I Miss You
"My lips miss the feeling of yours"
Oh love don't I miss it too
That heat in a tiny contact
An oxytocin oxymoron of a love
And we're still together but if only we we're together
This absence ever present omnipresent
But you my dear are the present
The future, the past
The stories I mutter to myself in dark rooms
The songs I sing, each melody an echo of you
Damn I miss you, I hope you miss me too
"My hands miss being interlocked with yours"
Oh won't you lace my fingers with yours
Squeezing tight, intertwined
Sweet, intoxicating wine
A distance so far my body shakes in withdrawals
Won't something grant me recovery
To find you once more in a space eternally expanding
An entropic time so rapidly approaching
"I miss the way you smell"
To breathe you in
Coincide myself in you, won't my lungs capture the feeling of you near me
Screw oxygen, I only need you
I'm lost but then, emerge to see you
Won't everything culminate in watching you step through that door
My heart is on the floor
Can't you see it, simultaneously bursting and freezing
Entirely yours, condensed in pixelated poetry, like running ink
I picture you from afar
We've come so far, and yet so close
To be apart for weeks on end, I chase your ghost
Always with me, a whisper in my ear, a glimmer in the sun
Finding you in every beautiful thing, rivaled by none
And now I'm rambling in attempts to say simple truths
Which is that I miss you
