It was a normal day in Miyamasuzaka girls academy, weekend was approaching so everyone was rather happy.

As normal, a certain pink-haired girl is running around the halls with no worry. Greeting everyone with a joyful "Wonderhoy!!" full of energy and happiness. People don't pay attention to this too much, as it is normal.

The girl soon notices a certain purple-haired upperclassman of hers and runs up behind her.

"Asahina-senpai! Won- won~ Wonderhoy!" She beams, throwing her arms into the air.

"Hm? Ootori-San?" Mafuyu mutters as they turn around to face the short girl, flashing a smile "Do you need something?"

"Eep!!" Emu yelps, a scared look forming onto her face, causing a confused look on the face of the latter.

"A- I wanted to ask if you want to eat lunch with me!" Emu blurts out as quickly as possible, shaking her head rapidly. "But if Asahina-senpai doesn't want to, then it's completely fine!"

Mafuyu is silent for a while. "Alright then, let's eat lunch together"

And soon they both were sitting on the rooftop, eating their food as supposed.

Emu can't help but sneak glances at the other as they eat, suddenly stopping and turning towards Emu.

"Ootori-san? May I ask you something?"

Emu smiles nervously and nods rapidly, "Of course!"

Mafuyu is silent for a while, then asks a question Emu would have never excepted them to ask.

"I have a spare ticket to the aquarium, and I thought if you wanted to come along?"

Emu almost faints, but instead of doing that she jumps up from her seat and screams: "I would be happy to come, Asahina-senpai!"

Mafuyu is a bit startled by this, then chuckles at Emu's sudden burst of energy.

"Then, we can meet up tomorrow at the aquarium" they say as Emu sits back down.

"Okay! Can we exchange numbers so you can inform me when?" Emu questions, very loudly.

"Of course. We can enter our numbers into each other's phones" they suggest, and Emu nods, digging her phone from her pocket.

Emu stared off into space, blushing and muttering to herself.

"Don't you guys think Emu is acting a bit weirdly?" Nene suddenly asked.

"Now that I think of it, she kind of is" Tsukasa mumbled, then yelled "Hey! Rui, stop that!"

Rui cried out like the drama queen he was "Ah! Tsukasa-kun didn't love me anymore!"

"Shut up!"

"Rui, stop bothering him!" Nene grumbled. "I have all the right to get a vegetable here right this moment"

Rui immediately stopped trying to ruffle Tsukasa's hair and stood up straight.

"You two are messing around when there's clearly something wrong with Emu!" Nene scolded and began walking to the girl.

Tsukasa glared at Rui for a second and went after Nene, the tallest quickly following after.

"Emu? Are you alright?" Nene asked and day down next to the flushed Emu.

"I'm not sure! I think they asked me out! I don't know if it's a date, but they invited me to the aquarium earlier today!!" Emu immediately bursted out.

"That Asahina-senpai you so much talk about?" Rui questioned and placed a hand on his chin.

"Yes! Them!" Emu confirmed and squealed.

Nene smiled "That's great to hear, you can spend more time with them and maybe even confess your feelings."

"What do I do?! What do I wear? Do I compliment what they're wearing? I don't even know if it's a date!" Emu cried out.

"Hey, it's fine. Just be yourself and try to keep your cool" Rui calmly worded out, making sure Emu would understand.

"I'm sure it goes well!" Tsukasa smiled.

Emu stopped panicking for the most part, now beaming with joy again.

"Yeah! It'll go WONDERHOY!! And we'll both have a very wonderhoy day!"

It was off to a very good start indeed. Emu was running around her room, not sure what to wear at all.

It took her a long time, but she managed to settle on a white button-up, loose jean shorts and a pink, cat patterned harajuku cardigan on top.

She took a small bag, one able to easily be carried on the shoulders, made sure she looked good and rushed out of her room and stuffed her shoes on.

