Late Night Text

Drew an enderman boi up top :3)

____________

That whole encounter was a big surprise. A shock really.

You never expected to meet Endre's dad. Much less almost make eye contact with him.

And what Endre said, 'It runs in the family.'

Gosh- you could only assume it meant you were about to get pummeled into the ground.

A shiver wracked your body, and the almost done healing black eye gave a convenient jolt of pain. You remember how that felt.

Crossing your arms, you began to meander towards Wolf, who looked at you in a surprised manner.

Surely he saw what just happened.

You made eye contact with him, and he stared with a raised eyebrow.

He asked you what happened, and all you could do was shrug at him.

Turning your head from him, you looked forward into the sea of students.

"Come on- let's skat." Wolf threw his arm around your shoulder, marching you threw the halls and out of the building.

The bus was yet another short walk, and he released you as the both of you both single filed onto the bus. Wolf charged for the window seat- throwing himself into the cushions and taking up the whole seat.

Looking at him, you let off a smirk, charging down the aisle and throwing yourself at Wolf.

He let out a girlish scream waving his limbs at you as you landed atop him.

The giggling you both did was inevitable- and many strange looks were thrown towards you and Wolf- but it was fun regardless.

Finally settling down, you both looked at each other, before Wolf pushed you off of the side of the seat.

Again laughing, you glanced up at him, "You bitch- haha."

He laughed, finally conceding and getting up to let you onto the seat.

You both plopped down, settling into a comfortable atmosphere. It's nice to have someone to sit down with.

The rest of the bus ride was pleasantly chatted away. You still couldn't get over the small encounter in the hallway.

When you finally did get home, you walked through the doors, threw yourself up the steps and changed.

The faint memory of the note your mother left you was on your mind. 'Buy lunch meat'

You couldn't help but sigh at that. You really, really didn't want to go to the store, but who were you to deny what your mother wants you to do.

Wandering to your mother's room, you nabbed the money she left on the table before tromping back down the steps.

Near the front door was your jacket, which your slung over yourself before shoving your shoes on, giving them a tight tie and slipping out the door.

It was still misty out from this morning, a bit chilly to be honest. The walk to the store was a relatively long walk. Long enough that the chill settled through your jacket. Long enough for your hair to grow damp.

Finally reaching the convenience store, you ushered yourself through the automatic doors and started walking down to the cold aisle.

It wasn't that big of a store, so with a quick trot, you found the lunch meat, picking it up and hurrying to the checkout.

Too fast of a hurry, apparently, you crashed into a figure as you turned around a corner, stumbling backwards and abashedly jerking your head up to look at who it was.

Tall.

A tall, tall body.

And just like you did in the hall, your eyes flew up as far as the could, before two hands pressed against your face.

It wasn't nearly as gentle as the time before, rushed, as though surprised. The palms of his hands were roughly pressed against your cheekbones, thumbs unevenly touching the brows of your eyes.

Static shot down your back, and you could almost feel the hair on your neck rising.

From the jet black pants, and grey jacket, you could surmise who it was.

You both remained still, unsure, and almost a bit frightened.

"I didn't expect to see you here." Was the first thing you said.

He flinched, smoothly sliding his hands off you face as he replied, "As did I."

You looked at his torso for a bit longer, before unsurely maneuvering around him. His awkward energy, mixed with yours made you undeniably anxious. However nice he was you couldn't help but feel that way.

Walking your separate ways, you made it to the checkout and placed the lunch meat on the table. Pleasantries with the cashier were exchanged, before you awkwardly waited for the clerk to give you the total.

A quick slap of money, and you meandered your way to the exit, plastic bag in hand.

Squinting at the misty atmosphere, you paused to recollect yourself. It was chilly, and you honestly didn't feel like walking out so soon.

A body lumbered up next to you, the long torso of Endre pausing in the corner of your eye.

"Walking home I assume?"

You nodded, "Yee."

The both of you took a moment to just stare at the fog.

Silence.

"Which direction you go in?"

Humming, you resisted the urge to scratch your head, instead shrugging, "Uuuh- I don't really know the street names. I just know I take a shortcut past a park."

"Oh. Nice." Endre mumbled, "Same."

