Apollo meets the Young Justice team and decides to get to know them

Bruce had told Evelyn about Dick's team, the Young Justice, needing a supervisor as Red Tornado, their old supervisor had gone back to their creator, T. O. Morrow. Evelyn happily agreed to supervisor the team as she wanted to meet Dick's team. She had yet to met all the members besides Wally West, Kid Flash, and Kaldur, Aqualad.

'Apollo - 07'

'Batman - 02'

Evelyn waited for Bruce before both walked into the Young Justice training room. They walked in to see a blonde archer fight against a young boy with black hair and giant Superman symbol on his black shirt.

"Apollo!" A weight crashed into my body and I have to grab onto Bruce to keep myself up right. I look down to see Wally hugging my torso and smile to the ginger boy.

"Hello KF." I wrap my arms around the boy in greeting before I heard Dick and Kaldur also approach.

"Okay, let her breathe." Dick, or Robin judging by the glasses covering his face, says annoyed. KF sheepishly let go on for Kaldur to set a hand on her shoulder.

"Hello Kaldur." Kaldur nodded in greeting before moving back to the rest of the group. A green Martian smiles brightly as she happily approaches Evelyn.

"Hello! You must be Robins mom!" The room falls silent as no one knows what to say. Evelyn wasn't his mom but she also didn't want to come across as rude to the innocent looking Martian. She clearly didn't have an ill will when saying it.

"Oh well..." Evelyn laughs nervously as plucks at her shirt. Bruce said she could wear normal clothes as long as she wore sunglasses to hide her face. Evelyn found it silly but agreed and wore her big square ones, just to make Bruce happy about hiding her face.

"Yea, she is." Dick says nonchalant. Evelyn and Bruce look to Dick in surprise before a smile takes over Evelyn's face. She knew she wouldn't ever replace Martha but she was happy Dick saw her as a maternal figure.

"It's so nice to meet you! I'm M'gann but you can call me by my earth name, Megan! That's Connor and Artemis!" Evelyn nods along as Megan points to the two unknown people in the room.

Evelyn told Bruce that she didn't want to know the team before meeting them herself, she wanted an in person meeting for the first time, not a digital one.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Evelyn saw how Artemis nodded in greeting while Connor just grunted. Evelyn felt her brow life at being brushed off. Not something she was used to, not with being rich in her mundane life and not with being associated with Batman in her hero life. She found it refreshing though.

"Apollo will be overseeing you while Black Canary and Captain Marvel are out. All missions will come through her." Evelyn nodded along before excusing herself to walk back to the Zeta tube with Bruce.

"See you at home?" Bruce nodded and looked behind them quickly, seeing the team busy talking amongst themselves. He stole a quick kiss from Evelyn before sending a small smile towards his love.

"Don't tell them boss you around."

"You doubt me so?" Evelyn smirked back as Bruce shook his head in amusement. He stepped into the tube and programmed to go to the watch tower.

'Batman - 02'

Evelyn turned away to see the team looking at her expectantly. Evelyn looked down at herself, wondering if something was on her clothes. When she deemed herself clean she looked back up to the kids in front of her.

"Don't even ask." Evelyn says pointedly, looking to each one before moving towards the kitchen.

"Megan! Robin tells me you like to bake." Megan brightened up as she flew over in excitement.

"Yes! I've been trying new recipes and so far have done okay!" Megan says enthusiastically as she flies next to Evelyn.

"Don't put yourself done sweet stuff, your cooking rocks." Artemis rolled her eyes as she and the others walk over to the kitchen.

"You'll eat anything Wally. You never stop." Wally gasped in hurt as he placed his hand over his heart.

"I burn 3,000 calories a day, I need the energy!" Evelyn snickered as she started pulling baking ingredients down. She planned to make some monster cookies with Megan for the others to eat.

"Are you sure you burn that from running and not talking?" Artemis shot back. Dick hollered in glee as Kaldur watched in amusement and Connor just stands there annoyed.

"I'd you aren't going to help bake the cookies, out. Wally I'm looking at you." Evelyn spoke as she placed her hands on the counter, looking to the resident speedster.

"I ate the dough one time!" Everyone laughed at Wally as he left the kitchen is sadness. Artemis and Kaldur follow behind him, mumbling about keeping him in check. Dick stayed as Megan chatted happily about baking with Evelyn. Connor seemed unsure on where to go as he felt comfortable with Megan as they live together in Mount Justice but didn't want to bake. Seeing his internal struggle, Evelyn decided to cut him some slack.

"Connor, do you think you could help make the cookies? I'm thinking a big batch for you guys and a big batch for the Justice league. I'm sure they would appreciate some cookies too." Connor seemed like he wanted to say no but then he say Megan looking at him hopefully. Evelyn saw how Connor changed his mind at Megan's look of hope.

"I'll help too!" Dick exclaims as he rushes to Evelyn's other side. Evelyn sent him a smile before she started to show the three how to make her chocolate chip cookies. Simple cookies but delicious when warm.

