11. Tough Emotions

Let me take your hand, I'll make it right

I swear to love you all my life

"Yeah, follow me", Jungkook said turning back down the stairs, scrunching his eyebrows.

They headed to the training room in the basement. The room had monotonous grey walls unlike the rest of the house. A thick mat covered quite a large range of the floor and there was a bench near the door, while an exercising bar and a punching bag stood to the right of the room.

"Since you don't have your powers yet so the only way you can protect yourself is by using your physical strength", Jungkook said as he walked to the center of the room. Rain followed him but barely dodged as he threw a punch at her abdomen. His fist stopped right before it made contact with her and Rain stepped back, her eyes wide open now.

"If you are going to go that easy on her then leave her training to me", Yoongi said. He stood leaning against the door with a tall glass of iced Americano in his hand.

Jungkook shrugged and stepped back. Placing the drink on the bench he strutted towards Rain. Standing in front of her, he scrutinized her. Within a flash of a moment he disappeared from her sight and a hard punch landed on her waist making her buckle forward with the impact. The pain spread across her abdomen.

"Avoid all that you can cause I'll be using my power to my advantage"

He disappeared again but this time Rain crouched down before his fist made contact with her. Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows and swept in for another attack by slicing a kick at her legs from underneath, making her fall hard on the mat. A slight smirk appeared on his face which enraged Rain. His next fist made contact with the palm of her hand as she blocked it. The attacks and defense kept going back and forth until Rain kneeled on the mat and hunched forward, gasping for air. Her body ached from constantly getting hit. Sweat shone on her head and her hair stuck to her neck.

"You have quick reflexes but they are of no use if you can't put them to their proper uses and while you figure out how to do that add running and pushups to your daily routine while Jungkook continues to teach you fighting techniques", Yoongi said as he left the room, a hint of a smirk on the corner of his mouth. Rain panted as she saw the shining bead of sweat on his neck before he left. His words made her feel that she had to prove herself to him.

Jungkook walked to her and held out a hand. Grabbing it she almost immediately felt weightlessness engulf her before landing hard on the mat. The impact made her bones sing as she clenched her teeth.

"Lesson one, don't trust anyone", Jungkook said as walked to the back of the punching bag. Rain glared. She huffed as she stood up with one hand supporting her back and said, "Yeah and you couldn't just do a simple trust fall". Jungkook turned to raise an eyebrow at her as he somehow opened a compartment in the perfectly concrete wall.

"Ahh! Leave it, it would have hurt anyway"

Chuckling he returned to her with two wooden sticks. The sound was amazing. He couldn't have been much older than her with his bunny teeth making her think of him as a cute but attractive boy.

He isn't that stoic after all.

Throwing a stick to her, he said, "Show me your fighting stance".

The stick felt as if it was being solely targeted by gravity as it threatened to slip from her hands. Grunting she placed her hand in the middle of its length balancing both sides of it's weight. Jungkook's eyebrows raised as amusement filled his violet irises. Staggering into position with one foot vertically behind the other, one closed fist in front of her chest while the other holding the stick stood strong in front of her face.

Jungkook walked to her. When he was half an inch away from her face, Rain drew a shaky breath. His eyes shimmered with interest. The joy blossoming in her heart died down as soon as it had come when something hard crashed into the back of her knee, her tailbone hitting the floor.

"Bend your first knee"

"You could have just said that!"

"Try again", Jungkook commanded.

Rain shifted into her previous position but this time her knee was bent. Jungkook nodded his approval before copying her form.

"Attack"

Rain dove headfirst. Her stick raised overhead while Jungkook easily blocked it by using both his hands to hold his stick above, making it into some type of a shield. Swinging her stick to the side she lunged for another attack to his side which was blocked efficiently. Frustrated she swung her stick towards his left leg but at the last moment she shifted the force to the right end smacking his calf perfectly while his defense on the left was rendered useless.

"Faking, one of the easiest strategies to land a hit. Great work, lets speed up shall we?"

Balancing his stick he lunged for a direct hit to her abdomen while Rain shifted out of the way bringing her own weapon heavily on his arm but Jungkook was faster. Within moments he swirled out of the way before bending down and swiping at her legs. Rain inhaled a sharp breath. It stung as if she was hit with a whip instead of a stick.

"Why were you on the rooftop?", Jungkook asked as he beckoned her to shift into position without wasting any time.

"Just needed some air", Rain breathed as she barely missed another attack, the stick grazing her arm. Was he trying to distract her?

"Were you thinking about your mother?"

Unspoken words of anger mixed with sorrow broke out on her face as she dove for another hit at a nimble Jungkook. But Rain moved on relentlessly as she swung, one attack after another. The sound of two clouds clashing resonated in the basement where Rain's figure heaved on the floor, inhaling air by the gallons. Jungkook's figure stood on top of her with his stick aimed at her neck while her stick rolled to a rest against the wall of the room.

"I understand Rain", Jungkook said, his voice softened several notches when he saw her mahogany eyes shimmering with tears.

Placing the crook of her elbow over her eyes, she breathed hard willing her tears to not cascade like a stream down her face.

