"What are these walls about," Suzuki asked as the plane entered American airspace.

"Because of the melted ice caps endangering the city, the country built walls around all coastal towns and cities on the coasts of the United States to prevent catastrophic flooding... And everyone took climate change as a joke" Fuse said, the Eevee reading a book as the plane started descending into the airport.

"Hm," Suzuki said, the Zorua looked back down at the long wall extending across the ocean.

Cargo ships had to dock at the wall, and their cargo would be shipped via lorry or train into New York.

When they got to the subway there was an A train already arriving at the station. The trains were still being operated by Pokemon rather than being automated.

"Still being operated by Pokemon?" Tybalt asked.

"Rio's subway isn't automated either, so what?" Suzuki said.

"Fine, you have a point" Tybalt replied.

That night Aquarius 3 got some startling news, "Arise was hacked, all of them"

Fuse looked up, "Are you serious?"

"Nope," Suzuki replied, "X hacked them, made them attack Berlin Habhanof. There are so many bodies there that the station has been closed off. They had to be shut down, Daedalus is going to collect them and examine them"

"I hated them, but I just feel bad for them now" Louise replied.

"Same" Landon replied.

Then Louise found the criminals next target... "X is going to target the president"

"How do you know?" Fuse asked, getting up and walking over to Louise's computer.

"I just intercepted some malicious code being sent to some police officers in Brooklyn" Louise replied, "Also President Castle is in town since he's from New York"

"Where is he going?" Fuse asked.

"Times Square, for a speech" Louise replied.

"Let's go!" Fuse replied.

Half an hour later, President Castle a Ninetales emerged from his limousine with the secret service in front of him. The Pokemon in the crowd cheered as he stepped out of the vehicle. Castle waved as he looked around at his fellow New Yorkers. Suzuki and Tybalt situated themselves in the crowd as they searched around for the police officers, Fuse and Landon were in the subway station when the two officers emerged from the uptown platform. The two set their paws on their guns and followed the officers up the steps and toward the middle of Times Square.

The secret service officers noticed the police officers walking toward the crowd aggressively and were immediately suspicious so the walked toward them before they could do anything however the officers drew their pistols and fired at the secret service agents, both of fell to the ground trying to cover their wounds, the crowd started screaming and getting out of control, the agents drew their pistols and started shooting at the officers, but their armour stopped most of the bullets, they drew their pistols again and killed all the agents opening fire on them in seconds. The president got in the limo and closed the door, one of the rogue officers shot the tyres of the limo, Fuse and Landon drew their pistols and opened fire on the officers. They turned around and started shooting at the two, they both rolled away and kept firing at the officers.

Tybalt pulled out a sub-machine gun and opened up on the officers, Suzuki pulled out a small disk and pushed a button on it, the sharp ends of the disk started glowing purple as she hurled it at the officers, the disk decapitated one of them and came back to Suzuki, Landon jumped and slammed her burning sharp tail into the other officer but he still didn't go down. Fuse activated his claws and sliced him in the face, blood squirted on the window of the limo as the president watched in horror, the Pokemon fell backwards onto the sidewalk beside the limousine, a huge sizzling claw mark on his face. Aquarius 3 deactivated their enhancements and holstered their weapons before going to see if the president was alright.

Louise ran over to the decapitated officer, his nametag said "Belize" the other officer was officer "Graves"

Louise plugged a wire into Officer Belize's neck and started to try and trace the malicious code, "It's coming from some apartments in Brooklyn, East New York"

"Lets go" Fuse said.

"Wait!" President Castle shouted.

They turned to see the Ninetales panting from relief, "How can I thank you kids?"

Fuse smiled, "Just be an inspiring world leader"

Then with that, Aquarius 3 was off for Brooklyn.

The five members entered an abandoned apartment building, weapons ready. Standing at the window surrounded by computer monitors processing code was X. This time she was a Braxien with a cybernetic implant on her head.

"Please lower your weapons" X requested.

"You just tried to kill the president of the United States, I don't think so" Fuse said.

"I only did that to get your attention" X said.

"You still pose a threat to any and every Pokémon in the area" Louise said, cocking her P90.

"Wait!... Are you the reason we're having glitches" Tybalt said.

"I would have had the idea and carried out with it... The glitches are echos of your past, your real past, the past you believe you have is nothing but a cover, a curtain hiding secrets" X said.

"That's a lie" Suzuki said.

"Right, that's enough, your coming with us" Landon said, holding up electro cuffs.

X unplugged yourself and smiled brightly, "I'm afraid I can't do that... If you refuse to listen to me, then I'll be left with no choice but to show it to you"

X jumped backwards, smashing herself through the window, she landed on top of a subway train nearby. Fuse and Landon jumped onto the train as well, Fuse grabbed onto Landon, the top of the train was still slippery from the rain and she almost fell off.

"Careful" Fuse said, grabbing her before she slid off.

"Thanks" Landon said, the Pikachu got a weird feeling in her chest, she didn't know what it was but she decided to ignore it.

X slid between the subway cars and entered the train via a storm door. Inside it was quiet a few Pokémon talking to each other but nothing to crazy, some watched their favourite shows on a sphere they had on their heads, these were known as iGlobes. Landon and Fuse entered the train car, unfortunately the train arrived at a station and X bolted for it.

Fuse and Landon ran after her, off the train and down the steps of the el station. Landon flicked her wrist, "Lets split up"

"Right... Louise where is she?" Fuse asked as he ran after her.

"Running down toward Kings Highway where the subway turns onto 98th St" Louise replied.

