๐ฌ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ต๐ซ ๐๐ถ๐ฌ๐ peaked inside the newer roommates room, a suitcase being packed along with a bag while twilight was on in the background making Zoey surprised.
Nadia's eyes avoid the screen easily as it was practically prescribed for her to not look at screens.
She never thought Nadia watched romance movies. Especially not twilight.
" Stop stalking me." The two girls nearly jumped out of their skin as they clung onto each other, Zoey clearing her throat while Elle had a concerning wide smile on her face.
"I can't believe you're finally getting out! I thought you would end up a cat lady for the rest of your college years." She squealed and hugged Nadia, the taller girl feeling uncomfortable at the touch.
Elle backed away a little awkwardly remembering the circumstance she was currently in, and had no recollection of their bonding from the last two weeks, therefore giving her a motherly smile.
A smile Nadia actually smiled back at.
However, it dropped as soon as Zoey started talking making her go back to packing. "Did you...call your mom?"
"I did."
"What did she say?" The two of them heard her huff making Zoey scratch her head.
" A lot of stuff. Threatening to unalive me. Hopefully I was okay. Tried coming down here. Regular mom stuff." She paused and looked at Zoey.
"Aren't you going."
Zoey nodded as Elle's head turned to the screen, Jacob black taking her full attention as he turned into a wolf making her grin.
"...yes?"
"Then why aren't you packing?" She said as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
"I...we wanted to see if you were okay with everything. I mean you don't know him-"
Nadia faced her, her arms crossing as she looked to the short blonde girl, her eyes blinking as Zoey shut her mouth, poking Elle who was watching a shirtless Jacob black. "You aren't concerned, Zoey. I know why you're going, sure you're being nice because I got hit by a car covering your shift, but let's be real, if it were a problem or just outright stupid you'd stop me right?"
Zoey's mouth opened as nadia crossed her arms. "..yes."
"Exactly! And that's why you're my roommate!" She gave Zoey a sarcastic smile but was somewhat friendly and moved her eyes towards the door where Zoey then dragged Elle out as she was drooling over Jacob black. A serious conversation away from the scary newcomer.
One that Zoey would regret having.

"You told me you told her about her not actually being Zach's girlfriend!" A hushed but harsh whisper came from elle as Zoey covered the girl's mouth, her eyes widening like saucers.
"Elle!"
"We have to tell her! It's probably illegal not too!?"
"But this is the most carefree we've seen her, not to mention actually bond with another human being?"
Elle rubbed her forehead, a headache coming on as she avoided Zoey's gaze, the girl likely to cause an even bigger headache. "I love you, but how Nadia interacts with other human beings isn't really our business zo."
Zoey then rolled her eyes and sat down lazily, her head going into her hands as her fingers interlaced her hair. Elle however felt guilty for making her feel that way.
"Look, you tell her before even thinking about going- and the only reason why I'm not doing it is because I don't want a weird rift between you two and her yell at me because you didn't tell her the truth. You tell her, she decides if you two leave. Deal?"
Zoey bit at the inside of her lip, tearing it apart as she looked around all over the ground. An idea popping into her head.
She sits up from her previous position crossing her legs and looks at Elle, the eye contact burning for Zoey as it wasn't her favorite thing in the world.
"Deal."
Elle nodded and exited the room.
She wanted Zoey to find a boyfriend, make good memories, and have fun.
But she didn't want to ruin anyone's life because of something that sadly happened.
She was glad Zoey hadn't used the 'I've known you longer speech, be on my side.' using that speech just last week after problems had stirred up at the college.
But the two loved each other nothing less and wouldn't take it for granted.
Well, that's what Elle thought.
__________________________
BUT ZOEY HADNT SAID anything, she instead lied to elle saying she told her somewhat a truth but had pushed the morales girl out of the house with her bags before anymore questions could have been asked
Nadia's phone wasn't in the right shape so she was using her backup phone that only worked on wifi and promised to text her mom as soon as she got there.
Zoey of course is the one to text as she could look or touch a screen, doctors orders.
In the car she forced Zach to sit in the middle, to which he obliged with a tilt of his head and a smile. She hadn't felt comfortable sitting with his obviously man whore of a cousin who would definitely go after any girl who lived and breathed.
Hence the living girl being Zoey who was drooling over him in the back by Zach's younger sister, Avery. The younger girl moving profusely jammed out to the radio very intensely.
Nadia wouldn't admit it out loud in that moment, but Zach felt like the safest person in the car. Like he would tell her no lies. She was delusional in that department at the moment despite believing she would be single until she was thirty.
"I'm bored, can we play a game." Avery said, her voice straining of boredom, smacking her hands on her cheeks leaning forward with her head on the seat in front of her.
