killing them all.
She then went over to the second detonator before taking cover from gunfire. Amiya took a peek and saw dozens of Reunion soldier swarming around the chopper.
"Ay caramba, there's sure a lot of them..." Franka uttered.
"They really are sending everything they have." Folinic said.
"It's almost like the previous mission where the Guerillas and Luscinians sent everything they have to kill Ch'en and Kal'tsit." Doctor replied.
"Well it is now obvious there's more than 100 enemies attacking the village." Vulcan remarked.
"I wouldn't be surprised if they bring in armor aswell." Sesa said.
Seeing the horde of enemy soldiers by the helicopter, Amiya detonate the mines on that position and killed all of them, arguably a good chunk of the attacking force.
Amiya went to the next area of the second floor. She then took out her secondary weapon - which was an M21 sniper rifle, just like what Ch'en used in the previous mission.
She went to the other two windows, taking out any Reunion stragglers that was suppressing her from getting the detonators. After taking out atleast three of them, Amiya snatched the detonator before activating it as more explosions erupted outside.
Amiya quickly went to the final detonator, glancing at the unfortunate Reunion soldiers standing near the mines before detonating it. Despite activating four of the mines in phase line bravo, the Reunion forces were still coming in mass numbers.
It took a turn of worse when they hear Dobermann shouting from the radio. "We have enemy tanks approaching from the north!"
"And there you have it." Sesa bluntly said, expecting that to happen.
"Again, the Reunion forces are really going all out here." Ansel replied.
"I would be amazed when they survive this massive onslaught with only 8 people." Steward said.
"I hope they have anti-tank weapons." Bagpipe hoped.
"Or they could get support from that Mosin pilot guy. Where is he anyway?" Swire wondered.
"Maybe they have to leave early because of the incoming Reunion forces into their area." Ch'en said.
Suddenly, a shot was heard from the radio followed by Dobermann letting out a grunt of pain. "Arrgh! Bloody hell, I'm hit!-" After that her feed got cut off.
Some of the audience had worried looks on their faces after that exchange. Dobermann just got shot, and immediately her feed was cut off - indicating that she might've dropped the radio.
"They got the instructor!" Beagle exclaimed.
"And it sounded like the shot did some serious damage..." Fang said in a worried tone.
"W-Well it's not like that's gonna keep her down." Jessica replied.
"I agree with that." Catapult said.
"Dobermann's in trouble! Everyone fall back to the farm at the top of the hill. Let's go. Now!" Ch'en ordered. Obliging the order, Amiya got out of the tavern and head towards the farm.
"Wait, what are they doing? Why aren't they rescuing her?!" Kroos protested.
"I don't think they can..." Dobermann spoke up. "With the amount of enemies coming to them, rescuing my alternate self...would be suicide."
"But they can't just leave you to die like that!" Dur-Nar argued.
"Maybe...maybe Dobermann would find a hiding spot in one of the buildings." Amiya speculated.
"Or maybe she can sneak past the Reunion forces and joined up with the rest." Doctor added.
"Y-yeah. Yeah! Those are about right! She'll be safe for sure." Jessica agreed. Dur-Nar and the three A1 members all nodded in agreement.
Amiya got up to the hill and headed towards the farm, not bothering to look back.
"FALL BACK! FALL BACK!" Bagpipe yelled out.
Amiya joined up with Ch'en, Bagpipe, Yato, and Kevin as they all move up to the farm. She then noticed Noir and Sesa grabbing an RPG.
Amiya turned back to see three more helis appearing from the horizon, ready to drop more soldiers. However, Sesa and Noir fired their RPGs which destroyed two of the three choppers.
The three quickly fall back to the farm where the rest of the squad are taking defensive positions. Amiya went over to Ch'en, the latter then said to her, "Amiya! There's a Javelin by the barn. Use it and take out those tanks!"
"Looks like they do have anti-tank weapons." Hoshiguma said.
"And they're not gonna be completely vulnerable." Swire replied.
"This will mean more casualties to the enemy forces." Hellagur stated.
"Time to see it in action again." Sesa said with a smile.
Amiya obliged and ran straight to the barn. As she went in, she saw an assortment of weapons on the floor. But she focused her attention on the Javelin that was laying on a crate. She switched it with her M249 SAW and went out of the barn.
