Lucy's Past

Don't play music yet.

No P.O.V

Lisanna was looking at Lucy eager to hear about her past. "Well..." Lucy sighed. "Okay I'll tell you...," Lucy looked at Lisanna, "But you CAN'T tell anyone am I clear?" Lisanna nodding her head quickly, "I promise Lucy-chan I WON'T tell anyone." Lucy, now convinced she won't tell anyone, sighed and began to tell her tale, a tale she hoped she'll forget, but she knows it will ALWAYS be in her mind, haunting her, taunting her, making her life a living hell. "It all began when I was just 5 years old...,"

Lucy ran in the garden giggling and playing around, her mother, Layla Heartfillia, sat off to the side watching her only daughter play, "Momma, momma look a cute butterfly landed on my nose." Lucy whispered as to not scare the little butterfly, her mother giggled, "Yes sweetheart I can see that.", her mother replied with a smile, Lucy smiled "I'm gonna give it a name." Lucy was now thinking, after a few seconds she got the perfect name, "Aquarius." Her mother looked shocked, "What was that Lucy?", she questioned her daughter. "Aquarius, its name is Aquarius." Lucy said with a small smile. "Lucy, sweetheart, why will you name the butterfly Aquarius?" Her mother questioned once more. "Because it's the first celestial spirit you introduced me to." Layla couldn't help but smile at her daughter, "What a wonderful name Lucy." As soon as she finished her sentence, the butterfly flew away. "Oh no Aquarius" Lucy said with a frown. "Its okay sweetie maybe Aquarius has a family to go to." "Maybe...but if Aquarius does have a family I hope their happy." Lucy said giggling with a big smile while looking at the butterfly fly off. "Lucy dear it's time for dinner." Layla said looking at the now setting sun. "Okay momma let's go eat, I'm starving." Lucy said while dragging her mother towards the mansions door. "I see my little butterfly is hungry." Layla said picking Lucy up. "Okay Lucy go to the table, while I go get your father." She said putting Lucy on the ground. "Yes momma." Lucy said running off to the kitchen. As soon as Lucy was gone Layla let her smile fall, a frown now replaced the smile. "Oh Lucy my sweet little sunshine, my bundle of joy, please forgive me for not telling you." Layla whispered to herself as she made her way up the stairs, coming face to her husbands study, Jude Heartfillia, taking a deep breath she knocked on the door. "COME IN." Layla knew that voice, the voice belongs to her husband. Opening the door she walked in, "Hello darling it's time for dinner." She said with a forced smile, she knew, he knew, they both knew what will happen to her after dinner. "I'm not hungry." Jude responded not bothering to look up from his work. "Jude you have to, THIS is the last dinner I'll be able to have with both of you." Layla said with teary eyes, "I don't want to die without having dinner with the two people I love." She continues, tears now running down her face. "DAMN IT LAYLA!" Jude shouts, slamming his hand on the table, "I don't want you to go, it's to early for you to go," he said tears now running down his face, "what am I going to do without you." Jude said covering his face with his hands. "Jude...," Layla said walking toward her husband, "I don't want to go too...," She took a deep breath, "but we both need you down there for dinner please, can't you do that for the both of us." She said hugging her husband, feeling him nod she smiled. "Thank you darling." Jude smiled a sad smile. "Anything for you dear." Both getting ready, they headed down the stairs into the kitchen, where they saw their only daughter. "Momma, papa just in time dinner is ready." Lucy excitedly said with a big smile. "Of course Lucy." Her father said as he took a seat, Layla took one next to him. They ate, chat, and laughed. They seemed happy but, if you look at Layla and Jude you can see fear, why dinner is coming to an end and so is Layla's life. Layla didn't want to die, she didn't want to leave her husband, her only daughter, but she and Jude know there is absolutely nothing they can do for she as an uncureable illness. As dinner came to an end with clean plates in the kitchen holder, Layla and Jude were now tucking Lucy into bed. "Goodnight Lucy." Both of the parents said in unison. Lucy yawned, "Goodnight mama, papa." She turned to her left side and fell asleep. The young blondes parents silently left her room. "I can't believe this day went by so fast." Layla said choking on her tears. All her husband can do was hug her, and whisper sweet nothing in her ear, he wasn't doing any better tears fell out of his eyes.

Jude and Layla sat on the couch in the living room, crying holding each other in their arms. They've been married for so long they couldn't imagine their life without their significant other. During their crying Layla began feeling tired. Not a sleepy tired, a tired she couldn't explain. But it felt welcoming, warm she couldn't fight it. She slowly closed her eyes, she can hardly hear the voice that was yelling her name, until everything went dark. "LAYLA LAYLA LAYLA!" Jude yelled desperately for his wife to wake up. 'Shes asleep she'll wake up in the morning that's right.' Jude desperately tried to convince himself. But he knew she was dead, that she'll never come back. That he'll never see her smile at him. That he'll never be able to see her chocolate brown eyes. That he'll never hear her laugh. He'll never hear her tell him how much she loved him. Shes gone. And shes never coming back. During all of the yelling Lucy woke up. "Papa why are you yelling in the middle of the night?" Lucy was tired, very tired she wanted nothing more than to lay down and sleep. Lucy then noticed her mother. "Papa, mama's sleeping so please don't yell." She said walking over to her dead mother. "Mama wake up go to be-" She stopped after she touched her mother's arm. She was cold. Freezing. "Papa...why is mama so cold?" Lucy questioned while looking at her father. However he didn't answer, he was just looking at his wife's face, with no emotion whatsoever. "Papa why is mama so cold?" Lucy questioned once more. "Your mother is cold because shes not here anymore." She was confused to the response, 'not here?, but shes right there, and shes cold, so cold.' "But Papa shes right here, shes not gone." Lucy stated. "YOUR MOTHER IS DEAD LUCY, AND SHES NEVER COMING BACK!" Jude yelled, making Lucy take a few steps back, waking the maids and chefs up in the process. 'Dead? Mamas...dead?' That thought was just repeating over and over in Lucy's head, an never ending-loop. She began shaking her head side to side. "N-no that-thats not tru-true!" Lucy cried out the tears flowing down her face.

Lisanna was looking at Lucy with sympathy. "Lucy...if this is to much for you, then you dont have to tell me." Lucy had tears running down her face, it hurts her to recall the events of her past. "No I want to get this weight off my chest..." Lucy said looking away from her. "Alright, but dont push yourself..."

A few days had passed since the death of Lucy's mother, the death of Jude's wife, Layla Heartfillia. They had buried her in a lovely grave in their garden. The death was hard on both of them. Jude had lost the woman he had  married to for years. Lucy had lost one of the people she loves. The maids one of their great friends. They were all trying to move on. At least most of them.

Lucy was skipping down the hall of their house. She waved and greeted the maids and servants she passed. Opening the door to her father's study, an unpleasant smell came from behind the door. "What's that smell?" Lucy asked herself. Entering the study, she saw her father asleep on his desk, next to him were brown bottles. "What are those?" She once again questioned herself. Walking closer to inspect the bottles, she was startled by a groan that belonged to her father. "Papa!" Lucy said happily as Jude began to wake up. "What?" Jude asked rubbing his forehead. "Urg, my head aches. Damn, probably a hangover..."
