Prologue
'The woosh of the wind, the smell of the breeze. Such a relaxing sense these days',
Thought the hidden aurora in the cold breeze. At least, it seemed like just a beautiful aurora, the green pink blue wave in the sky, crashing with the dark indigo blue of the night, but it was more than that.
A dragon, an ArouraWing, a living breathing hybrid. Its translucent wings and horns highlighting the night, a beautiful sight in years. The creature seemed to be floating mid-air, gliding across the night sky in an ever-so-graceful way.
With a tilt to the left, it soared across to a small brown snowy mountain. The creature's multicolored eyes seemed to slice across the air.
With a small thump, it's claws landed on the frigid snow, which with even a small touch shivered in the creature's bones in delight. Yet that delight didn't last long. They knew what was coming now.
After the landing, the creature tilted their head up to the misty sky.
The bright aroura seemed to fade away with every step the creature took farther from it, dimming a soft multi colored glow. In the distance, a small light tilted over the horizon, spilling a soft orange-yellow light.
The creature smiled a sad smile. and shook out its wings farther and wider than it has done before.
After a small pause, the ArouraWing folded it's wings in swiftly, causing the aroura to slowly fade away. With that, even the soft light that was the aroura on the creature, faded away as well, the comforting glow of everything else fading away and away into a nothingness.
"It's your time..."
Exhaled a voice sharply, before the light fully faded away.
Now, the sun was a bit higher in the horizon.
The ArouraWing looked behind it, seeing nobody there.
They knew who it was anyway.
"I know.. Just let me enjoy this, this last sunset I'll probably never get to see again."
Whispered the creature, with the dim orange light flashing softly on their face.
It was quiet for a while, until the voice spoke again.
"Until the sun rises fully, like the fall of sand in an hourglass.."
The AuroraWing- no, Nacreous, nodded in gratefulness, sadness, and understandment.
It looked at the sky, and awaited for their last sunrise.
