Chapter Two
"Ta-da, Sorcerer Arcky makes his grand entrance!" He looked at her in surprise, his eyes widening. "Oh wow, hey, you're awake! That's great, I was starting to get worried!"Arcturus gasped. She gave him a look, gripping her nightgown. "Kidnapper..."Topaz muttered. "Wait! Kidnapper! Wh-What was I supposed to do leave you there!"Arcturus flinched alarmed. "Please tell me this is a joke..."Arcturus says glancing away. Spica cleared his throat, Arcturus looking at him. "That took longer than expected, were you distracted by other things"Spica frowned. "Sorry. A lot of stuff happened on my way here it's not even funny"Arcturus chuckled rubbing the back of his head. "I'm late, because I took care of every single distraction! So did you two socialize while I was gone"Arcturus smiled.
She gave him a small suspicious look, scooting away slightly. Spica sighed and shook his head. "Did you even prepare anything I asked for?"Spica demanded. Topaz looked between them, frowning. "Yep, prepared it all! The transfer sheet, all the other required paperwork, communication magic tool, Stella Tab, the list goes on!"Arcturus grinned. "Here, these are all for you!"Arcturus smiled. "Her name is Topaz..."Spica informs. "Topaz is a pretty name!"Arcturus smiled impressed. "Home..."Topaz says looking at them both. "We don't know if we can send you home yet"Arcturus says. "But we decided to strip all formalities down to a minimum, sign those and you are enrolled in this school as a transfer student"Spica adds on stepping closer and handing her a pen. "You cannot complain about our decision whatsoever, not that this isn't a mutually beneficial measure"Spica went on.
Papers slapped him in the face, Topaz running past him and out of the room. "Ah wait! Don't run, we're not gonna hurt you!"Arcturus called chasing after her. "Troublesome!"Spica says grabbing the items and following Arcturus, running down the hallway. Topaz looked around, her eyes wide as she searched for an exit, her hair whipping around behind her as she dashed down the hallway, starting to feel as if she was getting lost. She tripped over herself, her eyes wide as she fell to the ground. "Ms Topaz!"Arcturus called running over alarmed. "Look at that, she's sprained her ankle..."Spica sighed shaking his head. Arcturus picked her up, carrying her back to the room and setting her down gently. "That stunt you pulled wasn't funny..."Spica frowned looking annoyed.
She looked away, Arcturus bandaging up her ankle concerned. "Now if you don't mind I want to finish my explanation"Spica went on. "Our world is different from yours"Spica informs. "We're in Bound Arlyn, edge of the world and the beginning of the rest of the cosmos, Blessed by the Eighty-Eight Constellations"Arcturus adds on. "I know this all sounds scary and confusing, but there's no need to run away or panic, we'll find you a way back home in no time!"Arcturus promised. "You really shouldn't be making any false promises, Arcturus"Spica says Topaz looking at him her eyes widening. "But I agree with him in that your exceptional magical talent requires our most dedicated care and attention, otherwise it is a risk"Spica went on.
"Magic..."Topaz muttered staring at them both. "Remember how I dropped out of nowhere when we first met? That's your magical talent, Summoning Magic!"Arcturus explains. "It's one of the hardest, riskiest kinds to pull off! Even the Great Sorcerer uses it to fetch personal belongings"Arcturus went on. "Furthermore, one must first fulfill a condition known as imprinting to summon a living subject"Spica informs. "Imprints are consensual oaths between creatures, I don't see how you two could have reached a consensus beforehand"Spica continued on his arms once again crossed over his chest. "Hmmm....well it would've just been an anomaly in the spell, didn't Topaz summon from somewhere ordinary"Arcturus suggests.
"You're right, it's not completely impossible that a complication led to this certain phenomena that replaced said condition"Spica nodded looking deep in thought. Topaz shuffled her feet, staring intently at them both, starting to make this uncomfortable with how much she was doing it. "Uhm, anyway, back to what I was saying...."Spica went on. He looked at her seriously, making her blink. "Topaz, we intend to protect and support you to the best of our abilities to prevent any and all possible risks"Spica promised. He pointed to the transfer sheets, Topaz glancing down at them. "The best way to do so is to become a qualified student at the Contell Academy of Magic like the rest of us"Spica says sounding as if he was trying to bargain with her.
"Topaz, you'd be Contell's very first transfer student!"Arcturus smiled. "Stop faking it..."Topaz says staring him down. "You guys don't care about me...you care about what I can do...don't fake being kind to me"Topaz says looking down. He stared at her stunned, then glanced at Spica who looked shocked. "Sorry if I hurt your feelings...I am a genuinely nice person, I'm not faking it at all"Arcturus says giving her a concerned look. He kneeled down, tilting his head to the side so he could see her face. "Don't worry Topaz! We really mean it when we promised to help you, we're gonna do everything we can, promise!"Arcturus grinned giving her an encouraging look. "First we should call upon the Guide Committee"Spica interrupts.
