" I told him because he deserves to know." She replied stubbornly.

" Some things are better-kept secret." As soon as the words left his mouth. He regretted it.

" What? Like the college girl, you have downstairs. Was she better-kept secret? Oh wait no. Or was it me you kept secret over there?"

" It wasn't like that and you know it. You know it even if I could never say it." Jupiter ran his hands through his hair, already growing annoyed.

" What!" She demanded.

" Forgot it." He muttered and turned to leave.

" No, tell me. If you can tell me you cheated on me. I'm sure I can handle whatever you say."

" Haley Chen, I've always loved you and I won't stop." Oops.

Her eyes soften and she lowered her voice.
" You don't betray the people you love."

" I never did. Mindy was the distraction I needed from being away from here. When I came back and saw you. I realized you deserved someone better than me. You didn't deserve this long distance and I knew you couldn't handle it. I didn't want us to end up resenting each other because of the distance. Matt deserved you and he always had. I just made his job easier."

" Who asked you to? Relationships aren't easy. We both knew that walking in. Just because we hit a rough patch doesn't mean we immediately lie and break up."

For a minute he stared at her. Really seeing her for the first time. Finally he made a bad decision. One he knew he would regret in the next hour. But he didn't care.

He took her face in his hands and kissed her. It was desperate and passionate. She responded to him, kissing him back just as fiercely.

He pulled her even closer and that's went everything went to shit.

The door swung open and Matt and Mindy stepped in. Mindy wore a smile but underneath it, it was obvious she was hurt. Matt looked like someone had just kicked him in the face.

" Matt." Haley said breathlessly.

" Matt." Jupiter said slowly when he didn't respond to Haley.

Anger pooled into his eyes, making them seem like the color of jet fuel, he was shaking.

" If I see any of your faces again. I won't hesitate to take out my brother or my best friend." His voice was low and dangerous.

Haley tried to stop him before he went down the stairs.

" I mean it Haley. I saw how you were after he told you about her. How could you hate me so much?" His voice was broken and Haley stepped back.

" All I've ever done for the past months was to become the girl you've always wanted. But I'm not her and I never will be her because she's standing right in front of you." Mindy said slowly.

" Mindy." He started but a quick glare from her made him shrink back.

" I would have understood if you told me you weren't over her yet. But you don't drag people into your messes because you don't want to be alone. And right now, you two? Have destroyed more hearts than this household combine. I hope you guys are fucking happy together because who cares about the rest of us right? We're just the minor characters to the Jupiter and Haley's show."

Mindy turned to leave but stop herself,
" It wasn't written in the stars that you guys would love each other, it was written in the stars that Jupiter and Haley were destined to burn everyone else."

Mindy was right. They were not celestial bodies destined to meet. They were meteors destine to decimate everyone they touch.
