People forget in relationships not everything is perfect. And just like any other relationships. Haley and Jupiter fought. Everyone wants to focus on the happy parts of the relationships which are fine. But to ignore the issues that persisted in a relationship was a volcano waiting to explode.

" Why don't you believe me? I don't like Matt."

" He loves you, Haley. I can see it in his eyes."

" So? Don't think I don't see the way you look at Meg. If you haven't noticed Jupiter. If I loved Matt I would be with him, not you."

They fought often about Matt. At first, it was just little remarks and jabs but gradually it consumed them both. They both reached their breaking point Haley and Matt's senior year.

The distance was too much to bear. Although they pretended it didn't. They pretended misses calls and canceled video-chats were normal. And when Haley blew Jupiter off to hang out with her new guy friends. He told himself it was because it was senior year and she just wanted to have some fun. And when Jupiter missed video chats after video chats to go to parties with a pretty girl named Mindy, she told herself that it was normal, that he was an inexperienced college kid who wanted to explore the world.

But time does not make the heart grow fonder. It makes the heart resent another. Slowly ever so slowly Jupiter grew to dread his calls back home. And quietly Haley began to look to Matt as a replacement for his brother.

The argument up the stairs was a long time coming. They both knew that. But for Jupiter admit something did happen with Mindy. That broke her.

And when she shouted back that she should have never loved him and that she deserved someone like Matt. Jupiter couldn't protest. Even if he could, he knew that she was right.

It was written in the stars that Jupiter and Haley would collide, and maybe just maybe Matt was the bright and fiery Meteor to catch Haley's eyes.