"Crack the egg lightly Connor, it may have a hard shell but a little pressure can help keep the crack under control and give you the same results as harshly breaking it open." Evelyn spoke softly as she demonstrated how to crack an egg properly. Connor struggled with baking but Evelyn was always right there to help teach him. It was nice to have someone help him without ridiculing him about his wrong actions. It felt nice to have someone be patient with him.

"Good Connor. Do you mind cracking a few more? We need about 10 in there." Connor nodded and focused on cracking the egg carefully. He wanted to show Apollo he listened to her words and advice.

"How's the baking—woah! Superboy is baking and not brooding? Who is this and where is the real Superboy?" Wally asks as he, Artemis and Kaldur walk about into the kitchen. They hadn't heard any yelling or storming off and truthfully, they thought something might have been wrong.

They were right and wrong. Nothing was wrong but the picture before them was all unseemly. Connor looked content while Megan was happily chatting with Apollo and Robin stood next to her, whisking the dough together.

"Wally West, if you have nothing kind to say you get no cookies and they all go to Flash."

"No! No im sorry Apollo! I didn't mean anything by it." Wally quickly apologized as he wanted the cookies desperately. He remembered the last time Apollo made cookies and how heavenly gooey they were. The chocolate and dough ratio was perfect and the cookie was a perfect golden color. Wally had been craving her cookies since he last had them.

"Don't apologize to me." Apollo said back before nodding towards Connor. Said boy looked to Wally with a smug smirk as he waited for Wally to apologize.

"Ugh! Connor I'm uh, I'm sorry." Wally managed to say out to Superboy, his face in physical pain at having to apologize to the boy. Apollo smiled and nodded in appreciation before moving to Kaldur and Artemis.

"Would you two mind mixing the chips in and putting them on the trays? Wally you are in charge of the timer and if I catch you eating a single dollop of dough you will be removed from the kitchen, immediately." Apollo sternly warned as Wally slowly moved to sit back down away from the dough, face frowning at being caught.

"Sure." Artemis and Kaldur move to do as asked, Artemis manning the chocolate chips while Kaldur scoops and places the dough onto the baking tray.

Kaldur nods to Wally to start to timer and moves to keep making balls of dough.

"Are you married to Batman?" Megan asks curiously. Apollo frowned at her question and Dick shot a worried look to Wally. Dick knew that Evelyn wanted to get married to Bruce but Bruce was hesitant to tie her down to a life of danger. It was a touchy subject, simply put.

"Uh no. I'm not, just close relationship." Apollo says casually, taking the cracked eggs from Connor and mixing them into the other wet ingredients. Most of the kids now listened to Apollo is curiosity while Dick just shifted nervously. He wanted both Bruce and Evelyn happy but knew it wasn't his place to discuss it.

"Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be intrusive." Apollo sent a small smile to Megan. She knew it must be difficult to be an alien living on a new world and tried not to hold a grudge against her.

"It's okay. Do you mind finishing the cookies up? I have to make a call." Megan nodded instantly and took up Apollo's place. The kids started to converse as Apollo left to call Bruce.

"Everything okay?" Bruce answered on the first ring, worry in his voice. Evelyn laughed at his concern and replied.

"Everything is fine, we're making cookies. Tell Superman, manhunter, flash, arrow, and Diana to come over. We made enough for you guys to come enjoy with us." Bruce was silent on the other line for a moment before hushed voices could be heard. Evelyn knew Aquaman was in Atlantis otherwise she would have asked him to come too.

"We'll be there in 30."

The Justice league mentors plus Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman, arrive right at the 30 minute mark. Each comes in and finds their protege quickly, Diana going to talk to Kaldur about Atlantis and his time leading the team.

Dick still had a hard time swallowing he wasn't leader of the team but he's managed to push past it. For now.

"Cookies are done!" Apollo announced as she brought out about 30 cookies for everyone. "Flash and KF, your cookies are in the kitchen." Both speedsters grin happily before racing off to their buffet of sugar.

Batman approached Apollo and gave her a quick smile that no one else noticed beside Dick. Dick offered to pass the cookies around as Apollo looked around for Superman. She didn't hear him enter and Connor was sulking in the corner.

"Where's Clark?" Bruce sighed as he shook his head.

"He wasn't prepared for Connor. He doesn't know what to do." Apollo nodded in understanding before moving towards Connor. She held a cookie in front of his face and smiled as he looked towards her.

"You gonna try it?" Connor stalled for a moment before taking it and trying a bite. His eyes widen in surprise before he devoured what was left of the cookie. Evelyn laughed at his reaction and handed him her own.

"That's yours—"

"I have the recipe, I make them all the time for Robin. It's all yours." Connor debated what to do before taking the cookie that Apollo once again shoved into his face. Connor felt a smile tug at his lips as he realized this is what having a parent means. Someone willing to give up something for their child without thought. Connor hated it admit it, but he really liked the feeling of being someone kid. Especially since Superman wanted nothing to do with him.

"Apollo! These are amazing!"

"Yes! I agree! Is there anymore?"

"KF and Flash probably already ate them all." At Dick's words the two walk out of the kitchen, hands on their bellies and sugar rushed smiles on their face. Seeing how everyone looked at them pointedly, flash sheepishly smiled and rubbed the back of his head.

"Sorry?"