Thankfully she didn't live too far from the aquarium, meaning she could easily get there by foot, which she did. Rather early as well.

She plopped on a bench near the entrance, looking around for when Mafuyu would arrive.

She checked the message they had sent her last day.

"I'm gonna die of excitement!" Emu muttered, grinning to herself as she checked the time.

"Just a few more minutes, Emu! You can do it!" She said, hyping herself up a bit, her thoughts quickly getting away from control.

"I wonder what they're wearing" she thought and blushed, and started leaning back and forth on her seat.

"Ootori-San, greetings" a voice suddenly rang from her side, she quickly turned around towards Mafuyu.

They were wearing a rather simple outfit. A black dress on top of a cream-coloured turtleneck.

"Asahina-senpai! Wonderhoy!" Emu beamed and shot up from the bench.
"Please, just say Mafuyu" they answered, a smile forming onto her lips.

Not genuine

"T-then you can just call me Emu!" She said , trying to hide her frightened expression.

"Alright, Emu. Shall we head inside?" Mafuyu asked.

"Yeah! Let's go!" Emu beamed a smile again and hurried after the taller one.

"Good morning, tickets for two?" The lady at the front table asked as the duo walked to her.

"Yes, I have them bought already" Mafuyu answered as Emu waited off the side, looking around.

"May I see them please?" From that, Emu didn't listen to the conversation anymore, but was distracted by a screen showing a documentary of seahorses.

"Emu? Do you want to go now?"

She snapped her head back to Mafuyu, remembering the situation and nodded.

The two walked around for a long time.

Although there were many interesting sea creatures around them, Emu only paid attention to Mafuyu, who seemed generally interested in the fish, looking at them with a rare look in their eyes.

Emu blushed as the slightest smile formed onto Mafuyu's face.

Genuine

Truly beautiful. Emu could look at that to the end of the world.

She quickly felt herself getting nervous again, her heart beating faster and faster by the second.

She never got the answer to if this was a date or not.

She opened her mouth, then closed it, changing her mind.

She was like that for a while, before Mafuyu turned towards her, quickly noticing her nervousness.

"Emu? Are you alright?"

Emu almost exploded there.

"Yeah! I'm fine!" She convinced, and Mafuyu seemed to believe it.

"We can move on, then. The tunnel tank is next" they said, gently taking Emu's hand in their own and leading her towards the tunnel tank.

Emu bit her lips and stared down at her and Mafuyu's hands.

Their hand felt cold, yet it gave off a warm feeling, that quickly spread to Emu's face, now almost the same shade as her own hair.

They entered the tunnel tank, Emu now completely incapable of noticing her surroundings.

There was no one else in the tunnel, just the sea life behind the glass, and Mafuyu and Emu.

Mafuyu let go of her hand and sat down on a bench, Emu following their action and sitting next to them.

She had to ask. She knew that she had to, but she couldn't.

"Uh.. Mafuyu?" Emu quietly muttered, more nervous than ever before.

"What is it?" Mafuyu suddenly responded, turning their head towards Emu.

"Say.. uhm... Is this a... Is this a date?" She quietly asked.

Mafuyu thought for a while.

"I guess I intended it at first, but didn't know if to tell you it not"

Emu's eyes grew wide as she stared into Mafuyu's eyes.

"Are you.. fine with that..?" Mafuyu asked, unsure if Emu's reaction was good or bad. She was hard to read sometimes.

"WAAAAHH!!" Emu suddenly burst out and clinged onto Mafuyu, hugging them.

"I love you! I love you, Mafuyu!" She cried out, not showing any signs of wanting to let go of the other, ever.

Mafuyu was caught off guard, but they quickly hugged her back.

"I love you too, Emu" they quietly whispered.

The two stayed there for a good while, hugging each other, until Emu pulled back.

"Can I..?"

Mafuyu smiled, and nodded.

A genuine smile

Emu took a deep breath and leaned in, connecting their lips together.
