The party was surprisingly quiet. It hosted no more than forty people. There were people standing in small groups or relaxing on the coaches. He was surprised he thought he would walk into a cramped room of a hundred, half intoxicated and the other half screaming. Just like he did his first week. His roommate Peter had assured him that it was just a small get together with friends. But who invites a hundred of their closest friends in a cramped apartment?

" Want something to drink?" Mindy closed the door behind them.

" Yeah. I-"

She cut him off, " Wrong answer, I'm the older person in this friendship and hell if I'm going to give an eighteen-year-old discounted beer. I'll get you a sprite." She broke off to the kitchen.

" You're nineteen." He reminded her in which she turned around and stuck her tongue out.

Jupiter stumbled around the house until he found an empty seat. He had been contemplating replying to Haley's text when two other guys invited themselves into his bubble. His very private and small personal bubble that he didn't let anyone in. Aside from Haley and his family.

" So you're the guy who's been following Mindy around like a lost puppy." The first guy with spiked hair and large muscles said. His tone was light and he had a large goofy smile on.

The second guy with dyed green hair snickered. " I'm surprised she brought you here. She usually doesn't bring any guys around us unless she's serious. So how long have you guys been together?"

" Well the thing is-"

Spike guy cut him off, " Freddie, you can't just ask him that. If Mindy hasn't even mentioned him, she probably just wants something lowkey."

The guy now known as Freddie sighed. Not the usual sigh of a nineteen-year-old with green hair, no. He sighed like it was one of the last sighs anyone would ever experience on the face of the earth. Extremely dramatic.

" Harry here's something about straight relationships. THEY'RE DIFFICULT AND CONFUSING. They aren't like you and Jerry. Straight relationships are like asking a bird to walk up a tree....with one leg tied around the other...blindfolded."

" I know I haven't dated a girl in a while. But even I know that is not correct."

" Keep talking and you'll scare off the freshman." Mindy snorted. She handed Jupiter a can.

" Mindy!!" The guys greeted her.

" You know you can tell them. They won't bite. Unless you're sitting at the dinner table and you grab the last piece of sweet potato. But other than that, they're harmless."

" Well, actually I have a girlfriend back home." It felt odd to say that. He hasn't seen Haley in months and hasn't spoken to her in days. Were they on a break?

" Aww, shame. You guys would make a good looking couple."

Mindy blushed, " Don't say stuff like that. You are making Jupiter feel uncomfortable like he said, he has a nice girl back home."

" I don't think it's him that's uncomfortable." Harry said, a smirk on his lips.
