Chapter 27: Who the enemy is
Tia's POV
I slowly stir from the land of dreams and my eyes flicker open to see the winter wonderland. My ears seemed to be clogged with snow, but I can hear muffled yells, urgent and very annoying. Trying to nestle back into Ridgedog, he suddenly stands up shakily and quickly. Shaking the snow from my ears, I hear Deamon, "You have one hour before they attack. You need to get everyone ready" he is saying to Ridge, his usual cheerful and cheeky expression stained with worry. Frowning, I rub my eyes. "What? What's going on?" I mumble, stretching and dislodging the large amount of snow on me.
"Seems like the Sky army is attacking us early. Go get everybody ready, tell them to stay hidden until I appear." Ridgedog snaps quickly, suddenly flying away. I don't get a goodbye hug or anything. I shake my head-for gods sake, Tia! There was a war ahead of you and you want him to stop and hug you? Sighing, I take off into the air, closely followed by Deamon. "Go tell Duncan, I don't want to face him, he was getting on my nerves last time." I order him. I smile smugly at him when he narrows his eyes-it felt good to order an army general around!
Flying towards Honeydew.inc, I quickly burst through the door, almost making Hannah have a heart attack. "Tia! How's it going?" she asks, smiling at me. "They're going to attack us in an hour from now. Get all your weapons and hide in the forest at the boundary line." I pant out quickly, watching her face go white and she calls instantly for Lewis and Simon. They come flying down soon after, Lewis looking concerned at his pale girlfriend's face. When she repeats my message, letting me catch my breath, the two heroes of Minecraftia gather their weapon, a diamond sword for Lewis, which he always had, and Simon got his diamond pick in one hand, a diamond shovel slotted on his back for digging holes, as well as a whole ton of tnt and redstone supplies to build tnt cannons.
"Tia?" Lewis suddenly asks, watching Hannah quietly as she takes an enchanted bow and loads it with arrows with owl feathers on the tips. "Yeah?" I ask, about to leave-I had to go warn everyone else, there was no time to waste! "Is Duncan right? About you dating Ridge?" he asks, and Simon and Hannah both turn to look at me. Awkwardly, I nod and brace myself for glares. Instead they all just nod understandingly. "Alright, just wanted to know that's all." he says quietly before departing, his best friend and girlfriend close on his heels.
Going over to Blackrock, I pause outside of Teeps' watch tower. It was empty, so I fly down into a potions room where Teep is, watching Rythian and Zoey. They are both kissing softly, her fingers intertwined with his. His mask was down, but her eyes were shut, shutting out the world around them. I pause and wait, raising my eyebrow at Teep who gives me the exact same look and we roll our eyes. When they are done, Rythian pulls his mask up. Tapping Zoey lightly on her cheek, her eyes open and she smiles widely at him. Coughing awkwardly, they both look at me, going as red as Zoey's hair. "Sorry to disturb you, but the attack is coming early. We all have an hour to prepare. Sorry to interrupt." I grin. "Alright. Thanks for the warning." Rythian says gruffly, brushing some of his hair out of his eye and smiling down at Zoey through his mask.
"Meet at the boundary line as soon as possible and try and stay hidden." I tell them before jetting out, meeting up with Deamon in the sky. "I've told everyone else. Let's go back to Ridge." he says and we fly quickly back towards the towering mansion. Ridgedog is rolling massive equipment out of his house with ease, all of it covered by blankets. "Jeez, where did all this come from?" I laugh lightly and he rolls his eyes. "I always come prepared" he grunts. "Help me move this up to the boundary." We all heave the equipment up to the forest. Already, Lewis, Simon, Hannah and Duncan are there. The only one who looks unfriendly is Duncan, who glowers at Ridgedog from a safe distance.
As we wait, the end of the hour draws closer and closer. Everyone was gathered in the forest, hiding. Most of them had huge weapons, like Duncan and Ridge. But some, like Rythian, only had small weapons that could potentially make all the difference. Soon, we could hear marching through the trees on the opposite side. Casting a glance round, I watch people's reactions.
Lewis and Hannah kiss gently, both of them holding hands and resting their heads on each other softly.
Rythian and Zoey kiss too, through his mask, Zoey beginning to cry even when Rythian wipes her tears away and comforts her.
Martyn and Toby sneak a quick kiss when they think no one is looking, both of them going red.
Sips and Sjin kiss too, not hiding it anymore, the two dirt traders kissing passionately.
Despite all the stares (and glares from Duncan's direction), I tug Ridgedog's head down and press my lips firmly to his. He kisses me back, soft and gentle at first, but he pushes in furiously as the marching gets louder. This could very well be our last kiss. Thinking that, I kiss him passionately, neither one of us letting go until we both need air, and even then we stay close, hugging tightly as the marching gets louder. "I love you." I whisper, softly brushing a bit of his hair back. He smiles softly at me. "I love you too." My hand goes to his. "Together till the end?" I say, almost questioning him. "Forever" he says, squeezing my hand tightly as the first of their soldiers enter the clearing, and we step forward to greet them in the snow covered battle field.
Liam's POV
"This is it then?" I ask. We had been sitting on the sofa for a while now, just cuddling together. There were ten minutes left till we went to the boundary line to fight the Yogscast. "Yeah. We're probably going to die, either by the Yogscast or Sky." he says plainly, resting his head on mine. "Do you think they are really going to kill us?" I ask quietly, beginning to get a little scared. He sighs and wraps his arm around me waist. "I really don't know who the enemy is anymore."
"I need to go talk to Jerome for a little while. Go wait at the boundary line for me." he says softly, brushing my hair back. "Mitch? I love you." I blurt out without thinking, going a little red. He turns to hug me again, pressing his lips to my neck gently. "I love you too." he whispers, before going downstairs to the basement.
Jerome's POV
It seems like an age since Mitch last came to visit, but when he does, his face is grave and serious. "I have to go to war soon. With the flying man who made you like this. He was the same guy who let me talk to you, though. He promised to protect us, but I'm not sure if he will..." he says, reaching out to stroke my fur, which feels nice. "I have 5 minutes till I have to go to battle...I better get going." he says after a while, leaving me all alone in this cold dark room once more.
Battle? My Mitch? Against the flying man? I couldn't allow that. Roaring furiously, I desparately try and break free of this insane prison of a body, a shell of the bacca I used to be. I begin to cry on the inside, depressed and angry. I wouldn't be able to say goodbye. He would just die and I wouldn't even be able to look at him with my own eyes again.
The feeling builds up inside of me and my fingers suddenly twitch.
