Settling Differences
What are you doing here, traitor?" Leif shouted from behind Annnabeth.
Okay, he is really starting to annoy me, Chaos mentally warned Ariston.
Ariston smirked. "I'd be careful what you say son of Demeter," he said as a flash of light filled the grounds. Everyone but the Hunt closed their eyes from the brightness. The Hunt was used to bright light from being in the sun god's palace for so long. "You just might annoy the wrong person."
"Thank you for that wonderful opening Ariston," an echo voice said. The voice sounded throughout the camp, being projected to everyone present. "Or should I say Percy Jackson?"
"He is not here yet Chaos," Ariston sighed, "and please do not do that with your voice, it gives me a headache."
"Now you know how I feel when you tap on the glass," Chaos said happily, his voice now back to normal. Ariston noticed the look on his face that said that he did not believe Ariston in the slightest.
"Yo! Chaos, what's up?" Phoenix came forward and gave the cosmic being a clap on the back.
"Nothing much, just some arrogant demigod bad mouthing my favorite hero," Chaos said cheerfully.
"So the usual huh?" Luminous asked, coming forward as well.
Chaos shook his head. "No, this one is special," he started, his voice going dangerously low. "This one will receive my deluxe package."
"What is that?" Shade asked, sounding interested. Ariston knew he really was not and he already knew what the deluxe package was. He was just doing it for the camper's sakes.
"It is where you go through the worst torture ever," Chaos said, back to the cheerful tone again. Ariston had long ago decided that he was bipolar. "To each their own. Ariston, young Mr. Hamilton's?"
Ariston grinned evilly, making the campers shiver. "It just so happens to be a ferret," he told his friend.
"A ferret?" Chaos asked, amusement making the twinkle in his eyes grow.
Ariston nodded as Dove and Shooter did their best to muffle their laughter.
"Very well then," Chaos said, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "This is going to be easy, I've done this one on Luminus loads of times. Come here boy."
"I'm not a-"
"You do not get to say that," Ariston growled, interrupting the arrogant son of Demeter. "Have you been to Tartarus? Twice? Fought and led two wars? You have had your peace for these long years because of me."
"Twice?" Annabeth inquired. "But-"
"Yes," he growled yet again. "Why do you think you had such a long period of peace up here? I was down there, causing a distraction so I could delay the rise of Tartarus. Or at least stop it completely. Alone. Still believe I am a traitor?"
Everyone was silent at that as Ariston took a breath to calm himself. "Chaos?" He prompted.
"Right," Chaos shook himself, getting focused. "Get over here boy."
Leif took a deep breath and stepped foreword.
Chaos placed his hand on his forehead - or more like slapped it - and suddenly, there was a white ferret standing where Leif used to be.
There was a roar of laughter coming form some one in the crowd. Looking over, Ariston saw Clarisse and the Stolls doubled over in laughter. Soon the Hunt was laughing almost as hard as them.
Leif the ferret started squeaking, as if he were trying to speak. Or yell at them to stop laughing more likely. Hazel raced forward to pick him up. She gently picked him up and hurried back to Annabeth who accepted him with tears in her eyes.
"I did not think you would be the one to get revenge, Percy," she said, never taking her eyes off her boyfriend turned ferret.
"Percy is not here," Ariston said. "There is only me, Percy is still recovering mentally and emotionally from the betrayal you caused him."
"He. Betrayed. Us!" Annabeth shouted, the tears falling faster.
"How long before you give up this facade?" Ariston inquired softly. "How long before you quit trying to convince yourself and those around you that your ferret boyfriend is right?"
"He is right!" She shouted. "And you are going to turn him back right now!"
"Oh, am I?" Chaos questioned. "Maybe I should turn you into a ferret as well," he gasped in realization, "or... a spider?"
Now Piper stepped forward. "You will not turn Annabeth into a spider and you will turn Leif back into who he was before," she said, charm-speak lacing her voice.
Chaos snorted. "My dear, charmspeak does not work on either Ariston and his hunt nor me," he told her. "Little Aphrodite had to get her powers from somewhere."
Now Ariston was getting annoyed. A prophesy was spoken not fifteen minutes ago and they had yet to do anything but establish that Percy will be there.
"Chaos, go home, you have fulfilled your duty here and we have more important things to do than bicker about Percy," He said before Piper or anyone can say anything. "Meeting at the Big House in fifteen minutes. Phoenix, on me."
Ariston started walking off in the direction of his tent. Once there, Ariston sat down hard on his bed with his head in his hands. He groaned loud and long, letting out his frustration the only way he could at the moment.
"Me with life," Phoenix commented as he plopped himself on the arm chair that was in the corner by a fake window. "So what is with the whole 'Percy isn't here yet?'" He asked. "I know for a fact that Percy never left, he has just been hiding." He paused, waiting for and answer. when he didn't right away, he sighed and said, "Percy."
