CHAPTER TWO

A FEW HOURS later, the motel room was utterly, and completely silent. The only sound heard was the soft "tick. . . tick. . . tick. . ." of the clock hanging on the wall in the corner, and the faint chirping of the crickets from outside of the window. The moonlight shone through the glass where it hit the Winchester's face, and seemed to perfectly sculpt his features.
Dean laid with his back pressed against the cheap mattress below him. Ares sat beside him with his side resting against the bed, and the two of them resting on each other. The god was slowly tracing small patterns in the abdomen of the man he had just shared a night of passion with. Dean, on the other hand, was glancing up at the ceiling in pure concentration.
"So you're like, an actual god?" Dean Winchester asked as he pondered over the conversation the two males were sharing.
Ares thought over his actions for a moment. In the back of his mind he knew that the consequences would come back to bite him in the arse, but he could care less. "Yes." He replied while drawing a small constellation on Dean's stomach. "Born of the mighty Zeus, and his vindictive wife, Hera. How do you think I preformed my magic trick at the bar?"
"You know, I was really hoping it would be something that I could do too, but I guess that's off the table." Dean laughed. Ares let out a small chuckle at the other's response. He sensed the alcohol in his words, and it made the Olympian hopeful that his family would not make him erase Dean's memories of the god in total. ". . .You won't like smite me with one touch, right?" Dean asked, not looking away from the ceiling.
The Olympian let out a laugh. "I would never do something like that to you."
Dean listened intently to the way that the other male spoke. "Where's your accent from?" He asked while looking at the way the ceiling tiles connected with each other.
"Greece. It's where I spend my free time away from my family."
"But you spend time in New Orleans to have sex with incredibly good looking guys, right?"
Ares let out yet another laugh. He enjoyed how much Dean's little one-liner jokes amused him. "You're the first that's been hot enough for my tastes." The god smirked. "Actually, I'm here on a mission from my father."
"A mission?" Dean asked while breaking the staring contest with the dot that seemed to be made by a pencil someone threw up there. "What kind of mission?"
Ares over at Dean's face. He really didn't know if he should tell the other male or not, but when had the god of war ever listened to what he was told to do? "One of Zeus's children is stirring up trouble down on Earth. We have intel that it's in this hillbilly town, so I brought two of my sons and we traveled here."
"You have children?"
The Olympian smirked. "Are you jealous?"
"Why would I be jealous?" Dean scoffed. "I'm sure you have a wife or something like that."
Ares let out a chuckle. "You do realize that they have books on my life right? If you read them, like I do, you'd know that I do not have a wife but instead many, many love affairs."
"What are we going to compare the amount of people we've slept with now? Because I'm sure you'd beat me at that game."
A snicker fell from the lips of the god as he began to trace the figure of the other male with his fingers. He sculpted the curves of his abs, and as he did so, Dean fidgeted underneath his touch claiming that it tickled his sensitive skin.
"I had a really good time tonight. . . Better than I've had in a long, long time." Ares revealed in a voice just barely above a whisper.
Dean looked over to the other man, and gave him a small smile. He thought over the events of the night, and realized that he most likely would never have slept with a man before he met Ares. The god seemed to have that mesmerizing effect on Dean, that made him not want to pull away. Maybe it was the whole thing about him being an actual god, and this whole thing was just their ways. Whatever was true, Dean was glad it had happened. He wasn't too sure how he would tell his brother about his sudden change in what team he swings for.
"It was definitely a much. . . different experience than what I'm used to, to say the least." Dean explained. He scanned the god's face carefully, looking for some type of emotion expressed.
Ares slowly brought his hand up to Dean's face, and smiled at him as he started to trace the outlines of his features. "Do you mean that you've never slept with a man before?" The god asked, to which Dean nodded a reply. "One thing I hate about this modernized world is the whole putting a label on everything. People in Ancient Greece did not care about labeling their sexualities. They were free to be with who they desired. Nobody gave a shit whether you liked males or females."
The god's words hung in the air when neither dared to speak. The faint sound of rain hitting the windows filled the silence as Ares just laid next to Dean. The Olympian knew that the weather was a sign from his father, who most likely was not of the happiest nature. He never was when it came to most of Ares's actions.
"I never really thought of different times like that. I've always lived in the now, you know? I just— I don't know how I'm gonna tell my brother about you— us. . ."
Ares smiled at the man before running his singers along the male's cheekbones. "You do not have to tell him until you are ready. Tell him I am a hunter who will help you both."
"Good thinki— when did I tell you I was a hunter?" Dean asked, looking over at the other male.
The Olympian let out a chuckle. "I am the god of war, and you are wondering how I know you are a hunter? You are funny, Dean Winchester."
Dean only hummed in response as he climbed on top of the god, much like he was only a few hours before. After hovering for a few seconds, he connected their lips in a passionate kiss. The rain from outside began to pound ferociously as the two continued, and Ares immediately knew that his father was much angrier. However, he did not care.
Once again, the only thing on his mind was Dean Winchester.
