Two: City After Hours 🔞
Seoul.
The capital city of South Korea - the place where movement is consistent, technology is modern, and there's a sense of rush and urgency in the atmosphere these days.
A place that once felt like home.
It was home, can't deny that.
The same city that was once filled with desperation of being normal - well, for those who don't experience it. They throw it right to your face with the propaganda and billboards of the ideal family standards that one should be pursuing for - no, urging for.
Similarly to the American dream.
Maybe mortals see it differently, but as someone with abilities, it's a dream too difficult to reach for and accomplish without something happening.
You're always caught, no matter how good you try to hide.
A city once filled with everyone dreaming to fit in now became a city where everyone is living in that illusion happily, or at least portraying it: Not a frown in sight, or hysteria of stress that once use to coat the streets for distressed being with abilities. Now everyone is happily dancing with the fantasies of life, yet screaming in their lonely hours of how unfair life is.
The mortals have it easier, as for the rest with aptitudes hidden in society? A suicide note is what lies after their fears of losing that dream, or a bullet through their head from assassins who work for the government to get rid of them.
Taehyung once had many suicidal moments like those, but not writing notes to anyone in particular - since he didn't have anyone, but to himself.
For letting himself down.
The pressures being too much.
Tired of being a puppet to society, and not embracing who he truly was.
He had many letters written just like that, but he's still here - not by choice. Orchids never really made that a choice for him, and Jungkook was the shift in making it all better.
Returning to this city only feels as though those memories were young, and not sixteen years that have gone by missing in the wind. Everything is the same, aside from a few new buildings and the happier ambient than how sullen the world used to rotate.
Maybe Jungkook was right to some extent: You miss being in this environment after a while, and Taehyung perhaps did.
However, this visit wasn't meant for being a tourist and breathing in how life is now. Taehyung came with a mission to do, and that mission involving his son.
And an old friend.
That's why he's resting here in Seoul Forest Park, sitting on a bench as he watches over the Hangang river, breathing in the calmness of the view as he waits. He can hear the sounds of the city in the far background, but he preferred embracing this moment alone- seeming to feel like he just paused through time when things weren't so bad.
Back when he was in Orchids, him and Jungkook would find themselves sitting here and envision life through their glossy eyes. They'd share a cigarette, murmuring into the air the desires of an ideal world - a life where they could be happy.
"It'd be nice to stretch out my wings every once in a while," Taehyung remembered Jungkook saying, letting the smoke oozing his lips twirl in the air, "Imagine in public? Those regulars won't know how to even react."
"To them we're a myth, nonexistent," Taehyung ventured back, taking the cigarette from Jungkook's hand, "If only they knew, maybe life would be peaceful."
"Or a complete disaster."
Twitching a small grin to the memory blazing through his eyes, Taehyung now recalls leaving Jungkook to homeschool the kids, saying he's leaving for a walk and watch the premises - which technically wasn't a lie.
He just ventured far outer than what Jungkook would think.
After all, Jungkook would hate this idea more than anything if Taheyung brought it up.
A presence suddenly found itself beside Taehyung, snapping him to the present, sitting silently a distance away while also embracing the view. The silence shivered Karma to co-conscious, but Taehyung remained still, going directly for point.
He doesn't have much time either way, it wouldn't take long for Jungkook to send a few birds to find his husband the longer he stays out, so this has to be quick.
Thankfully for him, he wasn't the only one eager to talk.
"You know, I never expected for our next encounter to be with Eden coming to me in a nightmare, demanding for my presence," His voice is as clear and bold as Taehyung remembers it, "But then again I assumed if it was him then it's not just to sit down and catch up."
Kim Seokjin, a man of nobility for his empire.
But his trust for his friend being far greater to betray that oath, well, for a specific friend.
Taehyung made no move to look at him, knowing better than in doing so, "As much as I'd like to know how you're doing and how life is here, I did come for your help."
"That I don't doubt," The snipping sound of a lighter twinkled Taehyung's ear, followed by the smell of thick nicotine, "But I don't want to hear from you right now."
Abruptly Taehyung's consciousness was sunk down, deep in the darkness of his mind, instead bringing out the person who's not going to be beating around the bush for information.
The only one who Seokjin would talk to.
"I really do like speaking with Taehyung, don't get me wrong, but I'm on a ticking hour and so is he, so get to the point. Besides, you're nicer."
Slowly looking around with vivid green eyes, Valencia slowly takes in her surroundings and fully gathered that she's here now meeting Seokjin. However, judging by how frozen her body is, Seokjin is keeping her still for the sake of their cover.
Ability manipulation, Seokjin's specialty.
"Nice to hear from you after a long time," Valencia says quickly, softly even to having a familiar person around her, only flickering her eyes to her hands, frowning to how manly they look unlike how it does in inner space, "My son Yeosang as you know has radiation abilities. You did warn me in the past that it could develop dangerously if he couldn't control it, and that's what's going on right now."
