Yoongi sat next to Hoseok on the bench of the patio to the hospital. "Physical therapy is going well right?"

"It is." Hoseok hummed, basking in the sunlight.

"I still don't know how you remember every single detail of that car. It hit you." Yoongi nudged the younger. "I mean I'm glad they found him and caught him. But it sounds a little ridiculous don't you think?"

Hoseok sighed contemplating his life choices. "What time is it?"

"It's two twenty-six..." Yoongi said checking his phone.

"I'm not sure... Crazy things happen..." Hoseok muttered. "Maybe some things are best... Left in the dark..." There is no way he could tell Yoongi about the time loop. Yoongi is with him now and that's all that matters.

Yoongi moved to carefully rest his head on Hoseok's shoulder. "I still feel bad..." He muttered. "You're all bruised because of me."

"I'd rather be bruised because you're safe," Hoseok said with a smile, kissing the top of Yoongi's forehead.

"Yeah... I just don't like seeing you hurt..." Yoongi sighed. Staring into the youngers eyes.

Hoseok stared back. Yoongi's deep chocolate eyes, little flecks of lighter brown that almost looked like gold in the light. His eyes were dark enough that Hoseok sometimes struggled to see his pupil.

But not today...

Yoongi's eyes blown wide, his pupils dilated despite being in the sun. As if he was trying to take in every detail of Hoseok.

Hoseok was taking in every detail of him too. Yoongi looked perfect like he always did. He knew that part of the loop would never end. Because every day for the rest of his life, Yoongi would look perfect.

Every day for the rest of his life...

Rest of his life...

What if-

What if something happened to one of them again? What if Yoongi got into danger again and Hoseok wouldn't have the loop to make things right. To save him.

The loop was already his second chance if something were to ever happen again there is no fixing it.

"Hoseok?"

Then he would lose Yoongi again and he couldn't go through that. He could barely handle it the first time he lost Yoongi.

"HOSEOK!"

The calling shook Hoseok out of his thoughts, his eyes focused again as he looked at the smaller male beside him. Trailing his eyes down to see he was gripping the older's wrists harshly. "I-I'm so sorry."

Yoongi took Hoseok's hands back immediately. "No, no, don't apologize. Seok-ah why are you crying?"

The question caught the younger off guard. He hadn't even realized he was crying. Pulling away his hand to wipe the tears from his face. "I'm sorry." He repeated. "It's dumb."

Yoongi shook his head. Moving Hoseok's hand away from his face and wiping away the younger's tears himself. Pressing their foreheads together so their eyeliner could meet once more.

No words were exchanged.

Yoongi was never a vocal person, he always had small little gestures. Always reaching out to hold people's hands or subtly holding onto their back. Leaning a little closer when he felt like it.

Hoseok just knew Yoongi was telling him in his own way. 'Just look at me, I'm right here. Everything's going to be alright.'

"I love you..." Hoseok whispered quietly.

Yoongi smiled back. "I love you too." He hummed.

Silence enveloped them once more. Until Hoseok could hear Yoongi's soft humming. The same tune he always played on guitar during the loop. The song he would write every day in that music room and never let Hoseok listen to.

Yet, when Yoongi began to softly sing the lyrics, he knew every word.

"Merrily we fall...Out of line, out of line. I'd fall anywhere with you, I'm by your side." Yoongi said, voice most likely quiet enough to not be heard over the wind. Yet to Hoseok, it was the only thing in the world he could hear. "Swinging in the rain...Humming mel-o-di-es" Yoongi drew out the last word in a rhythmic pattern that Hoseok could see him playing on the guitar. "We're not going anywhere until we freeze"

Hoseok couldn't help but smile as he sang the next lyric. "I'm not afraid, anymore... I'm not afraid."

Yoongi stopped and looked up at Hoseok. "How do you know the lyrics I've never shown it to you before?" He asked.

"You haven't... But in a way you have... It's like is a part of my heart... I can't explain it." Hoseok said with another soft exhale as Yoongi started humming again.

Both singing the next part together. Emotions heavy and weighted with the words as if they were vows to each other. "Forever is a long time...But I wouldn't mind spending it by your side."

"Carefully we'll place for our destiny. You came and you took this heart and set it free." Yoongi sang a little louder as he gained confidence. Even swaying to the song a little.

"Every word you write or sing is so warm to me. So warm to me..." Hoseok said with a smile, even if it was the lyrics... It's something he meant, as a compliment to Yoongi and his passion. "I'm torn, I'm torn to be right where you are."

In a sense, he knew he had to sing that lyric. Because... He was right where Yoongi was. Hit by a car. Only, he survived. Torn in a way of happiness, peer joy that Yoongi was okay and it worked out. But torn in the way of feeling how much pain Yoongi went through, getting hit and bleeding out on the pavement.

"I'm not afraid, anymore... I'm not afraid." Hoseok repeated as he squeezed Yoongi's hands. Still promising that whatever the rest of their life had to throw them... He wasn't afraid because now he wasn't alone. He had Yoongi right beside him.

"Forever is a long time. But I wouldn't mind spending it by your side." They both joined back together for the chorus. Just like before, repeating it like a promise. A promise to always be there for each other. "Tell me every day I get to wake up to that smile. I wouldn't mind it at all. I wouldn't mind it at all."

"You so know me. Pinch me gently. I can hardly breathe..."  Yoongi sang softly, voice soft and low in a way Hoseok had never heard from him before. Usually, when Yoongi sang it was a little raspy, had more flow to each word instead of stressing each word by itself. It was truly beautiful.

"Forever is a long, long time. But I wouldn't mind spending it by your side. Tell me every day I get to wake up to that smile. I wouldn't mind it at all..." They both sang the last part. Smiling and joining their lips in a quick loving kiss.

"I wouldn't mind it at all..."

The song is called "I Wouldn't Mind" by He Is We. And it was the original inspiration for this book. I was having a mental breakdown and listening to it when I thought of this fic. I really wanted to test the boundaries of what "forever" could mean to people.
