IF YOU HAD told 12 year old Eleanora Hadley that five years from now that she couldn't even make through breakfast, lunch or dinner without falling asleep, or that something as simple as laughing would end up with her on the floor with a complete loss of her muscles,  she would've told you that there was no point to living anymore. 

YET HER CONDITION loomed over her in everything she did. But as was with incurable conditions, she just had to suck it up despite her having to fall asleep more than nine times a day. 

WITH HER OVERBEARING mother and the fleeting presence of her older brother every other month, Eleanora couldn't help but feel smothered. She still had a loving mother which is more than some people she could say, and although the halluciations scared her mother more than her at times, she couldn't help but wishing that she could make it through a normal school day without disrupting her own learning.

HOWEVER WHILE LIVING in Forks Washington such wishes would never be achieved. Small towns were always ripe with gossip and the Hadley family were no exception to the rule. Between her narcolepsy and her brother's aversion to responsibility, the students at Forks High School discussed them almost as much the Cullen family that drew attention everywhere they went. 

WITH THE ARRIVAL of a new girl into town the attention is off Eleanora for once. However, she wasn't expecting that it would include getting tangled in with a coven of vampires. But that was just the way her life always seemed to go.

author's note

this story contains a main character who has been diagnosed with a condition called narcolepsy which causes daytime sleepiness and sudden attacks of sleep. i don't personally suffer from this condition and am trying to represent this condition accurately. if at anytime you feel I'm not displaying the condition properly, please let me know in the comments or in a private message.
