Big Hit Studio
"EUUUNBIII!"
I was waiting at the bus stop and looked at the car that had just parked in front of me.
"You're heading to the studio, right?" Jeongguk flashed his bunny smile at me. I nodded and he opened the back passenger door for me.
"Annyeong Yoongi and Hoseok oppa," I sat on the leather seat and buckled up.
"How was school?" they asked simultaneously.
"You never ask me that," my fellow student pouted.
"Because you barely attend," the ironically named Suga replied as he drove onto the main road- he was as salty as the ocean.
"And we haven't debuted yet," J Hope laughed.
I smiled as I told them about the various activities I did that day- and I swear, the guy sitting next to me hung unto my every word fondly. Nah, it's just a trick of the light, I shook my head as they told me about how excited they were to debut.
The receptionist told Eunbi and me that the CEO wanted to discuss my contract while BTS were out, filming some pre-debut Korean covers of popular American songs.
I took a seat next to her, nervous.
"Eunbi and Eunbi, I'm sure you've noticed that the trainees I had in mind for the girl group decided to annul their contracts," Bang PD nim began.
"Yes," our voices dropped a quaver.
"Miss Jung and Miss Hwang, the both of you are talented and I don't want your light to dim by training here with another set of trainees who might leave," he was deep in thought. "I have decided to recommend the two of you to other agencies who will treat you well."
"Thank you," we bowed. The CEO may have shattered our hopes with the former sentence but the latter almost made up for it.
"Here are their details," he handed us a printout. "I promise that once Big Hit is successful, I will uphold the promise I made to you last year, to be a member of a girl group that will change the face of K-pop."
Bang PD nim allowed us use of the studio to record our demo tracks. He then sent this to his contacts by email. All we had to do was wait.
"So, you'll no longer be here," Jeongguk texted me.
"How did you find out?" I put down the book I was reading to reply.
"Tae noticed that the female trainees were gone."
"Yes, he's right," I started to text a joke about how he already missed me and was about to delete it when my finger slipped and pressed 'send' instead.
"I can still see you at school so it's not so bad," the bunny surprised me. What I had expected to read was a 'nah, I won't miss you at all'.
"You need to attend more often, then," I smiled when he replied with a "maybe".