"Got it" Fuse replied, then he activated his exosuit, black fabric started to materialize around the Eevees body as he ran after X. Finally the suit was ready, with glowing red lines on the side of the suit.

While he was running Fuse noticed the same Eevee looking at him from a car, then she suddenly glitched away. The Eevee was distracted enough to almost get himself hit by a car.

"Fuse be careful!" Louise shouted.

"Sorry I had another glitch" Fuse shouted.

X ran into a park and hid behind a tree. Fuse reached the entrance to the park and drew his pistol. Landon arrived at the other entrance before the Pikachu could move though she heard screaming and saw a Pichu being pulled away from a wooden structure that was up in flames, then it glitched away.

"What the..." Landon started, then she was suddenly hit in the back with an electrotruncheon, she grunted and fell to the floor the Pikachu picked herself up and snarled, standing behind her were two mysterious and tall Pokémon, an Incineroar and a Garchomp. Both wearing red goggles and wielding sparking electrotuncheons which are weapons that have tasers at the battering end used by the police for subduing criminals.

Landon turned around and activated her glowing searing hot tail, the Garchomp charged first and swung at her, Landon grabbed the truncheon and twisted the Garchomps arm before jumping off the ground and impaling her tail into him, he screamed and collapsed, the Incineroar swung wildly at her, eventually striking Landon and knocking her down the hill, the Pikachu groaned and held her arm, it was broken and now that she was injured she was more vulnerable.

"Tybalt, ah, I have one hostile possibly more targeting me, my arm is fractured so please take care of him," Landon said.

"Got it," Tybalt said, he grabbed a medical kit and got out of the car, the Riolu pulled out a weapon and activated it, what came out was a small slender blade surrounded by cool blue light, he sliced the Incineroar in half and ran down the hill to give aid to Landon.

"Hey, what happened" Tybalt asked.

"That bastard nggh swung at me and got lucky" Landon replied.

"Where's Fuse?" Tybalt asked.

"Looking for X, I hope he's okay" Landon replied, seeming kind of nervous.

Tybalt tilted his head to one side, "That's the first time I've heard you sound concerned about Fuse"

Landon's face turned red, "Really?! Oh, these glitches"

The Pikachu looked down at the grass as Tybalt finished wrapping her arm, "You like him don't you?"

Landon's face turned redder, "What the fuck are you talking about?" She shouted.

"Your face tuned red which means your worried about him" Tybalt said, then he laughed to himself.

"I don't!" Landon shouted, blushing madly.

"Are you sure?" Tybalt asked, laughing slightly.

"Yes!" Landon shouted annoyed at her colleague.

Then they heard gunshots, the two got up and ran over, Fuse was panting as he held up the weapon, Landon saw that he had shot X who had a pistol in her paw. The Braxien suddenly started moaning and shaking.

"No" Fuse said then he ran over to her.

"Please she said, don't - let me die" She said.

"Look at me" Fuse said squeezing her paw, "I'm sorry"

"What h-happened - Ah" She coughed blood, "Please don't - let me die"

"Look at me, there's an ambulance coming, just stay with me" Fuse said.

The poor Braxien was crying and whimpering, she had no idea what was going on, why she was dying or why she was shot. Unfortunately, her wounds took a toll on her body and she gave out. Fuse let go when he realised she was dead, Tybalt put his paw on his shoulder.

"Her name was Hailey George, she was a nurse at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, no criminal record, had a girlfriend Sarah Satice, a Torracat" Louise said, "She was digitally possessed by X, then when she got shot X removed her memory code from her body"

"That has to be the only reason she was acting like that earlier" Suzuki replied.

Fuse sat there quietly, he couldn't believe he had killed a civilian, let alone watch her suffer and cry in agony as she died, Landon whimpered nervously as she looked at Fuse's nervous face, she had never seen him like that before let alone concerned about making a mistake agents like him made in the field all the time.

The Eevee couldn't sleep that night so he sat outside on the balcony looking down at the New York traffic below.

"Fuse"

He turned around and saw Landon standing there, then he looked back down at the city lights and floating adverts.

"It wasn't your fault" Landon said.

"She was in a relationship Landon... I saw a wedding ring fall out of her pocket, Satice was living nearby too" He said.

The Pikachu sat next to Fuse and sighed, "The cybernetics in my eyes... they should have been able to alert me that she was in there, what's happening to us?... I know I'm gonna get in trouble for saying this but I think X is actually onto something"

"What do you mean?" Landon asked.

"Our pasts... Of course I still think she's trying to turn us, but I think it's time to start asking questions about ourselves... About who we really are" Fuse said.

Landon squeezed her fist, then she didn't know why but she hugged Fuse. The Eevee was surprised, "Stop talking like that"

Fuse sighed and rubbed her head, Landon felt her face warm up, "Yeah, I don't know why I said that"

"See... That's better" Landon said, Fuse was still rubbing her head, "Are you gonna stop doing that?"

"But your head is so fuzzy" Fuse said.

Landon's face turned redder, "N-never mind"

"Thanks for hearing me Landon, you have no idea how thankful I am that you decided to listen to me go on about something so stupid" Fuse said to her.

"Your welcome" she said, fixing her shirt.

"Well, I'm gonna hit the hay, see you in the morning" Fuse said.

"Okay" Landon said, she sat down and squeezed her paw, she wished she could just say what she wanted to say, but the words wouldn't come out, "How come I'm feeling so weird all of a sudden? I-Isn't it normal to be in love with another Pokémon?"