Ariston groaned again, this time taking his head out of his hands. "I don't know!" He said, his voice scratchy from lack of use. "I do not think I am ready to face them as Percy Jackson. For now, I think, it would be easier to pretend to be someone else."
Luke's/Phoenix's POV(again, I don't normally do this but I think it would be helpful for those easily confused :)
Luke looked at Percy with concern; he thought he could hide from his past. He thought he was putting the past behind him when he did that too. Luke knew that he was really running from it. If he did not face the problems from the past, then Tartarus will have that much more chances of winning. Of course if he told Percy that then he would have his tongue yanked out. So he decided to pretend to support the idea.
"Don't do that Percy," Luke told him. "You need to face your past sooner or later. If you don't Tartarus will win."
Or not.
"Luke," Percy growled.
"I'm serious Percy," he persisted. There was no turning back now. "You need to face them and tell them exactly how you feel."
Percy looked at them incredulously.
"Alright, maybe not exactly," Luke relented. "You might make some people mad and might try to kill you."
Percy was silent. He looked down at his hands and Luke thought he had ignored him until he saw the concentrated look on his face. He was thinking about it. So Luke waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Until the rest of the fifteen minutes were over and it was time to go the the Big House for the meeting.
"Maybe you're right," Percy sighed as he walked out the tent. "For once."
"I'm always right!" Luke scoffed as he followed him out.

As Percy walked into the Big House, he could hear the arguing voices of the cabin counselors and his hunt.
"What is he even doing with you guys?" A voice Percy suspected to be Jason's "He belongs at camp!"
"Then why did you kill him?" A voice easily recognized as Shizzle's demanded.
Jason obviously did not have a suitable answer for this so Piper answered for him by asking a different question. "Do you know what he has done to us?"
Dove snorted. "Do you know what he had done for us?" He asked. "What ever you accuse him of is probably not even true and will be out weighted by all the good he has done."
"What do you know?" Frank scoffed, "You probably only met him when he became a god. People change after that."
"You are right, I only met him when he was a god," Dove acknowledged. "But they," Percy assumed he pointed to the other members of the Hunt in the room, "have known him longer than that. Longer than you even."
"And he has changed," Shade's gloomy voice wafted through the door. "He's colder, less carefree. And it is all because of you!" Percy raised an eyebrow in surprise. Shade has always been so reserved, for him to shout must have taken a lot of emotion. "We had only just begun to crack the ice and make him start acting like he used to but then we had to come here! He was getting better and then he saw you."
Percy decided to enter before things got out of hand. He and Phoenix had been listening to the conversation long enough.
"Nice to see you care, bro," Percy commented as he walked in.
Percy could tell he was flustered after being caught. "Yeah, well, it is true," he said.
Percy nodded then turned to the other people in the room. Chiron was in the corner, looking incredibly ashamed of the campers. Annabeth was taking care of Leif the ferret and Frank was sitting red faced next to Hazel. Piper and Jason had stood up. The Stolls were watching the argument like a tennis match while Clarisse was pretending not to care about the verbal fight going on around her but Percy saw the frown on her face when Hazel decided to speak up.
"What are you doing here?" She demanded. Rudely Percy might add. He had never seen Hazel act so incredibly rude to anyone until that moment. "Finally going to help in a real war? You cowards did not even help in the Second Giant War or the Second Titan War."
"I'll have you know that the Hunt has been working to keep the worst of the war from the camps and Artemis' Hunt," Phoenix said sharply. "Most of us died in the Second Titan War and the rest in the Second Giant War."
"How are you alive?" Annabeth asked, finally joining the conversation.
"Let's just say that Hades owed Percy one and he got to take some old friends back to help." Shizzle said, his tone low and holding a little bit of anger.
"Enough," Percy said, holding his hands up. "We cannot be fighting when we need to defeat Tartarus."
Percy saw that Jason was going to make a most likely ridiculous retort and he stopped him with a raise of his eyebrow. "I have one thing to say before we go on."
"Then say it," Piper said, charm-speak lacing her voice. Percy didn't think she realized she did it until she did so he waited, just to show that her power does not affect him.
"I have not forgiven you and I never will," Percy said bluntly. "You betrayed me and led me to my death. Having a fatal flaw of loyalty as you are betrayed by your loved ones can destroy you. It nearly did."
Percy saw Phoenix's head snap to look at him. He had not told anyone about the time in Tartarus when he had nearly given up. But then he realized that he was a god and had people on the surface depending on him.
"I do not trust any of you, except for my hunt, the Stolls, Clarisse and Chiron," he continued. "Oh, and the entire Apollo and Hermes cabins. They have their father's talents of seeing through a lie. Even though I do not trust you, I know that we cannot defeat the Pit with out working together. So I suggest we make this purely business and not bring anything up that could result in fighting."
Percy looked around and saw that everyone had nodded in agreement, albeit reluctantly. "Good, now does anyone have any ideas on the prophesy?"