Amiya looked to the field and saw the Reunion forces have made it there and are now engaging with her squad.
"Focus your fire!" Yato shouted.
"I'm reloading!" Noir said, taking cover by the shack as he reloads his weapon.
"Give me some covering fire!" Bagpipe exclaimed.
"Flash out!" Sesa threw a flashbang at a group of Reunion soldiers, then shoot them down once they were blinded.
Seeing the fight going on, Amiya then saw two tanks stopping by the road, aiming at the squad.
"Chenchen wasn't kidding that Patriot is sending every Reunion in his pockets." Bagpipe remarked.
"It's pretty overkill, don't you think?" Closure asked.
"Maybe they just didn't expect the defenses done by 8 people to be that fierce." Ch'en responded.
"And they still thought they had about two platoons." Kal'tsit said.
Wasting no time, Amiya went to a safe cover and aimed her Javelin at one of the tanks. After waiting for the system to locked on to the tank, she then fired the missile. Like what it happened with Lin, the missile went up to the air for a few moments before descending down to the tank, destroying it completely.
She shifted to next tank beside it and did the same. Locked it on, fire the missile, destroying it to bits and pieces.
Amiya switched to her M21 to briefly kill the Reunion forces that were getting close to the farm. After that, she went back to her Javelin when she noticed two more tanks by the southwest.
As per usual, Amiya took aim and fired the missile to the tanks. She destroyed the third one and shifted to the last tank. She locked on the vehicle then fired the missile, a few moments later - it went to the tank, destroying it completely.
"The tanks are finally dealt with." Vulcan said.
"Yeah, but it's not over yet. They still need to hold off against the horde while waiting for their extraction." Blaze stated.
"They also need to wait for Dobermann to make it to the farm." Jessica said.
"Can she though?" Chard asked.
"I say she will!" Kroos affirmed.
After destroying the tanks, Amiya dropped the Javelin down and switched to her M21. She assisted her squad and deal with the Reunion infantrymen that are still arriving in great numbers.
They even put several smoke screens on the entrance, which allowed them to press further to their defenses. Amiya saw a few of them entering one of the buildings on her right, which they were immediately dealt with.
"Just how many of them are there?!" Catapult felt baffled from the amount of soldiers.
"By the looks of it, it's only a matter of time before they get overrun..." Spot muttered.
Amiya reloaded a mag and kept firing at the hostile forces. Just then, the audience hear the deafening sound of jet engines as they see three fast-moving aircrafts flying overhead.
"Bravo-Six, this is Falcon One standing by to provide close air support, over." One of the pilots said with a Yanese accent.
It's revealed that those were Yanese aircrafts of the Yanese air force, which were the AV-8 Harriers. Though they were actually bought from Columbia.
"It looks like the Yanese are here." Kal'tsit stated.
"Alright, Yan to the rescue!" Swire smirked.
"And they even brought MIGs to support them." Closure said with a smile
"Well, that's such a miracle." Ch'en remarked.
"The Yanese are still itching for a fight even when their forces got nuked." Hoshiguma said.
"Maybe they want revenge too." Beehunter replied.
Hearing this, Amiya took out her radio, sending the coordinates for the airstrike by the entrance of the farm that is filled with Reunion forces.
After clicking a button, she hears a response. "Roger, standby for airstrike."
A few moments later, the audience sees the harriers passing by before unleashing bombs on the Reunion forces, killing a good chunk of them.
Then they hear another call out from another Yanese pilot. "Bravo-Six, this is Gryphon Two-Seven. We've just crossed Kazimierzian airspace. E.T.A. in four minutes. Be ready for pickup."
"So the Yanese are the ones extracting the team out of here?" Ch'en said.
"I'm happy with that." Hoshiguma smiled.
"Goes to show their alliance in this world." Bagpipe added.
"And now we just need to wait four minutes for the extraction." Amiya replied.
"But four minutes is still pretty long in this kind of situation." Doctor pointed out.
"I sure hope Dobermann makes it in time." Dur-Nar said with a hint of worry as there wasn't any sign of her. Jessica and the three A1 girls all nodded, while Dobermann prepared for the worst to come.
