Chapter Nineteen
Surprise, surprise, my lovely readers!
Chapter Nineteen: A Talk Between Huntresses
Point of View: Artemis
I walk along the beach, looking for my huntress. I should have asked Zianthos where they spoke. That would have saved me some time. Who knows where she could have gone after he left.
Phoebe told me what she was going to ask him about. Zoë and the love he speaks of for the world. She was confused and I believe that she wanted to hear her answers from the man she believed killed her best friend.
I spot her, standing in the waves as her feet are soaked.
Is this where he left her?
I come to stand beside her and she hardly notices my presence, highly unusual. "Phoebe?"
"Lady Artemis." She acknowledges.
"Are you quite alright? Zianthos said he left you be with your thoughts." I begin.
She nods. "Yes." She breathes.
"What are you thinking?" I question.
She shakes her head. "I am still muddled."
"He did answer you, correct?" I ask.
"Yes, he did." She murmurs. "I am now unsure of something else."
"What is it?" I am curious now, she has never been this hard to read before and she has never sought out so much information since before she joined the Hunt. She usually just waits for things to present themselves.
"Nothing." She says quietly.
"Phoebe?" I frown.
She looks at me. "Let's go eat." She smiles, shrugging me off.
What is going on?