Seokjin clearly is smoking on his cigarette, but he's listening, so Valencia continues, "We want to get out the woods and live abroad. For that, we need Yeosang's abilities to be at a low spectrum. He has random bursts here and there, by accident, and I know you can adjust abilities easily-"
"In two days, we'll meet here and bring a vial of Yeosang's blood, one will do," Seokjins instructs calmly, "We'll meet again five days from there, and I'll have an antidote for you to use on him that'll replace these abilities. I can't cure him, but I can use his cells to mold another ability as replacement. Since he's traced with radiation, maybe manipulate fire or something. Easier to control or tame."
Suddenly the sound of Seokjin standing up perked Valencia's ear, also by hearing him sigh, "I want to exchange this with you alone, make sure the rest know. We'll see each other soon."
And just like that, Seokjin walks away.
Valencia didn't move, and she knew better than to quiver a longer conversation out of him. Seokjin is a business type of person, and he only ever truly felt comfortable around Valencia than any of Taehyung's other alters. Tigresa would say he definitely caught feelings for her during their time together in Orchids, and after this encounter perhaps he still does.
But none of that matters.
Maybe once, she did have feelings too, and perhaps before they used to embrace it a lot more, but when she met Jungkook that all changed.
Just like Taehyung, she fell in love with him too.
They all did, and they remain loyal to that.
Now, Valencia has a husband and kids to go back to.
Now feeling the freedom to move, Valencia checks the time on her watch and gets to her feet, walking the opposite direction that Seokjin stormed off to. Valencia didn't like being in the city, or here in general. She genuinely enjoyed being in the forest with her family, like living in their own bubble together - where no one would hurt or find them.
That's how she likes - peaceful, unity, and tranquility.
So, making sure to block off specifically Taehyung and Karma - who do have nostalgic triggers with this city - Valencia only goes to a secure location in the park and lets the ground swallow her up to bring her back to her family.
Meanwhile to the other side of the city, deep in the woods and within the mountains to the familiar cottage is Jungkook - gathering up all the supplies he uses to teach his kids basic subjects in school as their session finishes up. Now Yeosang goes off to hunt for food while Hwanwoong accompanies him, hoping to bring something good tonight.
Once all the supplies were neatly put away, Jungkook ended up finding himself looking out the window; The sun is cascading in a distance, grazing the meadow of grass like gentle fingertips, along with the river stream that oozed beside it of crystalline gems glistening to the sky.
Moments like these are where Jungkook truly doesn't regret all the decision he has made in his life to get here, in this moment, where he feels at peace. After always being so unstable with reoccurring things happening, now it's as though life was still.
And it's nice.
The only downside is the isolation that their kids are going through.
Unable to live a normal life. Even though they do have their moments where they hate being here, they do like it.
It's their home after all.
Moving from the cottage to stepping out to the porch, Jungkook breathes in this moment more calmly - not remembering a time where he'd ever expect to see himself in a place like this, since he was always a city person due to his job, so he never thought he'd see himself here, in a place Lisa dreamed of being once their contract was up.
To give a good life for Yeosang - away from danger.
A chance to start over.
Hope she can see from the stars, and be proud of Jungkook now for how far he came.
That was her dying wish - to see him and her son live a happy life.
Kneading a smile that stopped mid track, Jungkook then realized that Taehyung has been gone for a while now. They usually take turns when it comes to specific tasks on doing, such as being guard or checking the area, in that way they can be good at everything when one isn't around.
But the fact that he's been gone for a while did nudge Jungkook's paranoia, intrusively thinking he got caught or something happened. Then again, Taehyung is a powerful being - nothing can bring him down easily if something did happen.
But what if...
What if...
The worry stretched Jungkook's senses, and he quickly calls for the two falcons on the top of the tree beside the cottage. He ordered one of them to look for Taehyung, and the other to watch his kids. They did so without hesitation, but then a shuffle from the trees snapped Jungkook's attention - immediately putting himself on guard.
Up until Taehyung emerged from the bushes, a grazed smile on his lips to seeing Jungkook worry about him. Upon seeing his face, Jungkook physically relaxed, now glaring at his husband while signaling the falcons to look after his kids instead.
"You took a while."
"Perhaps I went to venture more into the forest," Taehyung is walking towards him now, a careless smile on his face as he stands before him, taking him by the waist against his body, "Missed me? How was classes?"
Jungkook slowly eyed his arm around his waist and shifting his gaze back to Taehyung, right before his wing nudged it off him before returning back as a tattoo on his back. Taehyung smirks now, just as Jungkook turns around to go into the cottage.
Taehyung silently follows after him, sealing the door with a wall of stone - along with the windows, or any possibly opening. When they got into the bedroom and the door was sealed shut, Jungkook was on him in seconds with his stiff hand on his neck and lips smothering over his.
They rarely have a moment to be alone, or get sexual, since the kids are just.... Always around.
Now they're a little preoccupied.
Taehyung chuckles through the kiss, slithering his hands to Jungkook's jaw and forces him close, whining quietly when he felt Jungkook's fingers graze his skin from under his shirt before he yanked it off his body - maybe ripping it off. It's not a surprise for Jungkook to get a little aggressive, especially when Taehyung feeds into his needs.
That's the thing with Jungkook though, he's obsessed with Taehyung's body.