The team continued to defend their position. Amiya picked off the Reunion forces that were getting closer to the farm. And if that wasn't enough of bad news, the Yanese pilot responded.
"Bravo-Six, the LZ is too hot! We cannot land at the farm! I repeat, we CANNOT land at the farm!" Gryphon Two-Seven shouted. "We're picking up SAM sites all over these mountains!"
"What? Come on!" Barty exclaimed.
"Of course something bad is gonna happen to them." Greythroat crossed her arms.
"I'm assuming SAM sites are anti-air weapons." Yato said.
"Well now where are they gonna land now?" Blaze wondered.
"Oh, that's just great! Now where are they gonna land now!?" Bagpipe shouted acerbically, saying the exact same thing Blaze said.
"Bravo-Six, we're getting a lot of enemy radar signatures, we'll try to land closer to the bottom of the hill to avoid a lock-on." Gryphon informed.
"Wait, does that mean they're gonna land in the bottom of the hill where the Reunion soldiers came from?" Frostleaf asked.
"Yeah, i think it is." Meteor replied.
"They're just gonna go back down just like that?" Folinic questioned.
"Yeah there could be tons of enemies there!" Closure said.
"OH HE'S GOTTA BE TAKIN' A PISS!?" Bagpipe yelled, causing the audience to be taken aback from her outburst. "We just busted our arses to get to this LZ - AND NOW THEY WANT US TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK DOWN?!?!"
Safe to say, that everyone in the room was in shock after hearing Bagpipe's outburst. She had never been this angry before, not even from her entire life.
Kal'tsit's eyes went wide for a moment there before maintaining her usual look.
Amiya, Kroos, and Ansel had to cover their ears for the moment, while still feeling surprised from all of that yelling.
"Oh wow, now that was sure something." Sesa commented.
"Damn, you kiss your mother with that mouth?" Blaze chuckled.
"I...I have never hear her this angry before." Ch'en uttered.
"And she sound very terrifying when she is..." Kroos slumped back in fear from her voice.
"It almost feels like Instructor Dobermann." Noir Corne quipped, earning a glare from the Perro woman.
Meanwhile, Bagpipe stared at the screen with her mouth drop after hearing her alternate self's outburst. Then she felt someone poking her shoulder, turning to them. It was Swire, and she had a shit eating grin on her face.
"You owe me 200 LMD." Swire said.
Bagpipe grumbled, knowing that they made a bet since the last two missions, which of course she now lost. "After this session, ok?"
Swire shrugged, but accepted anyway. "Alright, but I'll be waiting."
"Forget it, Bagpipe! We've got to get to the new LZ at the bottom of the hill, now!" Ch'en declared. "Amiya, take point! Go!"
Amiya obliged. She stood up and cleared the last remaining Reunion forces by the entrance before pressing forward. She then stumbled upon one of the dead soldiers that was wielding a P90.
Amiya went ahead and pick it up, knowing that it can be a suitable weapon for her. After that, she continued to press on to the road with the rest of the squad behind her.
"Can't believe they're gonna have to go all the way down." Ch'en complained. "There must be about a hundred enemies waiting for them down there."
"On the bright side, they can still find Dobermann." Doctor said
"Yeah, she must be in one of those buildings, waiting for her rescue!" Beagle chimed in. All these speculations made Dobermann feel a little uneasy, but she was still holding on to that hope.
The group head on over to the entrance of the farm, passing by the destroyed T-72 tanks on the road.
Amiya encounters four reunion soldiers by the railing. She took cover behind a destroyed car and fired at two of them. The other two were then dispatched by her squad.
"Bravo-Six, be advised, we're gonna come in low from the south across the river. Recommend you haul ass to LZ Foxtrot at the base of the hill. Out." Gryphon informed.
"Copy, Two-Seven. Everyone - head for the landing zone! It's our last chance! Move!" Ch'en ordered.
Amiya went to the railing and saw a few enemies by the houses. She took out one of them with her P90 before taking cover. More enemies begin to appear on her right, a few of them manage to take cover by the house while Ch'en and the rest tried to deal with them.
Amiya decide to call in another airstrike at the house with the Reunion soldiers in it. She clicked the button on her radio and waited for a response.
"Target confirmed. Standby for airstrike."
