Pledis Studio, Seoul

The audience in front of us, our target, were high schoolers, and they were quite fickle. Former After School member, Jung-ah sunbae, nodded encouragingly and, when she clapped at the end, I knew that we had done great on our cover of BANG! The applause let me know that the attendees thought it was good, too.

"I'm thinking the song should be called 'ADORE YOU' because that's nice," Woozi hyeong tapped his lyric book with the pencil.

"Aight, aight, I get that but what about changing 'you' to the letter 'U' to add some coolness?" I looked at the song written by him, S Coups, and one of the Pledis composers.

"Wrap up- we still have the special project to shoot," one of our three managers announced.

Before we began, we had a meeting that concluded with all of us receiving rings. Looking closer, I saw my stage name on the thin band of metal. Maybe I should have my converter encased in metal to appear as an ordinary piece of jewellery, I mused as all 13 of us placed our hands, palm facing downwards, on top of each others'.

Mingyu and Jun hyeongs started vocalising the intro to Shining Diamond and I joined them.

"Yeah, Seventeen reppin the P man. Ha yeah Let me show you how it's s'posed to be done right now," I took a breath before really spittin' fire. "Yeah I know I'm only 17, I only got a few dollars. But it doesn't matter at all, it'd be no problem. I already went through all the time and pressure so look carefully, I'm that diamond."

After minutes that felt like an eternity, Dino and I went ahead with, "Oh yes, I'm that diamond. You can't copy this, seventeen carat. Each minute, each second is like a jewel. Enjoy your time, this is your life hun."

I was watching a variety show that Raina sunbae was on.

"I heard a rumour about Vernon," Jessi, one of the biggest baddies of K-pop changed the topic of discussion to me. "I heard that he has huge potential. I want to listen to Vernon rap."

I was shocked that I hadn't even debuted yet but I already had an idol as a fan. I would work hard and prove that she was right.
