Okay, so I've read what a lot of people think about why Dani is a girl and not guy, even though she was cloned from Danny Phantom.

The theories are usually either that Dani having mixed DNA from two people (Most commonly Danny and Sam. Gee, I wonder why that is...) or that Danny is Trans (Like, what?).

First I'm going to explain how these are a lot less likely, and then I'll give my own take on it (Warning: there will be science involved. In case you really hate learning.)

To start off, Dani is the mixture of genetic information from two separate sources. This is impossible. Dani is specifically stated to be a clone of Daniel. The definition of clone is

"an organism or cell, or group of organisms or cells, produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical."

This means she can't have mixed DNA from other organisms. On top of that, why would he use someone else's DNA? He wanted the perfect half-ghost son, and he wanted Danny to be that son. Mixing DNA from other organisms wouldn't cut it for him.

Second theory: Danny is Trans. I'm sorry, but no. They show a picture of him as a three or four-year-old boy in the episode Maternal Instincts. That should be a deterant right there. Secondly, he is built as a scrawny teenage boy. No amount of surgery can make you completely different from your original self- there would still be tell-tale signs.

He would have more fat on him to start off with. You can have all the surgery you want, but it isn't going to change the fact that girls require more fat percentage than men.  Men are healthy at 5- 10% while women require at least 15%. If Danny was originally a girl, then he wouldn't be as lean as he is in the show. Also, all of the other clones are boys. I could continue this, but I have one more thing to discuss.

And, that's my theory.

I think it's quite simple really. It all comes down to the chromosomes. The one thing that separates a man and a women in their chromosomes is the X and Y chromosome.

If you remember from 9th grade Bio, men have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome, while women have two X chromosomes.

The X chromosome is the most critical chromosome in the human body. Without it, you can't live. So, this is my theory.

Each sample of DNA taken from Fenton was missing vital information. Most had missing/corrupted X chromosome information, but retained most of the Y, so that when cloned the organism would become unstable and dissolve (because the clones were fast grown from ectoplasmic embryonic fluid, they simply reverted back to their original state. Long story.)

However, after many failed attempts, there was an off chance and one sample of DNA had missing/corrupted Y chromosome information. With enough information on the X chromosome, the clone stabilized... for the most part.

This is also completely plausible. Many women are born and live with only one X chromosome. They most commonly have diseases like Turner Sydrome , and this is what I think Dani has, and here's why.

Women with Turner's disease are often shorter than most others, because of developmental issues.

However, they usually function pretty normally with possible learning disabilities.

Because she is a clone grown in a ghost lab, where Ectoplasmic embryonic fluid meant to become a male, in her case she became unstable. Just not unstable enough to dissolve because she had the required life information on the X- Chromosome.

If this were the case, the clones couldn't be from a girl and become a guy.

So, there you have it. My theory on why Dani is a girl.
