Ariana pov

I woke up terrified. Scared to move. Scared to do anything. I had a nightmare where y/n left me. I knew it was just a dream but it scared me to even think about. I was whimpering quietly because I didn't want to wake y/n up. He looked so peaceful sleeping.

I kept thinking that my dream would come true. And thats when I lost it.

I was trying to control my breathing without waking y/n up. But I failed.

"You okay, babe?" He asked sounding concerned.

"N-no" I sobbed

"Wanna talk about it?"

"N-not really" I stuttered.

"Okay" he held me closer to him.

We sat in comfortable silence, the only thing that could be heard was my whimpering.

"Shh, beautiful it's okay.  Whatever happened in your dream can't hurt you because I will protect you."

"But what if you aren't here to protect me?" I said close to a whisper

"I'll always be here." He held me tigher.

"I love you so much y/n"

"I love you so much more, Ari."

And with that,  I fell asleep in his arms. Completely forgetting about my terrible dream.
