Chapter 25: Making the right decision

Liam's POV

"What do we do, Mitch?" I demand, crossing my arms impatiently. He had been pacing around on the carpet for a long, agonizing time now, not saying anything. "I'd rather be a proud, dead person than a weak minded living one. How could we live with ourselves if we see them die in front of us? They will be relying on us, and we'll betray them," he says bitterly, not looking up from the floor and not stopping his pacing. "But if we refuse to fight, they will lock us up and probably kill Jerome. And if we fight, we would die first for betraying THEM" I reply. Thinking about what I had said, I began to realize that there was only one option. Mitch knew it, too. He had just been delaying the truth.

"We may have to join the Yogscast"

Both of us lapse into silence. We couldn't. That was my only answer. We were loyal to Team Crafted! But after witnessing Sky's behaviour, the way he thought he could dispose of us with a click of his fingers into the cells..."We need to think what's best for Jerome, not ourselves." Mitch says finally, talking about Jerome as if he was our child. "Maybe we should ask him?" I suggest. He nods in agreement. "I'll go this time. You've been doing too much recently," he smiles, "Well done." Smiling proudly, I look away.

Fifteen minutes go by and he finally returns. His face is scarlet red. "Where is he?" I ask, peering round him. "Um, he'll be over when he's finished." he replies. "Finished what?" I ask, trying to hide a grin. "Yeah, let's change the subject shall we?" he mumbles, and I muffle a giggle into my hand. Twenty minutes go by, and Ridgedog finally flies in, his clothes perfect and his hair freshly combed, though his face is a little flushed. "What took you so long?" I ask innocently. He throws me an embarrassed look which makes me burst into laughter.

The two masters descend down the stairs and I lounge on the sofa. After ten minutes they come back upstairs, talking quietly about soldiers, defense systems and Jerome. When the door opens, Mitch smiles at me. "One of the demigods will be protecting Jerome. As for us, we can fight too. But they have given their word not to attack us so all we have to do is pretend to attack them, and they won't hurt us." Mitch says. "Anyway, I'm gonna go back to...my house." Ridgedog stutters, going a little red again. "S-sorry for coming over on such short notice." Mitch mumbles. "It's fine. How about we come visit you the day before you are due to attack us?" Ridge suggests, and Mitch nods. Quicker than the blink of an eye, he disappears.

"So you caught them at it then?" I grin at the blushing pvper. "I didn't see it, if that's what you are implying." he snaps. "So...?" I smirk. "I just heard them that's all. Now can we PLEASE change the subject." he groans and I burst into laughter, falling off the couch and clutching my already aching stomach. Mitch suddenly pounces on me angrily and my laughter fades as I bite my lip, grabbing his shirt and yanking his mouth to mine, sliding my arm round his neck, moaning at the feeling. He pulls away, wrapping his arms around me and running up the stairs towards the bedroom. I grin up at him and he smirks down at me, kicking the door open violently.

Note: I WAS MADE TO DO THIS-LITERALLY HANDCUFFED TO THE CHAIR AND FORCED TO WRITE THIS I'M SORRY XD OK back to the story...*cough*

Tia's POV

After getting dressed into some different clothes- a white plain sleeveless shirt, aqua blue jeans, brown boots that matched Ridgedog's and a black cape that was tied loosely round my neck- I fly down into the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge. There was hardly anything to eat, and I sigh. Stretching back up, I almost jump out of my skin. Mexxy was lounging against the cabinets, watching me curiously.

"What are you doing here?" I snap, backing away and slamming the fridge door shut harder than I should have. "That's no way to address a King" he says coolly, stepping away from the cabinets. My eyes dart to the window to see Syncrasis watching the view through the balcony windows. "That doesn't answer my question" I almost snarl, trying to find the will within me to stay polite. "I just wanted to check on the two of you. It seems you managed to fix his insanity after all, hm?" he smiles warmly and I shiver. I stay silent. "You should be grateful that I let you off after you clawed my girlfriend's face." he says, his tone deadly. "You should be grateful I didn't kill her." I hiss back, eyes flickering suspiciously at both of them. Syncrasis turns to snarl at me. "Like you could ever dream of kill me, you little cow" I glower at her before wrinkling my nose at her like she smelt bad and turned away.

"I'm not even going to waste my breath talking to you, you heartless bitch." (BURN) I sigh, acting almost bored. "That's because you don't have much left!" she yells, leaping across the kitchen at me faster than my eyes can follow. Something flies in between us and shoves her away. Ridgedog lowers himself onto the ground, glaring wordlessly at her, shuffling me backwards. He blocks my view of Mexxy entirely, but I can still peek at Syncrasis to stick my tongue out at her daringly.

She huffs at me, and I grin. "Ah, if it isn't the great Ridgedog" Mexxy smirks, folding his arms across his chest. Ridgedog says nothing, just glares at them, his eyes darting between the pair. "Go away." I mumble from underneath Ridgedog's coat. To my surprise, Mexxy nods. "As you wish. There's no need to be rude when royalty walks right under your nose." he says with a wink, and, throwing one last smug glance at Ridge who glowers back angrily, he disappears with his Syncrasis.

Ridgedog relaxes when they go, sighing and going to prop himself up on the kitchen sideboard. Focusing, I manage to spawn a crown in that looks exactly like Mexxy's. He glances at me and smiles softly as I place the crown on his head. It suits him-it looks like it was made to fit on his head. "I love you, your Highness" I smile, bowing at him. He smiles at me, pulling me up from the bow and kissing me softly on my cheek. "I love you too." he replies, wrapping me up in his coat. "Now..." he begins.

"Where were we?"

Note: Ok, this is just a bit of...calm before the big war! So you won't have to wait much longer...
