Hours prior

Matt yawned, " Is anyone home?"

Haley had been so excited, she was bouncing off her chairs all day. He had to explain to their teachers that Jupiter was returning home for a quick break and wanted to spend some time with Haley.

He could hear voices upstairs, particularly in the area where Jupiter's room was located. He groaned. Unbelievable if they were doing what he thought they were doing.

Still after all these years. His heart broke a little every time she was around him.

But they weren't doing what he thought they were doing. They were fighting.

" Jupiter talk to me." Haley was begging.

His brother had stormed out of the room before he could even make it up the stairs.

" Hey man. I thought you were coming tonight?"

Jupiter froze for a second, " I'm going back to the campus. I just realized I forgot something."

" Jupiter Pluto. What is wrong with you? You don't get to fucking leave." Her voice was coldly even. She was done begging.

But he ignored her and continued to leave. And she followed.

" Hey what's up." He asked softly but she merely shook her head and pushed him aside.

" Jupiter, Haley. Let's just all take a deep breath and go inside okay?"

No one expected Matt Pluto to be the calm one in situations like this. He was always somewhat of a wild child. But when tensions rose in the group, he was always the first to play peacekeeper. Even when Jupiter threatened to burn Haley's beloved diary and Haley retorted that she would break his fingers. Matt was there, stuck in the middle and in pain yes. But there never less.

" I don't wanna go inside. I want Jupiter to talk to me."

Something must have struck a nerve in Jupiter because he stopped trying to get into the car.

" Well, maybe I don't wanna talk? Maybe I'm just tired of you and this whole damn city? I'm breaking up with you," He enunciated loudly, " " Go ahead run into the arms of my brother and live happily ever after. God knows Matt's just itching to make a move. So go ahead little brother. Make. A. Move."

Silence. It was as if even the birds knew what was happening. Not even a breeze blew by.

Matt was stunned, but it only lasted a moment.

" What the hell Jupiter?" Matt stepped back in disgust.

He was disgusted but Haley. Haley was a meteor ready to destroy everything in its path.

" Okay, Jupiter. Have a nice life with Mindy." Her eyes flicked with anger.
