KYLA 9

A recording studio, LA
In the lull after the emotional graduation ceremony from Albert Einstein Academy and ILEAD Exploration, I decided to visit what I loved best: making music. Without the stress of planning choreography or rehearsing in stadiums for concerts, I fell in love again. If I could go back in time, I would still have been a Pledis trainee, because I got to experience Korean culture. This mini-album, however, would be different. It would be mostly English, something I would have pursued under the agency, given a chance.
"Yas, yas it's a homecoming
Yeah, light it up
Lemme' me hear you get loud
Yas, light it up, it's a homecoming
Lemme' me hear you get loud
Light it up, light it up, like it's homecoming
Yeah, everybody dancing now
Yeah, we're so stunning
Light it up, light it up, like it's homecoming
Light it up, everybody dancing now
It's a homecoming, yeah"
Homecoming would have had a stage debut at Saugus, if COVID hadn't happened. Even without the pandemic, I probably wouldn't have attended ANY school event, the night-long dance being an irresistible trap for a shooting. Alex suggested a small gathering of our closest friends to celebrate the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. It was scheduled for next weekend, and we'd spend the 4th of July with our families before preparing for college.
After all I had been through and the incredible support I had received, I decided to pursue psychology. With the dystopian health system of the USA being known globally, my help would be a small stone in this ocean. But there would be a ripple effect, concentric circles lapping to the shores of Santa Clarita and beyond. I decided to incorporate the holistic approach of using crystals for healing. Yes, they were placebos, but people shouldn't be deprived of what provides them comfort, because it was not "rational or reasonable". You wouldn't take away your baby brother's teddy bear, during teething after all.
