I woke up next to her.

Again.

She always says "this is a one night stand, it won't happen again" but somehow, it keeps happening.

As I'm staring at her I notice that she's waking up.

"Hi" I said awkwardly

She doesn't say hi back, she just jumps right to the chase.

"I think we should stop this. I mean this is a one night stand, not a two night stand, or a three night stand. Just a one night stand."

You knew she was going to say that, and you wanted her to say that, but a small part inside of you was screaming out "No y/n don't let her go!" You knew you had to let her go though.

"Okay..."

She breathes out a sigh of relief. You feel the same way she does she thinks.

"Where's my pants?"

"On my dresser" you mumble

She gets up out of your bed and slides her pants back on and says goodbye and walks out.

Over the next few weeks you run into eachother again and again.

It was always small talk though, nothing serious. But one day when you run into her at the store you ask her to go out for a drink and she says yes.

After a few drinks you both are wasted and in the bedroom.

The same thing that happened before happened again, except the other way around.

"We should stop this." You say after you both wake up.

She stares at you blankly. "You don't mean that."

"I dont, but this isn't healthy. I want a real relationship, but all you want is a bunch of one night stands. And I'm done with that."

She stares at you, waiting for the punch line. After she realizes that there isn't one, she gets up out of bed puts her clothes on. And walks out your door.

Over the next few years shes always on your mind. Always wondering about her, always wondering what you could have been of you didn't say what you did.

Would you still be having 'one night stands' as she calls it, with her? Would she have returned your feelings? If she did, would you be married by now?

One things for sure though, you were addicted to her, and you just had to get rid of your addiction.