Him saying that made you wonder just how long he was here at this store, as you didn't see him on the walk over, but you didn't voice your question.

"Wanna walk together?"

Turning to look at his torso fully, you eyed how tense he looked. Nervous, clearly. But by what? You had no clue.

You gave a simple shrug, "Sure- I could use the company."

He didn't say anything after that, simply looking out the doors as if too tired to actually make the first step out. The both of you appeared to be at an impasse.

No one person wanted to take the gander of getting misted, and honestly? You just felt like sitting down and relaxing.

Sighing, you took the first step. The first push forward into the view of the doors sensors.

A whoosh of damp and cold air brushed you, and the footsteps of Endre followed along as you lumbered out onto the sidewalk.

It was strange walking with him. Just as the last time you noticed him taking smaller steps to keep in line with you. Considerate.

Smiling a bit at that, you looked forward, ambling down the sidewalk with a friend was a nice thought

It was a bit awkward, as you didn't have anything to say to him, but you sucked it up and kept walking forward as confidently as you could. Which, admittedly, wasn't that confident.

Endre taking tiny steps wasn't all that comforting- you knew he could outpace you, yet he didn't for common decency. Made you feel like you had to walk faster then normal.

The whole walk was like that. Agonizingly awkward, and weird, and yet every time you bumped shoulders you swore to god and back that butterflies flew up your throat.

It was nerve wracking in all the most god awful ways, and when you finally did reach home, you couldn't have been more relieved.

He did his awkward goodbye, mumbling out a see ya, before lingering just long enough to place a hand on your head and ruffle your hair.

Just as on that walk, you swore up and down in your head, watching his back as he trotted off down the road.

Your cheeks felt pleasantly warm against the damp outside air, and after that whole and utter fiasco- you ran inside, threw the lunch meat in the fridge, and then threw yourself on the couch.

You didn't have time to act like this- you only had time to do the remaining homework you had. Which you did. After a few hours. In which none of the homework you did dissuaded your thoughts from roaming to previous events including a certain 'punch you in the face' boy.

With nothing else to do, and positively desperate to stop acting like a middle schooler, you chucked your sack of potatoes self into bed, covering and wrapping yourself in your blankets as much as you could.

And honestly?

It did work for a bit.

You drifted off into a blank sleep for a little over five hours, shifting a bit restlessly. Waking up, before falling asleep for just long enough to forget you had even been awake.

It wasn't until two in the morning that you finally couldn't force yourself to stay down.

Your strained eyes parted, blinking lethargically before closing again. Your whole body felt weighed into your bed, legs tangled in blankets and one arm dead under your chest. Your face felt heavy with the grog of waking up, as did every other piece of you.

The deathly still quiet of your room didn't help that, as did the deep darkness accompanying.

The phone that was laying on your floor was testimony to your previously erratic thoughts, left laying there haphazardly.

You stretched an arm out of bed the best you could, struggling to grab it before retreating into your sheets.

A tap to the power button reminded you that you had it turned off again, and you groaned out of frustration before holding the button and laying it flat down on the sheets while you waited.

Just laying there was agonizing, as all the flurried and frenzies thoughts that accompanied you through yesterday made way into your mind like a putrid fizzle of acid.

The static- the touches- the almost sickeningly sweet awkward atmosphere.

All of it consumed your mind.

The hands on your face, brushing down the slope of your nose, tinting heat along your skin with every touch.

Oh god.

The time his chest hovered behind you, arms reaching past you, fingers being the only thing between you and a straight up punch to the face.

He was a friend, an awkward one.

One that honestly just made static chase over your skin.

One that made every hair on your body stand on alert.

One that made you strangely flustered- strangely just a little bit more reclusive.

Oh god.

This was middle school all over again.

Aaa.....- you were so utterly disappointed with yourself.

Yet so utterly flustered at the same time.

With a breath, a huff, and a very annoying ringtone away, you jumped from your thoughts.

A song, although very quiet, alerted you to a call.

And when you lifted your phones off the cover, you couldn't be more surprised.

There, in a little icon in the center of your screen was the name,

'PRO GOD'

Only one person could have a caller name like that.