The squad then hop over the railing and ran to the tavern building. Amiya look back and see the Harriers unleashing their bombs and guns to the house, blowing it up to pieces whilst killing the Reunion soldiers in it.
"It feels cool to see a MIG dropping its weapons on their target up close." Chard commented.
"All fun and games until you're the target." Barty said.
"These MIGs sure have different performances in the field." Yato pointed out, remembering the jets in Shock and Awe
"We should make those some day." Doctor suggested.
"If we have the resources for it. Even then, I won't agree to it. We're supposed to be a pharmaceutical company after all. Having a military-grade fast moving aircraft would cause some backlash to the international community." Kal'tsit explained.
"Fair point, i guess." Doctor shrugged.
Amiya then head down the hill that leads to the shop building. She crouched down and switched to her M21 as she saw about two Reunion soldiers by the parking lot.
Amiya quickly picked them off before shifting right and throw a flashbang to three enemies coming up the hill. When they got blinded, they were taken down by her allies.
Amiya decide to go into the shop for any stragglers. Before she did that, she turned around to see Yato, Noir, and Sesa covering their six from incoming Reunion forces while Ch'en, Bagpipe and Kevin went around the shop building.
Amiya switched to her P90 and went down the stairs, going to the back doorway of the shop with her P90 aimed and ready
When she went to the door, she saw blood stains on the ground along with a dead body. She carefully entered the store and saw three more bodies. Two of them were lying on the ground with the first body, all three of them seem to be Reunion.
Then Amiya shift her eyes to the last body and the audience were left in shock.
"W-Wait...is that..." Amiya stuttered.
"It's...me." Dobermann said.
Indeed it was. The body that was leaning by the wall was none other than Dobermann. Amiya walked closer to the body and inspected it.
Dobermann's eyes were rolled back with blood coming out of her lips. Her beanie had fell down to the blood-stained floor from where she sat. A few bullet holes went on to her chest as blood were tainted to the wall behind her and on to the floor. Speaking of which, there was also a bullet that went right to her forehead.
Amiya then sees a USP 45 Pistol on her hand with a few bullet casings next to it. She turned back to the bodies and pieced it all together.
When Dobermann got shot, she tried to took refuge in the shop building, but a few Reunion soldiers must've pursued her and got a few shots at her. Injured, she head over to the wall and sat down. Taking out her pistol, she killed three of the soldiers that went in before getting shot by a fourth one.
"She's....she's dead..." Fang said with her mouth agape in shock. And she wasn't the only one too. Kroos and Beagle reacted in shock while Dur-Nar looked pretty horrified at the scene.
"No...." The Vulpo uttered. She kept hoping that she would still be alive after getting shot, but those hopes had shattered to pieces.
Jessica felt a few tears running down on her eyes seeing the dead Perro that helped her in training, despite her sternly behavior.
Dobermann was as shock as they are. She could not believe that she is seeing her dead self in front of her eyes. It was so...unnerving.
And that goes the same with the rest of the operators.
Amiya covered her mouth in shock when her character encountered the dead instructor. The LGD girls were as shocked as everyone.
Catapult is having mixed reactions out of this scenario. She knows Dobermann can be such a stuffy old bit, but seeing her dead on the ground made her to feel pity.
Doctor, though hidden by their mask, had their eyes wide in shock. The Doctor and Dobermann may not as close as they are with Amiya, but they respect each other as good colleagues.
As Amiya stared at her dead comrade, possibly mourning her, the Yanese pilot - Gryphon responded from the radio. "Bravo-Six, be advised we're almost there but we're low on fuel. You guys have three minutes before we have to leave without you, Over."
It was followed with Bagpipe shouting. "We're gonna get left behind! We've got to get to the landing zone!"
Hearing this, Amiya leaned closer to the body and grabbed one of her dog tags before leaving the store and the now dead Dobermann behind.
"Wait, why aren't they taking the body?!" Dur-Nar protested.
"Due to the situation they are in, it's not worth the risk..." Amiya said.
"And it would slow them down..." Dobermann chimed in while nodding in agreement with Amiya. Although she didn't like the fact that her body would stay there in enemy territory, there was no other choice.
Besides, these things happens in war. You can't save everyone.