That's what initially started their affairs.
He craved for his honey-colored skin, especially how it glowed in sweat when he would get physical. Something about how smooth and tender his skin feels on his hands always riled him up, almost as though as he's drugged by it. He loves how his skin feels between his teeth when he craves him, his scent, the beauty of Taehyung he's marveled by.
Jungkook loved his silhouette, how he can make Taehyung submit so easily, but also be begging to be dominated over too. It's a mixture of being masculine and feminine at once, and Jungkook loves the duality. Whenever they get sexual, it's always difficult to tell how it'll end up, since they both love submitting and dominating over each other, that's the thrill of it.
He's obsessed with Taehyung's lips, pouty and the type to never be able to stop kissing once you start because of how good he knows how to move his mouth. Lips that would leave anyone breathless, tingling with numbness on their own lips without a clue that they were enchanted by a spell of desire.
He's obsessed with his eyes, since they can never seem to suppress any emotions around Jungkook. Whether it's joy, lust, sadness, or rage - Jungkook loved his messages behind those wide orbs. Especially when he gets needy and desperate for attention.
Jungkook is simply obsessed with Kim Taehyung, just as much as he's in love with him.
"Jungkook," Taehyung whines when his husband nibbles his neck, forcing him to roll his eyes back, "We don't have much time before the kids-"
Abruptly thrown to the bed and pants off his body, Jungkook glided his tongue on Taehyung's spine, all the way up to reach his neck and back to his lips, restraining his wrists down on the bed to prevent him from getting up.
"Shut up and let me fuck you."
Taehyung moans a little too loudly against his mouth, just as he felt Jungkook's smooth hand running up his ass in a soft yet firm caress, knowing they don't have much time, right before a familiar stinging pain daggers right on Taehyung's anus, pushing all the way through the rim inside him. Taehyung closes his eyes as his lips falls from Jungkook and to the pillow, gripping tightly onto it with the thick scent of Jungkook's skin engraved to it as he moans against it.
Something about the pressure, the rush, and the fact that they don't have a lot of time makes this feel even more exciting. Almost like when they'd sneak off to fuck during their time in Orchids, to which they did one time in Boss's office. They had to do that quick before he finished his meeting, so that anticipating was probably what made the sex so hot and heated by the time they finished.
Now is no different, and Taehyung was loving it.
Jungkook's arms wraps around his body possessively, thrusting into him so hard and almost animalistic, easing back to look over Taehyung's spine, and yanks him back to his thrusts.
Arching his back, Taehyung tilted his head back from the pillow, and Jungkook got the message to snag his hair and grip it forcefully.
Legs trembling, breath cutting short, moans and screams instrumenting through the air, Jungkook collasped on Taehyung as he felt the orgasm forcing through his body and cummed in him with a quivering moan. Taehyung didn't take long to cum a few moments after, collapsing onto the bed sluggishly with eyes closed.
It's been a while that they were ever this sexual, so you could say this definitely eased a lot of built-up tension.
It was definitely needed.
"Don't get too cozy," Taehyung muttered to him, eyes closed as he gathers himself together, "Karma or Eden will want a round."
"As if that's ever a problem."
Taehyung twinkles a grin, peering an eye over Jungkook to see him staring at the small glass opening of the ceiling in a daze. Karma leaps into gear and immediately grabs his jaw and clammed their lips together, keeping it there firmly before pulling away.
Jungkook seemed taken back for a moment by the sudden affection, but then snickers upon recognizing Karma's familiar expression staring right back at him, "Hey, let me catch myself together first-"
"That use to never be a problem before -"
"DAD! WHY ARE THE DOORS SEALED!"
You've got to be joking.
Eden shifts automatically, twitches an eye and sneers a glare to the walls of the bedroom, "CAN'T YOU BRATS DO SOMETHING ELSE WITH YOUR TIME!"
Jungkook eyes widen, placing a hand on Eden's shoulder, "Hey! Fix your attitude -"
"CAN'T YOU GUYS FUCK SOMEWHERE ELSE INSTEAD?!"
Why is Jungkook not even surprised anymore?
So, you see, or can tell already, Yeosang has been far too exposed to Eden just as much as he has been to Taehyung and Tigresa while growing up. Yeosang is just a big trigger for Eden, who knows why, and you could say Yeosang has developed a bit of his way of speaking or attitude because of how Eden talks to him.
He isn't like that to the other alters, just Eden.
That's why Jungkook only rolls his eyes as he lays back on the bed, just as Eden huffs smoke out of his lips, "I swear, that brat if going to make me burn him alive one of these days," He growls, just as he lowered the barriers so they could stop being annoying, "He has some balls trying to disrespect me too!"
"Wonder where he gets it from," Jungkook sarcastically huffs, looking at him, "Don't act as though you don't love him."
Eden mimicks him back, rolling his eyes when he hears Hwanwoong and Yeosang's voices in the kitchen - speaking too fucking loudly for his liking.
"Sure, love this family."
Jungkook frowns to the sour words, but relaxes when Eden managed to offer him a rare smile, showing maybe somewhere deep doing inside he meant it.
And perhaps he did.
