Hoods Down
At Half Blood Hill, Percy saw the Hunt of Artemis having a stand off with his hunt. He was still flying, out of range of the bows, but he could see and hear the two groups just fine. Artemis was in front of Her hunters, staring at Phoenix, who stood in front of Percy's Hunters.
"Where is your master, boy?" The goddess demanded.
Percy could tell that Phoenix had scowled. "I am not a boy my lady," Phoenix told her respectfully, "I happen to be physically the same age as Percy and I have seen things he has not. Yet. 'Cause with his luck, he'll see them before he fades."
"You can't possibly have seen more than Percy," Thalia yelled, "He has been to Tartarus for Hades' sake!"
"I said I saw things he has not," Phoenix growled, "I know I haven't gone through more than him. No one can go through more than him. Yet, even Percy has not gone through everything."
"Oh, thanks Phoenix," Percy drawled sarcastically as he landed right next to him, "Jinx it why don't you?"
Phoenix unexpectedly (or expectedly in Percy's case) punched Percy on the arm.
Suddenly Thalia and half of the other huntresses had an arrow notched and ready to shoot at Phoenix. "Do that again, I dare you," Thalia threatened.
Percy looked at Phoenix and mentally contacted him. Do it, he commanded, She needs to know I trust you.
Phoenix obeyed.
The arrows from the Huntresses suddenly flew over at Percy's Hunt. Before the arrows reached Phoenix and the others, they were intercepted by a wall of golden feathers. Percy's massive wings had appeared out of no where, protecting his team while piercing his feathers. Some fell out and golden ichor leaked out of where the arrows protruded.
"Styx, Percy, why did you tell me to do that?" Phoenix panicked when he saw the arrows heads poking through the other side of Percy's wings.
Percy grunted in amusement, falling down to one knee. "Shooter, if you would," he prompted, gesturing to his wings.
"Percy why did you do that?" Thalia shouted, starting forward.
Before she could go more than a few steps, she was stopped by Dove, Shade, Phoenix, Luminous and Shizzle coming in front of Percy, weapons drawn. "One more step, I dare you," Nico said, throwing her own words back at her. His voice was cold and emotionless, making even Artemis shiver in fear.
Shooter finished pulling the arrows from Percy's wings and he moved to return the arrows to the girls. Percy summoned some nectar and he splashed some on his wings while eating some ambrosia.
"My lord Ariston, are you alright?" Dove asked, looking over his shoulder.
"I'm fine, Dove," Percy pat his friend's shoulder as he watched Shooter carefully approach the girls, set the arrows on the ground and walk backwards to the rest of his team.
"Percy?" Thalia tentatively asked, reaching her hand out.
"That is Lord Ariston to you, Thals," Percy smiled mischievously. "The god of demigods, the hunt and loyalty. Show some dam respect." Percy mock scoffed, imitating Ares. That could be taken two ways, either the hunt full of man hating girls would take it offensively or they would laugh, seeing through the joke.
Turns out, everyone but Thalia misunderstood the joke. They began yelling angrily but stopped when Thalia burst into laughter. Thalia's sisters al stared at her incredulously. "We need to put that on a dam T-shirt," she said in between laughs.
"Good idea," Percy said, "Shizzle, you should get with Sparky and work on that."
"Yes, sir," Shizzle said, looking at Percy in confusion.
"Be sure to spell it like a water dam," Percy added. "You know, D-A-"
"I know how to spell that one," Shizzle interrupted.
"You sure?" Percy asked, raising an eyebrow. "You don't even know how to spell your own name."
"Yes, I'm sure," Shizzle growled in annoyance. "It happened one time!"
"Anyway," Percy said, turning back to the confused girls standing awkwardly on the other side of the barrier. "My hunt and I are in charge of training, so while you are here, you all, including you Artemis, answer to either me or Phoenix for training. My hunt is well trained and despite the fact that you are all man haters, I expect you to show the same respect to them and me as you would to Artemis." Percy eyed Phoebe and some of the older hunters carefully.
