Applejack walked down the sidewalk, shielding herself from the cold wind. She never really liked the winter time. She was always shivering and uncomfortable.

"Stupid cold", she grumbled under her breath.

She walked into a cafe and bought herself a hot chocolate. Walking out she pulling on her warm hoodie.

She walked down the sidewalk. Suddenly she heard a sneeze. Turned around she saw a teenage girl. The girl was sitting against the side of the building, curled up. She had rainbow colored hair, her clothes were dirty. She had on a sweater but it wasn't enough for this weather.

Applejack figured out that she must be homeless. She walked over to her.

"Hey".

The girl looked up at her.

"Oh uh hi", the girls said.

Applejack smiled.

"Ah'm Applejack. What's your name??".

"Rainbow Dash. Why??".

"C'mon", Applejack said. "You wanna come to mah house??. Ah can help you".

Rainbow looked into her green eyes. She wasn't lying. Rainbow nodded. She got up. Applejack and her walked into her house. The house was warm.

"So how long have you been living out on the street??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow shrugged. "A week".

She and Applejack went into the kitchen.

"Take a seat. Ah'll make.some hot chocolate".

The blonde took off her jacket and put it on the chair. She got started on the chocolate. She made a cup. Giving it to Rainbow she smiled.

Rainbow thanked her quietly. She drank the warm beverage.

Applejack sat down. She looked at Rainbow.

"You like it?".
Rainbow nodded.

"It's great, thank you".

Applejack smiled. "You're welcome. Can ah ask ya somethin??".

Rainbow slowly nodded.

"What happened??".
Rainbow looked away. She sighed.

"My parents kicked me out. They didn't want a what they called a  faggot in their house".

Applejack frowned. "Well that's no way ta treat their daughter. So what if they like girls??. It shouldn't matter. Ah like girls".

Rainbow looked at her and smiled. "You do??".

Applejack nodded. "Yeah".

"Cool".

Applejack finished her drink.

"Ah'll run ya a bath. C'mon. Let's getcha warm".

Rainbow followed her through the small house. They went into a bedroom. Applejack got out some clothes.

"You don't have to do that", Rainbow said.

Applejack looked at her. "Ah know but ah want to".

Rainbow smiled. She was given a towel and some clothes. She was led to the bathroom. Applejack showed her how to work the shower. She gave Rainbow a toothbrush and toothpaste.

"Yell if ya need anything", she said walked out, closing the door.

Rainbow took a nice, warm shower. She washed her hair really well. She loved showers. Getting out she got dressed. The clothes fit well. She felt warm for the first time all week.
She dried her hair and brushed her teeth.

She got out and found Applejack.

"Thanks", she said. The blonde smiled at her.

"I'm glad you're smiling".

Rainbow laughed.

"Yeah. I haven't smiled all week. Haven't had anyone me nice to me so I didn't have a reason to".

Applejack walked over to her and pulled her in for a hug. Rainbow was shocked for a moment before she hugged back.

"This feels nice", she said smiling.

Applejack pulled away. "Can ah ask ya somethin'??".

Rainbow nodded.

"Why did you come here with me??. Ah mean, did you trust me??".

Rainbow shrugged. "I don't know. I just felt safe around you. You had that certain thing about you that just screamed 'hey I'm not gunna kill you and I actually want to help you' and I trusted you".

Applejack laughed. "Oh really??. Well ah guess I'm glad that it screams at you".

Rainbow laughed.

The two girls loomed at eachother. Applejack noticed the dark circles under her eyes.

"C'mon. Let getcha ta bed".

Rainbow raised an eyebrow. Applejack laughed.

"C'mon. Ah don't bite".

Rainbow followed her to her bedroom.

"I could just sleep on the floor", Rainbow said.

Applejack gave her 'no way' look.

"C'mon Rainbow. It won't be that bad".

Rainbow and her got into the bed and the lights turned out. The two laid down. Rainbow sighed.

"This is heaven. Don't make me move for another few years".

Applejack laughed. She looked at Rainbow.

"Well you're gunna be living here for a while".

Rainbow looked at her in surprise. "I am??".

Applejack nodded. "If you want".

Rainbow smiled. "I'll think about", she said.

AJ took that for an answer. Applejack was happy. Maybe the winter wasn't so bad after all. She made a new friend. And we all know what that leads so. But they don't, shhhh.
