Another Successful Mission
I stand in an alleyway, waiting patiently for my cue. It's not even for certain if I'm going to be playing a part on this mission as I'm only for backup, just in case what was originally planned doesn't go accordingly. But it's better safe than sorry. So even if my time here is wasted for nothing, I need to wait here just in case I'm actually needed. I'm all dressed up and ready for action. I just need permission to actually start.
After what feels like forever, I hear a familiar voice in my earpiece say, "Skeppy, looks like it's showtime for you today. Things haven't gone as planned. But the good thing is that our presence hasn't been found out yet. The target has already left the building and is heading to your location. Remember, your goal is to collect the papers that the guy received, which are in his coat. Luckily, nobody is near you, so it should just be you and him soon. Start as soon as you hear footsteps or a splash of water as the streets and crosswalks are filled with puddles from the rain of earlier today. Good luck."
I reply with, "Roger that, Sapnap."
I let my wig cover my ears, as I'm wearing today an earpiece that could be visible to someone who pays real close attention. All agents pay attention to every single detail. I wait for a few seconds, paying as much attention to any sound that I hear. I finally hear the gentle footsteps of someone as I hear the faint splash of a puddle. It's showtime.
I let out a panicked, high-pitched scream as I let myself dramatically fall against the wall, onto the ground, creating a loud crashing sound. I then cover my face into my hands and start letting out muffled, fake tears. The footsteps stop for a moment before continuing. Soon, they get closer to me. For a moment, the sound stops. It is soon followed by a concerned sounding voice saying, "Are you okay, ma'am?"
I look up with tears in my eyes to see a man before me. It is exactly who I wanted to see, my target. In a feminine voice, I say with choked sobs, "N-no... a man just hit me and robbed my purse."
I put a hand over my face, where a fake bruise is. The man's face shows concern to me. It's amazing how easily a man can be fooled into helping an 'innocent' and 'defenseless' girl. It kind of helps me when I'm dressed as a girl because of the stereotypes of women and how they can't defend themselves from men. Well, I've met plenty of women who would prove that statement wrong. I'm currently dressed up as a purple-haired girl with hazel eyes (he's wearing colored eye contacts), and the one that picked my disguise and helped me dress up from the agency's group of stylists used some skin lightening cream on my skin, making it a bit lighter than my natural skin color.
The man gazes at me for a moment, pity visible in his eyes, before staring off into the alleyway. From where we are, the alleyway splits into two different paths, opposite directions. The man asks, "Did you notice where that man went?"
I sniff and say, "O-over there..."
I point to a pathway down the alleyway in front of me. The man turns down that path and takes a few steps into that direction, his back facing me. He then says, "I'll go see if I can catch up to that man and retrieve your belongings. What did the man look like?"
"H-he was wearing a burglar mask that covered his whole face but his eyes... I didn't pay attention to the color of his eyes, but he was a light colored man."
"I see, stay here for a moment, ma'am."
As he takes a step forward, without making a sound, I quickly get on my feet and get behind the man. With a steady move of my hands, I quickly knock him out. His body falls limp onto the ground. I have a huge grin on my face as I wipe away the fake tears from my eyes. I mutter out, "This is getting way too easy for me..."
Either they are recruiting more soft-hearted agents who trust people too quickly, or I'm really just that good at acting. I look down at the unconscious man before me. I could kill him right now, but I'm feeling a bit generous today. Plus, if he is always like this, then he won't be making it far in the spy world either way... Either he'll get fired or killed one way or another. I take out a little stick and kneel down beside the man. I take his arm and press the stick against his skin, making a little shooting or popping sound indicating the drug (medication) was injected.
The drug that I just used will make it so that the man won't remember anything that happened today when he wakes up. He won't have any information to give to his comrades. I give a little smirk in triumph as I open the man's coat to reveal some papers tucked in. Just what I'm looking for. Who knows what these papers are for, but they must be important if there was a secret exchange for these. I take the papers out of the man's coat and stand up. I look down at my work, some pride setting in that I was able to help to successfully complete this mission.
I'm not normally that useful in missions as my paper is normally to just act, but knowing that I just basically saved this mission from becoming a failure makes me happy. Even though it's very small, it's another step closer to taking down enemy agencies, and most of all, hopefully, take down TDO. I speak into my earpiece, "I got the package, Sapnap. You can call that another successful mission. I'm heading back now."
As I start walking away, I hear Sapnap say through the earpiece, "Good job, Agent Skeppy. I'll start letting everybody know."
