Shopping
Zak's Pov:
Ever since I invited Darryl over to my house, he has been coming over more frequently. It has come to the point where we are hanging out more at my house than in the main part of town. We don't really do much at my house other than just eat some cooked food or chat. There have been times when we play a movie on my TV, but other than that, we don't do much. It's more convenient this way to just meet at a specific spot that we know of rather than meeting at a random building in the middle of town.
It's been like this for a few weeks. This means that now is time to go shopping with the girls as Zoe. We decided it was best to go shopping for an upcoming event (or, in other words, party). So it was decided to meet up at an expensive store filled with dresses and maybe some jewelry. For my outfit, I decided to just wear loose black hair along with expensive pants, a shirt, and a coat. I always wear dresses as Zoe, but since this is just a simple hangout, I decided that it was better to wear something more casual... in terms of rich people, that is.
When I arrived at the place, I made sure to park my car near the back of the store so that the girls wouldn't see it. I have to be extra careful not to get my cover blown today since this is not a mission prepared by the agency but a personal request for me to get dressed up as Zoe. I don't have any potential backup or anything. All I have today is just me and my brain in order to get out of sticky situations. ...How lovely.
I was the last to arrive and was immediately greeted by the girls once they saw me. The store was quite big, so we had a lot to cover. Though, I honestly wasn't browsing as much as the others since I didn't personally have the goal of finding a new dress since at the end of the day, the agency will provide me one once I need to go on a mission at the event as Zoe. But I made sure to stick to my character and make it look like I was very interested and excited about shopping for dresses. Though, I will admit that a couple of them caught my eye, which made me look at them a bit too long...
After a while of browsing, the girls had a couple of dresses to try on. I was the only one who didn't have a dress to try on, which is probably for the better. Each girl took turns trying on dresses and showing them off to get opinions on them. After judging tons of dresses, Lily was the last one to try on dresses while the others already tried out dresses and have chosen a dress to buy. She comes out of her fitting room wearing the last dress that she picked, which was a peach color. As soon as we saw her, the girls either let out a soft gasp or left their mouths slightly agape at the view in front of us. Lily's peach dress complemented her blond locks of hair, and it just looked stunning on her.
Lily looked at us shyly with a flush of pink on her cheeks as she waited for us to say something. As I looked at the other girls I took notice that they were still in a state of shock, which means that they won't be saying anything very soon. I then glance back at Lily, who starts to look slightly worried at our silence. Looks like I'll have to take the first step. I smile brightly and say, "Lily... I think you just found yourself a perfect match. You make that dress look absolutely stunning on you." (Because our clothes don't make us look beautiful, we make them look beautiful on us.)
She smiles brightly at me and says, "Thank you, Zoe! I think you're right. I feel gorgeous while wearing this dress!"
The girls seem to get snapped out of their trance and immediately start showering Lily with compliments, stating how she has to buy that dress. Soon, Lily agrees and changes back into her regular clothes in the fitting room. While she does so, Allison looks at me and asks, "You sure you're not trying on a dress, Zoe?"
"Nothing seemed to really speak to me."
Jocelyn then says, "Come on, Zoe! Have a quick look around again. If you don't find a dress, then at least get some jewelry or something! It would be a waste if you came out of this shop empty-handed."
I give it some thought for a moment and then say, "Fine, I'll have another look around."
The girls smile at me as I start walking away through the aisles of dresses. After a bit of looking around carefully, I then decide to go into a quite secluded corner of the store where the view of the dresses in it are completely covered by a row of dresses. Once I go there, my eyes immediately land on a specific dress. It's probably the most beautiful blue dress I have ever seen. It's long and flowy and unique in the way that it's not plain but simple enough that it doesn't stand out too much.
(This is the dress. Just imagine that the sleeves do cover the shoulders.)
I go up to the dress and run my hands gently through the fabric. It's a nice quality. Perhaps this will do for the event. I hear gentle footsteps behind me and then a soft gasp. I hear the voice of Audrey say, "My, what a fabulous dress. Is this the one you want, Zoe?"
"Yes."
"Do you want to try it on in a fitting room."
I almost visibly shudder at the thought. I am NOT changing in a fitting room meant for women, especially trying on a women's dress by myself. I always have help with the final adjustments from people at the agency. I say, "No, that won't be necessary. I'll just buy it."
Audrey then says, "You sure? What if ut doesn't fit you and you need a different size?"
I look over the dress and notice the size of it. With how thin I am, I for sure will fit in this. I then say confidently, "Trust me. It'll fit."
I took the dress up to the front and bought it, as well as the others did with their chosen dresses. When they saw the dress I chose, they complimented it, saying that it would suit me well. I bid my farewell to the girls and watched as they all left the store with their chauffeurs. Once I made sure that they all left and none of them were watching, I went near the back of the store and entered my car with the dress I bought and made my way to the agency to return my outfit and report that I had a dress for a future mission.