"Yes, Phoebe, you will be training separate from the campers, but you are expected to listen to the hunter overseeing your training. Out side training..." Percy trailed off, "I do not care." Percy had an evil glint in his eye that made the nearby campers, including Clarisse to shiver. "Do nothing to harm my hunt and we will do the same to you. Pranks are a given."
Thalia perked up at the last sentence. The evil glint that was in Percy's eyes was copied in her's.
"Why did you have to go and say that?" Shizzle whined. "Now I'll be waking up to whipped cream on my face. Or a mustache. Or a bucket of water over my head."
"Oops," Percy said as he leapt into the air, not sounding at all sorry.
As Percy flew, he could see Thalia excuse herself from the hunt and Artemis and take off, following him. He could tell he was in for a heck of a scolding from the smirk on Artemis' face.
Percy stopped at Zeus' Fist, arriving around the same time as Thalia, having slowed down so she could keep up.
Phoenix, don't panic if I come back black and blue, Percy mentally told his lieutenant.
Don't try to block or dodge, it makes her angrier, Phoenix replied.
We wouldn't want that now would we?
"Why in the world did you not tell me?" Thalia demanded, shaking Percy out of his mental conversation with Phoenix. She had her hands on her hips and her electric blue eyes and hair crackled with lightning.
"Um..." was Percy's brilliant response.
"It was stupid if you ask me," she continued, still cackling with energy, "I'm your cousin and I have been devastated ever since you died." Now she started on the punches. "Artemis hasn't been the same either, you were like a brother to her even though she covers that up with the excuse that you were the only decent male on this planet. Your father is even more of a Kelp head than you were, my dad is even more of a pain and Annabeth is a different person, along with everyone else in the Seven. Hylla and Artemis are even more independent and do not get along with anybody. Hades, Percy the only people who have not been affected by your disappearance is the gods that knew where you were!" By the end of her rant, Thalia was throwing lightning bolts at Percy, with each bolt getting stronger with each strike.
Percy stood there patiently waiting for Thalia to finish and taking each blow with out flinching.
When she finished, Percy rose an eyebrow. "You done?"
Thalia stood in front of him, panting from her attacks. "How are you not burned to a crisp?" She looked at him carefully. "Or black and blue?"
Percy smirked. "I'm a god now, remember?" He told her with a smirk. "Besides, it's not like my own domain can hurt me anymore. Physically that is."
Thalia stared at him. "Oh," she whispered.
"So how have you been?" Percy asked casually, as if getting pummeled by your cousins happened every day.
Thalia snapped out of it and nodded. "Fine, fine, just peachy. Just having to deal with you without even realizing it!" She shouted again.
Percy laughed, full on bent over and everything. His voice was scratchy, still not recovered completely rom his lack of use since he became a god.
Thalia stood awkwardly, watching him laugh. "I did not think it was that funny."
That made Percy snort but he calmed down. "It is nice to see you again, dear cousin," he said.
Thalia rose an eyebrow. "Going all old fashioned on me?" she inquired. "Please don't, I get enough of that from the older huntresses."
Percy laughed again, this time ending with a, "Let's go, I believe it is dinner time. Tonight at the campfire you meet my team so don't go anywhere."
The daughter of Zeus looked at him curiously but all Percy did was laugh again and lead the way to the dining pavilion.
Later that night, Percy was waiting patiently for Chiron to introduce him and his team. The fire was an excited blue, leaping to twice Chiron's height and Percy was eyeing the campers carefully. Annabeth and Leif were making out, causing Percy to awkwardly skim over them with his eyes. He had not seen much of that in his time with the Hunt. Frank and Hazel were going around, saying their goodbyes because they were leaving in the morning for Camp Jupiter. Piper and Jason were leaning against each other, causing some in the Aphrodite cabin to swoon. Artemis' hunt, including Thalia, was laughing and joking amongst themselves, giving the boys around them dirty looks. Percy's hunt, however, was sitting quietly, nervously awaiting their time in the spot light.