"How about.....the license game!"
"Isn't that boring."
Zoey looked to Nadia who slightly peeked over at her, head easily being able to move as it was laying on Zach's shoulder. "Not the way I play it, Nadia can object to that if needed."
But sadly, her memory hadn't gone away from playing the game with Zoey the first week they had gotten there. She had good intentions, but the latina was more of in a drowsy haze during that time as she had taken Benadryl hours before.
But what she could recall it wasn't that bad of a game, she wouldn't end her life over it at least.
"Stick with it kid." Avery nodded and looked to Zoey, waiting for her words to say how to play the game.
"You okay?" He whispered. His arm laying over her shoulders playing with the sleeve of his jacket he had let her wear before leaving.
"Your perv of a cousin won't stop staring at me." She said in disdain, the boy raised his hands offended considering he was just glancing at the car beside them.
She glared at him profusely and lost it when he looked away, the tense muscles in her face leaving while drowning out all the noise, specifically Avery and Zoey's. No offense or anything.
Through the mirror she saw Zach's mom refrain from saying an aw as she and the blonde sorta cuddled, Nadia slightly moved away from him but was brought back by his hand laying on her waist pulling her closer.
To him it seemed like the most natural thing ever, but Nadia had a look on her face and wide eyes.
Nadia realized that she had immediately gone into everything trying to make it feel like before, so she didn't get behind, so she actually did something to make her mom proud.
And yet, she felt the same. A few weeks of lost memory but it all felt the same.
Zach was more or less something she'd thought would relive her memories, any memories.
None bad occurred besides some slight deja vu which she thought was good, then she remembered that it could have been anything.
She and Zoey were friends from what she recalled, nothing more. She didn't trust the girl with her life whatsoever, but she at least trusted her to do the bare minimum and tell her the truth.
Before leaving, she could feel tension between Zoey and Elle, the thumbs up before leaving had definitely caught her attention.
She didn't say anything about it though and gave Zoey a side eye to which she nervously smiled ataned dragged Nadia out. Even willingly grabbing the heavy bags which brought her to the floor for a good five seconds before springing up.
"You think you'll survive without a phone for a few days?" Zach muttered. The bored look on Nadia's face contorting into a really look go which he just raised his hands in defense.
"We could try to sneak it, mom won't notice."
"I heard that Zachary." The blonde sat back, untensing his muscles but still having a heavy grip on Nadia who slightly smiled at his mom. Her giving a wink back as Avery groaned making everyone look in the back.
"I didn't count wrong Zoey!"
"You did." She said in disbelief, looking at Avery with a look.
When the two began arguing, Zach placed his hands over Nadia's ears. A real smile over taking her features as she hid in his shoulder.
"Will you two stop arguing!" Miles said annoyedย hitting his head on the window a couple times with a whine as he drew his hands down his face.
"Well Zoey's being stupid, aren't you in college?"
"Avery." Mrs.Mclaren warned, turning around and looking at her daughter with a warning look.
Avery sighed and dug through a bag and took out a tablet, giving Zoey a side eye and an eye roll as the blonde leaned forward and laid her head on the back of Nadia's seat and basically drooled over miles.
Luckily no one noticed as they were too busy talking about the trip and even so glancing at the couple every now and then.
No one knew why Zach hadn't told them her name or anything about her, his mom was smiling and excited to finally meet his girlfriend while his father ignored everything more or less and was more excited for the weekend and their trip.
In all honestly Zach's family was surprised to see his girlfriend and were a little confused because she had a different personality than what he described. But Zach was never one to get things right if it wasn't right in front of him.
When a flash entered the vision of all the children in the back they all groaned but the two teenage girls, one completely out of it and the other a little awkward but tried embracing it.
Nadia didn't want anyone to feel like they made a mistake on taking her, luckily from Connie Maclarens attitude and actions she was treating her better than expected, especially from her next words that absolutely terrified the two of them to their deep core.
"I can't wait to show you these at your wedding!" Nadia shrunk down at the mention of a wedding as Zach closed his eyes. "They'll go well next to you and miles bath pictures!"
"What!" Both the males said in horror, Connie turning around in glee while Nadia and Avery glanced at each other stifling a laugh.
"Don't worry Avery I got some of you too!"
From that on Avery shrunk in the back seat and the couple only talked to each other, more or less Nadia poking fun at Zach while Miles played on his phone and Zoey watched everything from her corner.
___________________________
NADIA HAD FALLEN ASLEEP. But Connie McLaren phone didn't, Its shimmering dark blue phone case emitted a light as she turned around and snapped a picture of the couple with a cheeky smile.
Zach himself caught it and widened his eyes.
"Mom."
