TW: Panic attack, suicidal thoughts, and self harm

| Rikki POV |

I sat up in my bed and adjusted my glasses staring into my phones screen. I was scrolling through my group chat with some friends from school, I had told them all about Ari the newest addition to my miserable life. Of course they were sus of her, I mean I dont blame them much she is online and I have been hurt many times by online friends but she seemed different in way. I dont know if it was the horrible attempts at flirting or the way she randomly spammed me at 4 am but she just felt....real?

I closed out of my texts and opened discord seeing Ari online. I opened up our chats only to see

OH MY GOSH WOMAN COME ONLINE ALREADY " 

I giggled as a reply to her furious attempts to get my attention, I let her spam me for a while continuously laughing until I finally decided to put the poor girl out of her misery and answer. 

" RIKKI OML ISTG COME ONLINE OR I WILL BREAK YOUR SPINAL CORD YOU PATHETIC RODENT "

" Ouchie "

" AAAAAAAAAAAAAA HI BABES :D "

" Hii :) so why are you spamming me- " 

I watched her icon type for a few seconds, we had matching six icons just to show that we are wives. She had taken the roles of Anna, Boleyn, and Aragon while I was Kitty, Parr and Seymour. The role fit us pretty well especially Boleyn x Parr. There was even one time where I painted my nails blue and green just to represent Parrlyn or more importantly Arikki heh.

" OK SO MY FAM AND I WERE ON VACATION AND LONG STORY SHORT I AM IN YOUR TOWN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA "

I starred blankly at my phone as my jaw dropped. Is she serious? This HAS to be one of her stupid pranks. She cant possibly be here, but just in case I still decided to play along. I gave her my address adding  a heart and inviting her over. My parents would be home in an hour so I would have to make her leave before then, but it doesnt matter because she is messing with me she isnt actually here. 

~ twenty min time skip ~ 

I was in the middle of fliming a tik tok when I heard a knock at the door. I grabbed my phone and texted Ari. 

" soMeonE's aT mY doOR whAt do i Do "

" Lmao bet answer it "

I rolled my eyes at her stupidity but decided to answer the door anyways, it could have been my parents coming home early. I opened the door and looked up only to see...

oh no...

Its really her.... what the-

" H-Hey Ace " she nervously smiled and waved at me.

I launched myself into her arms burying my head on her shoulder.

" YOU'RE HERE! YOU'RE REALLY HERE I CANT BELIEVE IT! "  I tried to hold back my tears but I failed miserably and began to sob into her jacket hugging her as tight as ever. 

She felt so tense and warm. I nuzzled closer into her choking on my own tears trying to speak. She was holding me and laughing nervously or maybe she was crying, I really cant tell. I dragged her inside and slammed the door behind us. She nervously stood by the door so I pulled her over to my room where we sat on my floor. We recorded a few tik toks, called some friends, and talked for what felt like forever ( filled with Six references of course ) until I heard another knock at the door. I got up and opened the door only to see my mother, drunk as always. I stumbled backwards and felt my panic set in.

" Hun, who is it? " Ari called from my room. 

My mom looked at me puzzled and stormed over to my room. In a panicked frenzy I ran out the door and didnt look back. I could hear my mother yelling as I ran faster down the street hoping she wouldn't follow. Once I got a few streets down I collapsed onto the floor, I was shaking, crying, and clawing at my own skin just trying to feel something that wasnt numbness. My breathing became quick and staggered my body was burning and my chest felt like it was on fire as I inhaled. I took the small pocket knife in my pocket and attempted to solve my pain the only way I knew how. After a few marks I pulled my sleeves down and shoved the item back into my pocket. 

Suddenly I heard foot steps running toward me, I braced myself for impact thinking it was my mother but instead I was met with a hug. I looked up and saw Ari sitting with me, she held me tightly against her as I shook harder. 

" Shh shh its ok Rikki, it's ok I'm here now " She rocked me back and forth a bit running her fingers through my hair. 

" Match my breathing, ok? " 

I did as she asked and pressed my ear against her to hear her heart beat, I quietly tried to slow my breathing to her pace. 

| Ari POV | 

I held Rikki as tight as I could biting back tears, I figured if I started crying that would only make her feel worse. 

" So ace, do you mind explaining exactly what happened back there "

" Im sorry..." her voice was shaking and she sniffled in between words.

" I knew my mom would get mad that you were there so I kinda just ran..."

" I see " I sighed and lightly planted a kiss on her forehead before resting my head against hers. 

I lightly rested my arm on hers and she looked up at me with fearful eyes. 

" May I? " I asked gently. 

I turned over her wrist and froze when I saw the marks. I fought back the tears that were threatening to break through and reached into my bag pulling out a first aid kit. 

" Y-You carry a first aid kit?? "

" You can never be sure whats gonna happen- "

Rikki giggled softly as I pulled out a wipe and gently wiped the blood away. She winced a bit in pain then nodded for me to continue. Rikki gazed at me as I cleaned off her wounds. 

" Why are you doing this? " she asked softly.

" Because I love you " I answered with a smile.

" But why? People have always hated me, haven't they? I mean they've told me to off myself so many times I've actually considered it. I'm useless, I'm nothing but an object for someone to take advantage of then toss aside. I just want to be free...from everything..." Rikki looked down at the sidewalk with a deadpan stare, her eyes glazed over with tears. 

" Thats not true..." I grabbed her hand and held it in mine

" Why do you love me Ari. " Rikki looked up with a hatred in her eyes, she seemed to be stating the question as if to imply I didn't actually love her. 

" You're adorable, you're funny, you're sweet and kind, you always make my day better, you're- " 

" Broken. "

" What? " 

" I'm broken Ari. " 

" Babes..."

" Nobody will ever love me for who I am..."

" Rikki, I love you and nothing can or ever will change that. "

Rikki looked away from me biting down heavily on her lip to try and stop tears from falling again. 

" You're the light in my darkest moments, I'd cross oceans to be with you. Ace, you are my everything. If I lost you...I wouldn't have a purpose anymore. I love you with every single fiber of my being and I mean that truthfully. " 

Tears rushed down Rikki's face as she tackled me into a hug. She listened carefully to my breathing and heartbeat in an attempt to calm herself down. 

" I'm sorry..." she whispered once her breathing calmed down. 

" You dont have to say sorry to me love, I just want to help you. " I pulled her into my lap and hugged her tightly. 

We sat like that for a few minutes before standing up and walking Rikki to her sisters house. Her sister took care of Rikki for the night and I stayed in a hotel. 

~ Wow a time skip to the next day who would have guessed ~

| Rikki POV | 

I opened the door for Ari and kissed her on the cheek as she walked into my sisters home. She smiled and got super flustered as usual. 

" I'm sorry I have to leave so soon " she pouted looking down at me. 

" It's ok, if I were you I would want to leave as soon as possible " We both laughed before an awkward silence fell between us. 

" I love you Bo-loser " her voice broke the silence. 

" I love you too, even if you can't dance " 

She held onto my hands and pulled me into a hug, after a final kiss goodbye I watched her walk away. 

" Stay safe! ALL MY LOVE CATHERINE~" I yelled as she hopped into an Uber. 

" XO BABEY " she yelled back in response, giggling as the car drove. 

 I closed the door and sank down to the floor with a grin on my face.
