Since Arising Shadows is a remake of A Prophecy of Four, there are obviously going to be changes to the plot and certain characters. Hawkpaw, Berrypaw, and Applekit of ThunderClan are perfect examples of changes within the character aspect of the remake.

They are new characters to be introduced. Old OCs alongside Silentstar, yes, but characters that hadn't made an appearance in A Prophecy of Four alongside him; despite them originally supposed to be making appearances.

There is also the matter with Lionstar, who's story changing basically alters the entire Chronicles of the Prophecies series. I have also changed and altered Lionblaze's and Bumblestripe's central stories.

Then there are cut characters that were originally in A Prophecy of Four. Those characters being Ravenpaw and Hollyleaf. I have also removed Alderheart, Strikeclaw, Cloud, Quake, and Violetstar from MAIN POV character statuses. That decision was made to cut down on the amount of main characters. I only need Lionstar, Lionblaze, Dawnstar, Jayfeather, Dovewing, and Bumblestripe.

There is also the matter of whether or not the future sequences will still be a central part of the main storyline of the first book. Yes, they will. The future sequences are very significant leading into Redspots's Revenge and beyond.

I know this may come as a spoiler to some, but Lionstar still needs to have his death scene in order for Redspots's Revenge to even still continue. And, I WANT Redspots's Revenge to continue. Redspots and Lionstar's bond is significant to everything, and I need the future sequences for that to be made clear. It is not like I am going to throw Redspots into the present as that would absolutely break what is canon to Redspots's Revenge. Canon is very important to me, and I am already changing so much by making such a massive remake.

Lionstar will NOT have his original powers. And, Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing will not get their powers back for one last time. I am de facto removing abilities from all of my stories moving forward, for the most part.

I also want to touch on the more mental side of my main series, just as I have done with The Soothing Storm and its associated stories. (Even though the Chaos Sagas is arguably my main series now)

Hence why Lionblaze and Bumblestripe will both be getting deeper and more depressing story arcs. Same with a lot of my characters, even the main villain, Redclaw.

I write better when I show anguish and sadness, mixed in with some moments of happiness and joy. I write better when I put my character's emotions to the test.

And, as an addition, I do plan to mix in old story arcs from past renditions of characters like Lionstar and Silentstar. I also plan on possibly integrating old story arcs that come after Lionstar's leadership into later stories. (Old story arcs as in old stories from long before I started writing fanfics)
