Part 34: Masterpiece

"I'm tired. I don't want to be here with all these people right now."
She said, pulling back as soon as the song stopped blasting.

"Well, Spaceballs is on in 20 minutes on channel 52." He suggested, hands still on her waist.
They left, walking back to the room hand in hand. Neither was sure if it was to hide their powers or just because they just enjoyed the contact. It was becoming a little addicting.

After they had changed, the Hero and her Villain crawled into the bed and flipped to channel 52 just as the opening credits for Mel Brooks's masterpiece was starting to play.
Somehow they ended up with her head against his shoulder and their fingers entwined.

Toxic played with a ringlet of her hair, twiddling it around between his long and spindly fingers as she slept peacefully pressed against his side. The moonlight that streamed through the open balcony door gave her golden locks an almost heavenly look.
So beautiful...
He thought to himself.
He looked at the clock at the bedside.
It was 1:05 in the morning and something was keeping the Villain awake.
He had felt her guilt today, twice.
Toxic couldn't believe it had finally happened. First, when he had turned the shower on for her. Out of nowhere it had hit him like the destructive wave of a tsunami; giving him the most excruciating, short-lived headache of his life. It was guilt all right, but unlike any he had ever experienced before. Strangely, he couldn't read what it was she was feeling guilty for, but he knew with absolute certainty that it was her guilt.

Then a second time, after he had showered, he sensed it again. You'd think the second wave wouldn't have been so bad, that his mind would have adjusted to it, but no, it had been just as excruciating as the first.
He felt as if it were killing him inside. Lying in the hotel bed, all he could think about was how much he hated that feeling, the horrendous feeling her guilt gave him. He couldn't understand it, and he certainly didn't want to feel it.

Why can't I read it? What was she feeling guilty for? Was it what happened last night... or was it something else?
He lay in the bed, silently pondering on this. She sighed softly and shifted in her sleep. causing the brim of her V-Neck tee shirt to slide down, exposing the crest of her breasts just slightly.

The Supervillain realized he was staring. His palms began to sweat, his body temperature rose and he felt his pulse steadily increasing. This reaction his body was having frightened him.
Toxic bolted off the bed and dashed for the bathroom, flipped on the light and began splashing cold water onto his face and neck. This calmed him down just slightly, the unusually uncomfortable bad guy peaked his head out of the bathroom and looked over at her. His sudden movements hadn't woken her. It hadn't even fazed her, she really did sleep like a rock.

What's going on with me?
He wondered, staring intently at his reflection; black curls clinging to his wet skin.

A/N: Hey guys,
It seems as if an earlier chapter has deleted itself. It's the one that details Galaxy Girls time in Toxics lair after her resurrection.
It's called:
"Kill You Later".
and I just republished it for anyone who hasn't read it.