Dur-Nar tried to protest, but knows that she was right and stayed silent while looking down with a slight tear on her eyes. The three A1 girls let out a sad frown seeing the death of their instructor, which they deeply cared about - even from her strict attitude sometimes.
Jessica felt like crying when the Rhodes islanders are forced to leave her dead body behind in enemy territory. All alone.
Dobermann was sad aswell that her counterpart had died, which marks the end of her role in this modern warfare universe. She did not think she would die so quickly.
"So this means that anyone could die whoever they are?" Sesa asked.
"Sure looks to be that way..." Vulcan replied.
Amiya thought the same thing while looking back at the screen worryingly, hoping no one would die like Dobermann in this mission.
Amiya joined up with the rest of the group as they continue to go down the hill whilst fighitng any Reunion forces that were in the way.
Going to the road, they had to stop and engage a number of Reunion soldiers near the church. There were about 12 of them outside.
Amiya called for another air strike by the church before shooting one of the enemies with her P90. Moments later, the Harriers arrived and bombed their position.
The group make haste down the hill as shots were fired behind them. Amiya turned around to see groups of Reunion soldiers firing at them. She, along with the rest had to stop for the moment and fire back.
Amiya then threw a flashbang and a grenade to atleast slow down their advance. Kevin did the same thing as her by throwing two grenades at the enemy soldiers.
Amiya turn back around and led the group down the hill, passing by corpses of Reunion soldiers that were killed from the first ambush. As they were trekking down, Amiya got hit by a stray bullet which prompted her to turn around and fired half of mag in her P90 to the Reunion forces up the hill.
"Man these guys really want us dead." Noir commented.
"We did kill hundreds of their comrades." Yato pointed out.
Amiya turn back around and continue running down the hill to the path where they previously entered the village from the first mission of act 2. Not for long, she made it to the gas station from where they met Kevin.
The extraction chopper wasn't here yet, so she and the rest took their time to defend their position from the incoming Reunion forces.
After a few moments, the audience could her the blades of the chopper. Amiya turned back to the river and saw a chinook making it's way down the road.
"Finally, they've arrived." Swire said.
"Wonder who's rescuing them?" Bagpipe asked.
"Eh, probably some rando Yanese soldiers." Closure claimed.
The Chinook then landed on to the road as the back door open followed by four Yanese marines disembarking the aircraft. When Amiya walked to the chopper, the audience got a clear look on some of the marines.
"Wait a second....is that me?" Hoshiguma said.
"Oh shit, it is!" Swire replied.
"So she survived the nuke after all." Ch'en said while smiling that one of her comrades was still alive.
"And she's not alone too. There's Massey!" Franka pointed out, seeing the familiar appearance of the brown-furred Perro.
"Who?" Ansel asked.
"A Yanese soldier that has been fighting beside Lin, Swire, and Hoshiguma in Sargon." Steward answered.
The operators saw that both Hoshiguma and Massey along with the two marines were wearing different gear than they were in Sargon. Instead of a desert-camo uniform, they have a more darker appearance while wearing black BDUs and helmets.
Hoshiguma was no longer sleeveless as she wore her own black BDU while not wearing a helmet that was strapped in her back.
"Heard you guys need a ride outta here." Hoshiguma said before gesturing to the chinook behind her and her squad. "Get on board! Move! Move!"
Amiya went to the chopper, not before pulling out her radio and sending the coordinates for an air strike onto the hill. After that she went in the chopper as Hoshiguma, Massey, and the two marines give them cover fire.
"Let's go! Let's go!" Hoshiguma urged as she kept firing her T75 LMG to the Reunion forces.
Ch'en then went in the chinook followed by Bagpipe, Sesa, and Kevin. A moment later, Yato and Noir corne catches up with them and went in.
After all of the squad were in, two of the marines quickly went back in the chinook. Hoshiguma followed suit, not before patting Massey in the back that they're leaving. Massey fired a few shots to the Reunion forces before walking back in the aircraft.
"Alright, we're all aboard! Go! Go!" Hoshiguma shouted.
"Okay, we're outta here." Gryphon responded as the Chinook took off. "Baseplate, this is Gryphon Two-Seven. We got 'em and we're coming home. Out."