But the time that came, it had grown so dark, the stars showed and Percy could easily point out the Huntress constellation. Bob says hello, he thought to himself.
"Campers and Hunters," Chiron said, banging his hooves on the ground, "Your attention, if you please?" As the group of campers and Hunters quieted down, Percy turned to Hestia, who was tending the flames. "My lady, I believe the Counsil will like to be here for this," he told her.
Hestia nodded and flashed to get the Olympian Council. In the next second, she returned with the rest of the major gods and one or two minor gods.
"Campers, Hunters and gods and goddesses," Chiron said. "I believe Lord Ariston has an announcement to make."
He moved to the side as Percy stepped forward. "As you know, I was the infamous Percy Jackson before I died and became Ariston, god of loyalty, the hunt and demigods," he started. "My hunt is comprised of long dead male demigods and even mortal heros as well as live ones. Now, I believe it is time to reveal to you who they were. This team is only part of my hunt, I have one team in Camp Jupiter and two others traveling the country. Starting with Shizzle and ending with Phoenix. Say your names, godly parent and why you chose your code name. Shizzle?"
"My name is Charles Beckendorf, son of Hephaestus," he said, spreading his hands wide, as if showing something off. "I chose the code name Shizzle in honor of the best fire user in demigod history."
That probably set Annabeth for a loop, many people in the audience probably assumed he would be Leo. This, however, took most of the campers who knew Leo by surprise.
"Valdez," Shade said as he reached behind Dove to whack him on the head. "Tell the truth."
"Hood," Percy added.
"Fine," Leo reached up and pulled back his his hood, his curly hair a mess, "I am Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus. Savior of Olympus and fire user. I chose the name of Shizzle because that is who I am."
Dove stepped forward before Leo could say anymore. "I am Sam, son of Aphrodite and babysitter of Leo Valdez. I chose the name of Dove in honor of my mother."
Some campers snorted at the part about Leo.
"Don't laugh," Percy said, glaring at them. "You try controlling Leo when he has gone on a sugar high."
"What ever you do," Leo began, "Give all your skittles and doughnuts to me!"
"Don't!" Dove yelled. "Please don't!"
Shade whacked Leo again. "Stop that!" he said before stepping forward himself and pulling down his hood. "I am Nico Di Angelo, son of Hades. I chose the name of Shade because Shadow was too cliché." Nico looked about the same as when he died except for the fact that he got a little bit of a tan and his hair is even messier.
The next to come forward was Shooter. He reached up and pulled down his hood. A mass of blonde hair emerged from the deep cowl. "I am Michael yew, son of Apollo. Monster Assassin. I chose the code name Shooter for obvious reasons." He said the last part holding his bow up.
Luminous stepped forward, bringing down his hood at the same time. "My name is Will Solace, son of Apollo. Master Healer of Ariston's Hunt. I chose the name Luminous as my code name because I kept getting told I was a big bundle of sunshine."
"That's because you are pessimistic," Leo muttered. Cue whack on the back of the head.
Now it was Phoenix's turn. He slowly stepped forward, with the help of Shooter. "My name is Luke Castellan, son of Hermes. Savior of Olympus and retriever of the golden apples. I chose the code name Phoenix as a reference to my rebirth and the start of my new life."
There was a moment of silence. Then: "Traitor!"
Hey guys! Hope you like it!
Now I'm not quite done yet, I have a new story/fanfic I would like to write and I already have the first chapter down but I want to know if anybody would even read it. I'm gonna call it "Percy Jackson; the SHEILD Agent". And I have a special surprise for you in the first few chapters. If you want a hint, go look on my conversations, I put a little note to myself and my followers if they ever though about reading/writing it. It was a while ago so you might have to scroll a bit.
Tell me if you would read it or not and if I get ten people saying that they would read it then I will post it.
