"Hey, babe!"

Rainbow looked up from the book she was reading. The mental movie in her head paused. That was Applejack. Rainbow sighed and sat up on the bed. She swung her feet off the edge, marking her spot with a bookmark. She got up and walked out of the room. She walked down the hall and downstairs. She went into the living room to see Applejack sitting on the couch, the remote control in her hand.

"Yeah?"

Applejack looked at her and smiled. She motioned for her to come over to her. Rainbow walked up to Applejack. Applejack wrapped an arm around her slim waist and had her sit on her lap. She pecked her on the lips. She smiled at Rainbow.

"Look at the tv." She said.

Rainbow turned her head and looked at the flat screen tv they had on the wall. The weather channel was on. Rainbow looked around the screen at all the words and pictures. One word in particular caught her attention. Rainbow gasped in excitement.

"Snow!!"

Rainbow looked at Applejack with new found energy and a bright smile.

"It's gonna snow??"

Applejack nodded.

"It should be snowing tonight." She stared. "The first snowfall of the year. You excited?"

Rainbow nodded enthusiastically. She shot up to her feet.

"Yes!" She cheered.

Rainbow fist pumped the air. Applejack watched in amusement. Rainbow sat down beside her on the couch.

"This week just got a whole lot better."

Applejack giggled.

"Then you better be ready ta shovel if we gotta."

Rainbow shrugged, leaning back on the couch, hands behind her head.

"No biggie. I like shoveling."

"No way am I shoveling all that by myself!!"

Rainbow stared with wide eyes and a slacked jaw at the seven inches of snow that blanketed their yard and driveway. She looked at Applejack who was standing beside her, holding a snow shovel, a hand on her hip. Applejack rolled her eyes.

"You won't be doing it alone. We'll do it together."

Rainbow Dash sighed, planting the shovel in the snow, holding on loosely to the handle.

"Fine. Let's get this over with."

Applejack had an idea. She smirked and nudged Rainbow.

"Race ya."

Rainbow smiled at the idea. She picked up the shovel with both hands.

"You're on."

The two started at the end of the driveway and shoveled like crazy. They shoveled tirelessly down the driveway, going around Applejack's truck. The snow was dumped onto the sides, the girls racing to get to the end first. Rainbow and Applejack were quiet for nearly the whole time they shoveled.

Rainbow won in the end. However, she was too tired and cold to celebrate. Her fingers were a weird pink color and her lips were a faint purple color. Applejack could hardly move her fingers, her joint in pain from the bitter cold. That was the sign to get inside. Rainbow whined. She wanted to play in the snow. Applejack rolled her eyed at how childish Rainbow was being.

"We'll come back outside in an hour. Promise. Now, c'mon. Ah wanna warm up before we come back out."

Rainbow complied and put down the shovel and followed her inside. The two warmed up, having some lunch and within an hour were back outside. Rainbow was very content with standing in their front yard, the snow up to her shins. The cold air bit at her cheeks, but it made a rush of excitement flow through her. She looked over her shoulder at Applejack, who was standing on the porch, arms crossed and a smile on her face.

"Go on." Applejack said. "Go play. Ah'll join ya in a few minutes."

Rainbow didn't need any further instructions. She was running out of the middle of the large snow-covered yard. Rainbow stood there for a moment, deciding what to do first. She then flopped back onto the snow. She sunk in a bit, bits of snow touching her wrists, having gotten into her jacket sleeves through an opening. Rainbow moved her arms and legs up and down, making a snow angel. She stared up at the cloudy sky. When she stood up and looked at her work, she saw a pretty decent snow angel. Rainbow got down on her knees. She began to pile the snow back in to fill the hole she'd made.

The snow gloves she was wearing were heavy duty. She didn't feel a bit cold as she packed in the snow. Once at that somewhat achieved, Rainbow looked over her shoulder. She didn't see Applejack on the porch anymore. Rainbow frowned.

"Applejack?" She called.

Suddenly she was grabbed. Rainbow screamed. She was picked up, arms around her waist. Rainbow struggled for a second, whoever it was having frightened her. Rainbow wiggled out of be person's grasp. She turned around to see Applejack standing there, laughing.

Rainbow huffed, not finding it funny.

"Oh my goodness, Applejack. Don't do that."

Applejack fake pouted.

"Did ah scare you, baby?"

Rainbow rolled her eyes, not making eye contact with her girlfriend.

"No. You didn't. But still. You snuck up on me. Don't do that. I thought you were  a kidnapper or something."

Applejack smiled and wrapped her arms around Rainbow's waist.

"Ok. Ah won't do it again. Promise."

She pressed her lips to Rainbow's forehead. Rainbow blushed at the show of affection. She smiled, leaning more into Applejack. She liked it when Applejack did things like this. She found it romantic and Rainbow felt loved. Rainbow lightly gripped Applejack's jacket in her hands. Applejack pulled away. She looked into Rainbow's eyes, smirking.