Connie had looked at her son with no shame and shrugged, Zach slightly smiling as he carefully readjusted his arm.
Connie softly smiled at him, Avery groaning as she tapped away at her tablet elbowing Zoey every now and then with no shame.
"It was cute! Do you wanna see?"
He raised his brows at Connie who pointed at his face and laughed. "Oh wait, you can't!"
"Real funny mom."
"Oh come on, let me see that smile."
He tried hiding his pearly whites, but the only thing he was able to hide was his voice as he failed to keep a neutral face.
Connie pinched the boy's cheeks and smiled at the two's cuteness, cuteness aggression then making her mess up his hair and let out a smile.
"You know she's better than we expected. I personally love her."
A huge smile overcame the blonde's face, a blush enduring his cheeks while his eyes looked to the sleeping brunette on his shoulder, heart fluttering even if she wasn't latching onto him as much as he wanted her too.
Everything had been going by super fast, especially with waking up with no memory of anything but the last two weeks. But something felt familiar, and that familiar had to have been Nadia.
Zach felt so at home with her.
Which was ironic considering they've only met once.
Not that anyone knew that.
Not that Zoey gave a fuck, clearly.
"She'd probably like to hear that." He muttered, hand messing with a piece of her hair that had been wild and out of place. Connie shook her head and her finger for a simple second.
"Nuh uh, Ms grumpy would not. How do I know your girlfriend better than you z bear!"
"Mom, please don't!"
She blew him a kiss and sat back forward in her seat, rolling her eyes when seeing her husband being all grumpy and pissy.
Matt McLaren was never emotionally there.
He could seem all happy and welcoming on the outside, but he wasn't exactly like that when the curtains were closed.
Zach got the hard version of him growing up and current.
You'd call the blonde a mama's boy for how much he could relate to his mother, from his looks to his emotional connection to others.
Something the elder McLaren hadn't had in a while from what Zach could recall.
Emotionally, his relationship with his dad made him hesitant in life. Not wanting to get into anything if he was emotionally unavailable. Luckily he could sort out his thoughts and had a great mother who was there for him whenever he needed.
He had many friends, but not enough to ask how he felt, not enough to know who he was and what he could do in certain situations.
Zach made peace with that knowledge.
"Hey, psst, Zach!" The teenage boy slowly turned around and had a raised eyebrow. Zoey whispering harshly in his ear slightly tense as she eyed Nadia.
When he was slightly turned she gave a smile and wave before directing her eyes towards Nadia. "How's it going!"
Now both his eyebrows were raised, scratching his head at the awkwadd tension that was taking over the two. Sadly everyone else had been passed out on the car ride but Zoey.
"I mean...good."
Zoey hit the seat a little too harshly making Zach looked around awkwardly. A large smile overcoming her seat as she did a little celebratory move before pausing and clearing her throat. "That's good! So happy for you two. Aren't you so glad she came this weekend!"
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" He said a little confused, his thumb unconsciously running over Nadia's hand as they had been interlocked, something Zoey also noticed.
She hummed and brought her hands together. "You know she talks about you a lot!" Yeah, once and it was complaining. Zoey thought.
His stance perked up as he looked around the car. The music in the front that was playing was loud enough for the two adults to not hear them talking, glancing down to the girl while he looked into deep thought.
Zoey then gulped, maybe she had said too much. What if he remembers to early. That wouldn't be good.
"Thanks Zoey. Makes me feel better about everything."
Zoey blinked. "About what? Is it bad? It's not bad right."
He let out a little chuckle and turned around. "You're really nosey, you know that."
Her cheeks enflamed a bright red as she shrunk down into her seat, a harsh elbow to her chest as Avery turned trying to get comfortably and held it the cough.
Zach cringed at his words and turned around again. "That was a little harsh....are you okay?"
She gave a thumbs up and he muttered a sorry once more. His mind twisting and turning with all his thoughts, luckily many were gone due to the amnesia and with that he wouldn't blow up with stress.
Sadly he had to live with them when they did come back, hopefully it wasn't anything too bad.
Especially now that he had a girlfriend he clearly adored. At least he remembered her.
As much as he learned in the last four hours, she didnt like words. She loved actions. So what you did would affect her, what you say would just piss her off and annoy her.
She had a somewhat disdain feeling towards zoey, clearly not her favorite roomate. Loved avery and her snarky comebacks. Didnt really get to know his parents yet, but he could tell his mother was planning out the next four years.
She was quiet to anyone she didn't know or didn't like, more comfortable when getting to know.
That he could tell by the amount of space they'd have time to time, but he'd repect if that was just her in general.
Nadia Morales felt like everything he needed. And yet even though everything felt so strange, it felt like it belonged.
What belong you may ask?
They belong.