The Reunion forces tried to shoot the Chinook down, but to no avail as the Harriers swooped in and dropped their bombs onto the hill, killing them all.
The Chinook leaves the village as the mission ends with the screen fading to black.

"So i guess this definitely means that Yan and Rhodes Island are gonna work together to bring Reunion down." Folinic said.
"I can see that. It would be like a joint operation." Bagpipe replied.
"I'm actually surprised that me and Massey were there." Hoshiguma said. "I thought I was also part of the casualties from the nuke."
"Maybe you didn't participated in the battle at the capital city." Ch'en speculated.
"That could be the possibility."
"I gotta say, this mission was pretty intense than the last one." Doctor commented.
"Yeah, there were a lot more enemies than the ones chasing Kal'tsit and Ch'en." Closure replied.
"There were like hundreds of them too. Like a swarm of bees or wasps." Beehunter quipped.
"Glad they made it out from that intense battle." Blaze said.
"Well, except one...Instructor Dobermann..." Jessica stated with a sad frown on her face. Most of the operators realized and frowned aswell.
Jessica still had tears in her eyes. Goes the same to Dur-Nar in which she had let out a few tears before wiping it away.
Dobermann noticed this and put a hand on Jessica's shoulder saying that it's alright, and how it is what it is. Despite having a minor role in the story, she was glad to be part of it
"I can't believe she died. And i thought Dr. Kal'tsit almost getting crushed by that helicopter was close enough." Amiya said
"She was also the first Rhodes Island operator of this universe to be killed..." Folinic replied.
"Technically the third if you count the pilots by the fourth mission in act 1." Kal'tsit pointed out.
"But still, i can't believe it happened so fast." Catapult said.
"She didn't even got a hero's death..." Kroos remarked.
"Well, that's war kiddo." Hellagur called out to her. "Not everyone dies like a hero..."
"Crap, does this mean I could be next?" Sesa wondered in concern.
"Or maybe us..." Yato said, also feeling concerned. Noir, Barty, and Chard thought the same thing. They were part of the squad fighting Reunion, so there might be a chance they would be next on the chopping block.
"Hey, don't act like that guys." Dylan spoke up. "Sure the instructor is dead, but that doesn't mean you guys would too."
"Well we are the side characters." Barty pointed out.
"Yeah and you know what happens to them in movies or games..." Chard chimed in.
"Well let's just hope they would be careful enough in the field and live through this game. I'm sure of it." Dylan assured.
"Same goes for me and miss Ch'en, Bagpipe, and Hoshiguma. I'm sure all of us can make it through this." Amiya said, glancing at the mentioned operators for a moment. " The trio all nodded in agreement.
"Well since Hoshiguma's alive, guess this means we'll be seeing her kick some Reunion ass." Swire said with a smirk on her face.
Hoshiguma let out a chuckle. "Guess I'm going to be."
"And that means the two of us would be together in duty again." Ch'en pointed out, which earned a little smile from the taller oni operator.
"Like old times sake." Swire quipped before frowning a bit. "Wish I was there..."
"Hey, atleast picture that we're still avenging your death from that nuke." Hoshiguma assured which made the current LGD leader to smile at her.
"Well, let's move on to the next one shall we?" Amiya suggested, getting some nods. She then pressed the button as the next scene is loading up.
While waiting for it to begin, Doctor spoke up. "I wonder when Frostnova would appear again?" Their question piqued the interests of some of the operators. Those include Amiya, Blaze, and Greythroat.
"Oh yeah, i think the last time we saw her was in that coup mission." Blaze said.
"Well since the series will now focus more on Reunion, there's a good chance she may appear." Greythroat speculated.
"If we do meet her, I hope it doesn't go badly..." Amiya said.
"I hope so too." Doctor replied. They all look back to their respective screens as the next mission begins.

Hope you like that addition of Dobermann's death.
I feel like only hearing her in the radio as she gets killed just seems a bit boring on a narrative standpoint for me. So I decide for Amiya to stumble upon her dead body.
Anyways, Hoshiguma is back in action, along with Massey too. The latter will play a supporting role in this series aswell.
We still have one more chapter left to finish act 2. And after that it would be the interludes again for our lovely watcher - D.
See you in 'The Sins of the Father'.