She took Rainbow by surprised when she suddenly scooped Rainbow up in her arms. Rainbow squeaked. She clung to Applejack.

Applejack giggled.

"Relax. Ah gotcha." She said.

Applejack carried Rainbow Dash over to the side of the yard. She started to spin, Rainbow giggled and hold on tighter.

"Applejack. Stop." She laughed. "You're gonna get dizzy and drop me."

Applejack stopped. She smirked. Suddenly dropped to her knees in the snow and let Rainbow go. Rainbow screamed as she fell into the cold snow. She froze in shock. Applejack smirked at her. Rainbow smirked back.

"You're so gonna get it." She said, sitting up. She tackled Applejack to the ground. Applejack laughed and rolled them over so they were switched. Rainbow was pinned to the snow by her arms. Applejack quickly day on her waist so she couldn't get up. Rainbow whined.

"No fair. You have super strength powers."

"Nah. You're just weaker." Applejack teased.

Rainbow Dash took a fist full of snow and threw it in Applejack's face. Applejack gasped, leaning back. She let go of Rainbow Dash to wipe the snow from her face.

"Rainbow!"

Rainbow grinned, happy with herself. Applejack looked down at her. She nodded slowly.

"Ok. I see how it's gonna be, RD."

Applejack grabbed a bunch of snow. But before she complete her payback, she was pushed off of Rainbow. Rainbow got up and ran. Applejack watched her for a split second, before getting up, calling after her. She chased after Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow giggled, running through the snow. There was no way Applejack could catch her. Her super power was speed after all. She was a natural runner. Applejack had the arm muscles, she had the leg muscles.

Rainbow didn't see the rock buried under the snow. Rainbow felt her foot get caught on something.

"Woah!"

She face-planted into the snow. Rainbow could've sworn her heart stopped for a split second. Rainbow looked up. She felt a hand in her arm, lifting her up. Rainbow got to her feet and looked up. Applejack stood there, a worried expression on her face.

"You okay, babe?"

Rainbow smiled and nodded, brushing the snow off the front of her coat and pants.

"Yeah. I'm okay."

Applejack nodded in response and then suddenly grabbed Rainbow from around the waist. Rainbow giggled.

"You cheated!" She exclaimed, realizing she'd been tricked.

Applejack spun around in circles. She then finally put Rainbow Dash down. Rainbow smiled at her. She noticed something. Looking around, she realized it was snowing.

"It's snowing." She stated.

Applejack looked around.

"You're right. Didn't think it'd snow again today."

Applejack and Rainbow looked at each other. Snowflakes fell gently on them, flaking their hair and face. Applejack couldn't hold back. She gently kissed Rainbow's cheek, making Rainbow Dash blush. She couldn't tell if she was blushing or if it was the cold. Rainbow smiled.

Applejack pulled her close by the waist, holding her captive. She nuzzled Rainbow's cheek, planting small kisses on her cheek and jaw, making a path to her lips. Rainbow couldn't seem to speak. Her voice was stuck in her throat.
She could feel her face heating up. She looked in Applejack's eyes, those eyes entrancing her. She leaned in, closing her eyes, Applejack doing the same. Their lips met in a kiss, sparks shooting through their body. Rainbow wrapped her arms around Applejack's neck, deepening the kiss, not wanting to stop just yet. The world around them disappeared, nothing but just them.

Finally, pulling apart, they looked into each other's eyes.

"Ah love you, Rainbow." Applejack said, "And ah'm so glad n' thankful ah get ta spend these kinds of days with you."

Rainbow kissed her on her cold, freckled cheek.

"I love you too, Applejack."

"You wanna head inside?" Applejack suggested. "We can stay by the fireplace and watch tv....... or maybe do a little this."

She pressed her lips against Rainbow's. Rainbow smiled, kissing back. The kiss deepened, Applejack gently biting Rainbow's bottom lip. They pulled away and looked at each other. Rainbow smiled.

"I think that's a good idea, AJ." She said.

She pecked Applejack's lips before pulling away. Applejack pulled her back in, making Rainbow laugh.

"Applejack...... we can do this...... inside..... it's warmer there.... and.... we can relax.... on the couch..... c'mon." She said between kisses.

Rainbow put a hand between their lips. Applejack chuckled.

"Fine. Sorry. Ah just can't help mahself. Ah could spend all day kissin' you."

Rainbow Dash smiled deviously.

"Maybe we can make that happen." She purred.

Rainbow took her hand and they walked up to the front door. Applejack pushed Rainbow inside, Rainbow laughing. Applejack was a very determined girl.

So yeah. Sorry for not updating for a few days. I haven't updated as much as I'd planned to. Let me know what you think of this chapter :)
