Current year- 1992

Ramzi Yousef plan to attack the united states. Yousef was determind to put knowledge to work and send a message exploding across the western world. Arriving in New York in September 1992. Yousef tried to enter the country by presenting a bogus passport and no entry visa. Questioned by Authorities, he requested political asylum and got a scheduled/pending hearing. Then he vanished into 250 million people. Investigators would later learned that Yousef soon sought out and came under the influence of a egyptian cleric named Omar Abdel Rahman, aka the "Blind sheikh" who later introduced him to some of the men who became his accomplices.

He chose the World Trade Center as his target conviced that thousands of Jews worked in the Twin Towers. There was just one flaw in his scheme: the lack of funding. KSM, Yousef uncle ( Khalid Sheikh Mohameed who was later held by the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camp under terroism chargers, also known/named as "The principal archeitent of the 9/11 attacks" in the 9/11 commision report. Also known as KSM.) wired $660 at one point. But in the end yousef has to abandon plans for a more elaborate explosive device and resigned himself to building a basic fertilizer bomb.

Shortly after noon on Febuary 26, 1993, He put it in a retel van and killed six people, injured more than 1,000 and according to the FBI "carved out a nearly 100 foot crater several stories deep." The resulting explosion ripped through the garage under the North tower of the World Trade Center. Smoke and Flames filled the building and the bomb caused property damage of 3 hundred million dollars. The images of thousands of innocent workers scurrying from the building in the chaos were seared into americas consciousness. That night, and for weeks, months, years, television news aired images of the bombing. 'Beyond the deaths and damages' was the statement Yousef made with the brush incursion. The United States cab be attacked. Not overseas. Not at an embassy. But right here at home.

It was determined that "yousefs instant notoriety as the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing inspired KSM to become involved in planning attacks against the united states."

In 1994 KSM and Yousef travled to the philippines to set up shop. The list of potential plots they developed. They discussed various methods to assassinate both President Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II on their upcoming trip to Manila. They considered smuggling explosives on board. The plans eventually were discarded as impractical because philippine authorities has heighted their defenses for the vist. Eventually they settled on another idea, known as "Bojinka."

The Bojinka plot called for the virtually simultaneous bombing of 12 US Commerical jets over the pacific, using operatives to planet the explosives. Had the two men succeded they would have created unmitigated horror in the skies and likely cripped the American Airlines industry for years to come. No doubt the extreme nature of it would have prevented millions of American from trusting air travel for a very long time.

KSM helped yousef acquire materials to build the bombs and timers and they began to study airline schedules and case specific flights. But the project came crashing down on January 6 1995, when a fire broke out in the kitchen sink of a Manila apartment where yousef "the chemist" was building his bombs. It was just days before Pope John Paul's expected arrival in the country for World Youth Day.

The men fled, but philippine authorities showed up and found the bomb-making materials as well as a laptop full of names, addresses, and operational details of the assorted deadly plans they conceived. It was a huge discovery.

Yousef fled the country. But was later tracked to Islamabad, Pakistan and was brought back to the US the same day on a flight to New York City and then into a waiting helicopter for the final miles to manhatten. As the chopper approached the Twin towers at night, an FBI man removed a blindfold yousef has been wearing and said "Look, there still standing."

KSM's nephew resisted the taunt "they wouldn't be." he said "If i had more money."

Osama Bin laden, who has money, a leadership structure and a expanding group of disciples in Al-Quda. KSM and Bin laden aranged a meeting and offered several new propsials. Bin laden was skeptical of one proposal.

KSM weaved together elements of the bojimka plot woith Myrads idea to fly a plane into the CIA headquarters and come up with a plan to hijack ten US domestic aircraft on the same day. Nine of them would crash into buildings on the west and east coast including the World Trade center, The pentagon, the capital, crating widespread panic. The teenth plane would land safety at a unspecified US airport, and the pilot, KSM himself would deliver a speech denouncing the US policies in the middle east.

A little more than 2 years later,in the early 1999. Bin  laden told KSM he liked the fundamental concept of his proposal, to use airplanes as missiles agaist US landmarks, but the orignal idea of ten plane were too complex. He suggested to work together to determine the number of aircraft abd select specific targets. Bin laden would provide the manpower.

It would be now known as "planes operations."