"Aurelia... she was one of a kind. She cast a ring of her shield around all seven of us when we were going to follow her out to fight against the dark forces. That created a ward which like an invisible wall prevented any of us to even step out. Seeing us she had smiled and with that smile she strode to her steed before galloping out to fight, alone"

Rain had calmed down considerably as she heard his sweet voice fill the void.

"She gave up her life to keep her family and us safe. I'm sure she told your father to do the same to protect you. It's right to be angry but don't waste it. Channel it into your movements. That's your homework. Figure out how to use your emotions to your advantage", he said as he walked out of training room.

While she lay there with her eyes closed, Jungkook's words mulling in her mind she heard another voice.

"Goodness what did he do to you and to say that he had the audacity to leave you here after probably an act of betrayal"

She could hear the smile in Jimin's voice. Opening her eyes she was greeted with a wide smile showing all of Jimin's teeth and an extended hand. Her mind relaxed and she noticed how he was always the one who to calm a raging storm within her with just his cheerful voice. She smiled for the first time that morning and his golden honey eyes crinkled as his smile grew wider.

She looked at the hand and then at Jimin before saying, "You aren't going to flip me over, are you?"

Jimin laughed and shook his head. Grabbing his hand, Rain stood up and almost wobbled out of balance but Jimin steadied her.

"Don't worry that boy had done the hand trick on each of us except Yoongi who disappeared before he could land on the floor and when he appeared again Jungkook had already ran out", Jimin said making Rain laugh out loud.

"Jin is calling for breakfast but I'll have to take you to your room first, you need a shower", Jimin said as he wrinkled his nose.

"Yah!", Rain said as she elbowed him in the ribs and Jimin yelled out in pain.

"Oh come on, I barely touched you!", Rain said exasperated. Jimin smiled mischievously and wriggled his eyebrows making her laugh as they headed out of the training room.

The weak rays of the Sun filtered through the open window and so did the smell of wet mud which calmed Rain who had absolutely no idea how she had landed into a breakfast turned meeting when she was simply eating her cereal. It looked as if Jimin too had taken a shower when he left her as his blonde hair fell over his eyes in soft waves, Jungkook stood next to him a black tee and black shorts and when his eyes fell on her, he stared at her with an intensity that could hold the pacific ocean.

"The first thing we need to do is to find a way back to Velros", Jin's voice filtered her ears, forcing her to break her staring competition with Jungkook. "We need to get back there to have our powers reach their full potential and we need to get back what is ours". Jin's eyes twinkled with an incomprehensible thirst.

"Why?"

All heads turned to Rain. "I mean why do you need to find one when we can all simply go back the way you came from all those years ago"

"We can't, Zander has blocked all passages that allow me to go back to Velros", Yoongi said, his black irises dull and tired.

"From all of my deductions there must be a some sort of weapon that Zander carries each time he opens the gateway between the two worlds. Keeping that in mind do you guys remember the brooch Aurelia wore whenever she traveled to Earth?", Namjoon said earning quite a few nods from the room. "Well if we can find that then it might lead to something because there must be a reason why she wore it every time she visited this place"

"The third thing which is a possibility is that Rain's powers might be gateway opening powers but since I'm not sure lets drop the idea"

Everyone consented with their Leader.

"So you are saying we have two options, take an item from the lion's den or look for a lost thing which might or might not be the key to the gateway", Rain concluded.

"Yeah"

"Do any of you remember what it looked like?", Rain questioned.

"Yeah I remember clearly", Taehyung spoke. "It was made of sixteen pear shaped diamonds starting from a single file of them till they cascaded down the front of her shoulder in four separate silver strings. It was as if the diamonds represented the motion of falling rain."

As he said the last words, Jungkook's eyes flitted to Rain who now engaged with a stare down with her empty coffee cup.

"She has most probably left the brooch on Earth because the last time she wore it, it was right before the battle and there was no brooch on her robes when we saw her leave for the fight", Jimin said.

"Had anyone ever accompanied her during her visits? Or does anyone know what places she visited most often when she was here?", Ashlene asked.

"I did and there were three places she visted during her stay, one was MYRA Corporation, the other was the shop of our gateway and lastly Namsan Tower", Jungkook said.

"I suggest we divide into teams and search each of these places", Namjoon said. Having earned nods throughout the room he continued, "Ashlene, Hobi and Yoongi scout Namsan, Jin, Jimin and Jungkook for MYRA and Rain, Tae and I will go to the gateway shop"

With that everyone slowly filtered out of the kitchen leaving Rain behind, alone with her thoughts or so she thought-

"Why would you want to come to Velros with us?"

Startled, Rain's eyes almost immediately flitted to Jungkook's violet ones. "If you had asked me that two days ago I would have said I didn't have one but now I have enough reasons. If there is anyway that I can ignite my memories to return faster then it starts with Velros"

Jungkook said no more. He clearly saw the fire burning in her eyes, the fire of pain, anger and sorrow. Taehyung's voice broke the silence between them.

Hello Readers,

Rain and Jungkook are clashing just like those two clouds. While Jimin and Rain can be one of the most cheerful pairs you can ever find!

So it's time to go back to to their homeland and I wonder what they encounter in their journey to just return to Velros.

Keeping aside the story of all of them, we can clearly see Rain struggling. Let's just hope that she finds comfort in someone or becomes strong enough to overcome it herself.

Till the next update,

Au Revoir!
